Got a little bit bigger vise than the one 2 weeks ago, had to give $60 for this 4", so 3 times what I gave for the 3". One of the best condition I've seen, will go into electrolysis and then paint. It's identical to one I already have mounted and in use, so know and like what I'm getting. Also got the swage for $100; it's one heavy SOB! Almost all I can lift and I'm not weak.

You ****! I have no need for a swage but I'd find a use for it. The vise is just a bonus for that haul.

I didn't get a chance to post my finds from the Flea Market at the beginning of September. I've been away from the computer since then, so I'll post them now.

I spotted some interesting items at one vendor, including a metal box that contained a number of large taps. The vendor let me make a pile with the box and a large number of loose items, then priced it at $40.00. Other vendors had some other worthwhile items, including a set of gunsmith's screwdrivers, a Bonney ratchet, a Walden wrench, and a nice pair of Cee Tee pliers. I was out less than $50.00 for the day.

I hit a very nice estate sale, way out in the country. Not much in the way of hand tools, but a lot of interesting storage items, saw mill tools, and farm items. I am trying to hold back on what I buy, or at least make sure I find enough stuff to sell and cover the cost, but I did find some treasures: Proto Torque manual, Greenlee gouge, Starrett long pin punches, Starrett long tap handle, Stanley 98 marking gauge, two right hand Spintites (homemade), and to sell a Toyota tool kit (these bring good money from the JDM crowd). Saturday is half price day, and unless something really exciting comes up, I will be back for that!

Here is a grab from a rare Friday estate sale "on the way to work". I needed to go in late so spent a few minutes at this one. Guy right before me grabbed what appeared to be a Makita sander in a case. Only thing I found of interest was this Morse master electrician's hole saw kit AV-08E. It appears now that there's maybe four or five Morse bits left and the rest are all other brands (Yellow, maybe Dewalt, didn't look). Couple look unused. Oh well, decent price if they are sorta sharp.

I sold a Toyota toolkit like that for around 300 bucks on eBay. People definitely like them

These are from a stop in early September:
Vintage S-K #4097 1/4"-drive socket set and original case (no remnants of a decal though). I think it only needs a 40950 cross bar.
Six amber handle screwdrivers (Plomb, Proto, Herbrand, Phillips and one to be identified)
Two Lectrolite Tru Fit DBE wrenches
Plomb #5480 speeder wrench
Metal socket container of what looks like the SK No. 4517W 3/8"-drive socket set (I have the 6" and 11" extensions already)
Early Craftsman sliding T-handle
Penens #3256 slip-joint pliers
Action 77JA 3/8"-Drive Ratchet
Indestro Super 2775 Ratchet - 3/8"-drive
and a few other older sockets (Bonney, etc.)
Everything was on 1/2 price Sunday, so $20 total.

Only one local sale shown in Craigslist so we headed out this morning to check it out. We appeared to be the only customers. There was a table covered with a mix of tools and as I started to look through them the seller suggested that I take everything for a ridiculously low price so I did. He brought out a Craftsman carry box to put them in at no additional cost which was hard to argue with. Many of the tools were quite rusty so the evaporust containers are now full. I cleaned a few up that weren’t too rusty. The Dremel seemed to work fine. IMG_0398.jpegIMG_0400.jpegIMG_0403.jpegIMG_0421.jpeg

Recognize the hammer brand?
