Worked on the overhead door for a while, but had to break off early and go to a doctor appointment. So not a lot of progress there today.

The Loctite 660 had 24 hours to cure, so I was able to reassemble and reinstall the wiper transmission.

Hoping this works.

Put away a bunch of tools that I should be done with now that I’m working on putting the new trim on. Hammer, pry bars, cats paw, and similar implements of destruction are back where they go.

Observed the repair and testing of the Samsung Electric Clothes Dryer. This Dryer was a gift, my total cost for the Washer and Dryer is $410.

Ordered the sweeping of the Chimney and the cleaning of the dryer vent. The Chimney Sweep reported that the roofer had installed the Rain Cap incorrectly. Got all that fixed.

This is where I left off on the front end. The NOS front Mark IV emblem IMG_4201.jpeg

Been eyeballing a NOS ornament for a bit but don’t want to drop $400 on it. I was going to just go for it though, when this beauty came up on the bay. Original. Decent enough for my daily driver. And best of all <$100!IMG_4347.jpeg

Not bad. Now just gotta do something about the chrome on the grille. I didn’t realize how bad it was! IMG_4348.jpeg

There was more, just ran outta time. More tomorrow!

Pulled the deck off the riding mower, replaced a missing bolt on the blade brake, greased the deck spindles and moving parts, sharpened the blades, cleaned some of the grime off, welded up some cracks from previous owner's repair, sprayed some etch primer on the welds and bare metal, then put everything away till the new parts arrive. The parts box was sitting on the front porch when we got home a little while ago, along with a new garage sign.

Tried to figure out WTF is going on that my Quick Jack won't raise my car, think it's the relay but not something easy to find where they don't want you to order 500 or more, le sigh

I searched a while tonight and can't seem to find a 120VAC only 208-240 which I don't think will work...

Bezos sells something close. Search for “DPST relay 120 volt coil”

Make sure that it’s good for 30A

Finished the overhead door trim,

IMG_5011.jpeg

Cleaned up all of the leftover debris and ****, filled the bin, and rolled it to the curb. Tomorrow is garbage pickup day.

Started mocking up an aluminum cap / drip edge for the roof.

IMG_5013.jpeg

Decided it was too hot to work more, temperature in the upper 90s and 60%+ humidity.

Unboxed and started setting up the portable a/c I bought on end of year clearance last year. Where it needs to go, the exhaust hose won’t reach the window. Some thinking, and a trip to Menards for supplies. I’ll fix it tomorrow, it’s supposed to be 80s and lower humidity.

Worked on framing a 20x20 section of the 40x60 shop. It’s upper 90’s outside not much cooler inside. Once the walls are up and fire rocked I’ll be putting in a mini split. It’s already on site just waiting installation. Don’t move in until you finish. I didn’t have an option. Having to move junk to stay ahead of construction.

If you're going to make an aluminum cap/whatever for your roof, I'd recommend using coil stock. It's a bit heavier than the run of the mill flashing, and it's got a color coat on two sides. Usually white and your chosen color.

Yep, that would be the eventual plan. I like using this cheap thin flashing to prototype with, so I keep a roll of it around.
