My finish nailer hammer isn't retracting after firing. Its gotten home DIY use (very little) and maybe lack of use and routine oiling is the problem, it looks like new. Any suggestions on trouble shooting?

I rebuilt an older Paslode framing nailer last winter. First time ever. It wasn't that hard to do. You might just take it down and clean everything and try it.

I have a 15 ga Porter Cable finish nailer that does the same thing. It's a PITA. Extra oil usually helps but it jams nearly every time I use it.

From experience, you will eventually wind up replacing the piston bumper (part 114 from your IPL) and the trigger valve. The bumper degrades over time and will crumble while in use. The trigger valves will wear out as well. Other than these two parts, my 5 PC nailers have been pretty well bomb proof. And now I’ve jinxed myself…

Glad a little lube fixed your issue.

For $100, a new Metabo. I looked at the cost of parts, it can quickly add up.

porter cable nailers are not what they once were. like many companies ... I had one that wasn't very old and hadn't shot many nails, there was a cheap translucent plastic seal in the trigger that disintegrated .
I agree on the bumper probably gone bad
