Outlaw- yes it’s a push key. Interesting design. Seen them but haven’t owned one before. The locking occurs on the attached end.

Lugz- thanks for the links. This one is Independent Lock though I see yours is Corbin. That’s cool they had multiple suppliers and both say Electric for some reason.

Edit, if you notice the tiny hole through the lock, it would’ve had a hanger, possibly for a chain.
could you show a picture of the other side of the lock? The key is definitely Independent Lock (now Ilco)
I have a bunch of Yale locks that are similar design but larger. I also have several Corbin push key locks.

I hit a sale yesterday marked as a "widow of a mechanic of 48 years." It was mostly a mish mosh of different USA made brands but I think I did well for $25. She initially told me $10 and I gave her $20, then I picked up the IR air hammer for an additional $5. She knew the stuff was worth more but told me she was exhausted from trying to sell it all and was happy to see people have her husband's things.

Left to right: some sort of unmarked auto body bumping hammer (possibly), an USA made sledge, and a DISSTON USA hammer (any ideas what it's for), numerous USA (2 Taiwain) air hammer bits, NOS IR air hammer and chuck, Snap On air hammer, MILTON blow gun, Wright Tools 32mm 12 pt 1/2" drive for a friend who collects Wright stuff, NOS Hitachi grinder discs, unmarked large chisel, Proto drift pin and rolling pry bar, unmarked center punch, Snap On small punch, Crescent 5/16" nut driver (I thought it was a Snap On but was wrong), unknown tool with black and gold handle, 2 local advertisement pocket screwdrivers, and a Caterpillar brake adjusting tool.

Anyone know what this is? The tip appears to be brass.

pretty good

A couple items from my last trip.

-Old Buffalo Forged Steel pliers. Used to see these. Not sure who made them. national ? Have to dig out a couple pliers to compare.

-Winchester’s jar wrench. Carthage, Mo. Kind of neat how it adjusts.

Just a few items. I have a question about a couple of them.
The Hinsdale double box end wrenches do not have a model number on them and are not chrome plated. Possibly WWII?
The other double box end has no manufacturer but does have a E cast in it. It looks familiar, maker and also possibly WWII?

THE REST:
Indestro 4488 ratchet, no plug.
Plomb Pebble 1216 & 1220. Plain Plomb 1220. Plomb 3030.
Bonney B Shield 23F wrench. Probably from a set sold for Ford.
Stanley 41 Push Drill.
Barcalo Linemans Pliers
Craftsman 9 44602 adjustable.

That's a great $25 haul. Good on you for taking care of her (and her for not scrapping her husband's tools).

You also ****.

So it has been a very long time for me to post on here. I just got back from a sale and had to share with some people who would appreciate what I found. So the listing was for “Tools of all Kind“. I clicked on it and scrolled through the pics. Most was garbage, but the last pic had a vise in the back on a workbench.

I messaged and asked about the vise. I live about 30 minutes away and wanted to see if it was there. I got nothing back for 3 days and then I got a message back…

Here is a run down of the messages…
Me. “Is that a vise still available? I live pretty close and can pick it up.”

3 days later
Them. “What is a vise?”
Me. (I sent a pic of a similar vise)
Them. “This is my Dad’s stuff. Yeah it is still here.
Me. “Great! I can be there soon. Where am I going?”
Them. “ I’m not ready to give you the address yet. I’ll get back to you.”

2 days later the listing was marked sold

2 days later.
Them. “Here is my Dad’s number message him.”

I messaged the Dad and set up a time. Just left with this guy. I paid $50!11
A C-3 for $50!! That's a huge "you ****".

The unmarked 5/8” x 11/16” DBE wrench is very likely Barcalo made.IMG_0352.jpegIMG_0351.jpeg

The little pliers are very faintly stamped "Sheffield England" and what appears to be 1016 or 1046. I thought the pattern was kind of interesting.

I am probably missing the obvious here, but who made the large wood-handled screwdriver marked "Worcester - Chicago" ?
:dunno:

this was all contained in this nice plastic tool box. can't beat free. ;)

Estate sale ($40): 3-SK sockets sets; cap pistol; Diamond Calk 4" crescent wrench; PS&W bit brace; 50' Ace Hardware tape measure; bicycle light?; Mac SP16 scraper; Master Tufboy no.308 8' tape measure; Estwing E3-22SM 16" framing hammer; Keencut 13C-8 scissors; Yale pad lock; Schrade -Walden (1953-1957) US Navy survival knife; Carl Nath **** chisels; Vermont American no. 65966 dove tail saw; Draw knife; Propane, Las'stik king sized dust cloth.

Normally, I ignore loose sockets, but in this instance found the empty cases so I decided to sweep up the entire drawer of loose sockets and ratchets. Tada I think I'm only missing one 1/4" - 7/16" deep socket.

107.jpeg
Hi All -- I think the Schrade-Walden knife in the pic is a 1953-1957 US navy pilot survival knife. What will confirm it is if the blade is parkerized. What do you think?

We are back in the Bay Area and I spotted an estate sale in Clayton, CA put on by one of our favorite companies. I saw a Powr-Kraft box in the Craigslist pictures and it was still there when we arrived a couple hours after the sale began. There was a pretty nice Kennedy machinist’s box with tools inside that I couldn’t resist. Here are some pictures of the haul.
