Snerk. I was waiting for someone to comment. It's my wife's vintage ceranic hat bust for staging photos of vintage hats she is selling. The bust and the hats came out of Marie's Junque Shop. It freaks me out when I forget it's there.

The sale I mentioned in my last post ended up being a dud in the end. They decided to go through collectibles instead of pulling the tool boxes out but I found a few more sales that had a few good things.
One block over from that sale I ended up with a $3 10 Lb drilling hammer. Needs a new handle but I'd use it with a shorter handle so I might be able to cut the handle down and shape the end to fit properly.
Was looking at a cobra framing hammer(removable face kinda expensive hammer that doesn't appear to have any current production so no replacement faces) but while I was inspecting it to see if it was worth messing with a younger guy said he needed it and grabbed it out of my hand.
Figured it wasn't worth messing with anyhow but it's nice to see the younger guys being respectful and helping me save a few bucks.
Went to 3 sales in town and found 2 clocks and another quartz watch. It's not quite fitting here but I've seen some other people sharing their non-tool finds too.
Still haven't found a mechanical watch, my target since I started working on watches, but a travel clock is a bit closer than the abundance of quartz I've been seeing. $2 total but I think the blue stone mantle clock alone was worth it despite it being a quartz movement.
Also got two more big ticket items at one of the 3 sales in town. First a 4 foot fan for $40. Needs oiled but it's functional, useful too when it's 90°+ out with high humidity.
Finally a shelving unit. Top three shelves have a little hydraulic opener so it'll be convenient for organizing parts/tools waiting for restoration also on castors so it's not stuck in one spot. Could use new plastic sheets for the shelves but they're not going anywhere with what can actually fit on the shelves. $30 for it.

In my defense, Bruce's house is only about a half mile away on the loop we did on the peninsula. She lives about three miles away on the other side of the Navesink (a tidal estuary), and it would've been out of the way. To give you an idea of how bad it's gotten, a developer bought an estate farm very close to the property we were fighting (to be objective, a parks and recreation area, too) that has been called Hiddenwell Farm for over a century, turned it into six (6) luxury houses, and thought he was doing a good thing by calling it, boldly, wait for it if you haven't already guessed it..."Hiddenwell Farms". It is no longer either hidden or farms!

I know, but it would be fun to see you again, tool scrounge with you again (Master Negotiator, people!), and take a different tour. I can show you her house, we can give the middle finger salute to Jon Stewart (not a fan!), and eat brunch this time at Jon Bon Jovi's Soul Kitchen (also not a fan, but a very cool place for a very noble and worthy cause).

$10 for this Tecumseh H50. Hopefully a new plug and carb cleaning will get it going. Only bummer is that it’s off a generator and has a tapered shaft. I’ll have to keep my eye out for a PTO crank to replace it with.

Very few sales listed in the Tahoe area and only one mentioned tools so my expectations were low. The first sale actually had a few tools as advertised. I found a Ridge Improved 14” Stillson. some 10” Cee Tee pliers and a Craftsman screwdriver. 
The second sale had a DeWalt saw, a Buck Bros wood chisel and a small rusty square of undetermined manufacture. To my amazement, the old battery even charged up and ran the saw.
A TOO produced a few tools of interest for me and a few things that my wife had been looking for. The calipers are Starrett, Brown & Sharpe and a rare Yankee. The bevel is a Stanley in nice condition and the push drill a Craftsman.
The final TOO of the day had this working DeWalt job site radio that charges batteries as well.

A bit of a slow day:
$20 for a Thorsen 1/2" drive socket "set' - less than half the original Thorsen tools - a mix and match, but the mixes included SO, Plvmb, Proto, Duro, Fleet, and other name brands. I did remove 11 "no name" and Asian junk sockets.
First pic is way over emphasizing the rust not near that bad or bright:
As found:
Separated; Thorsen in the box, No Asian, and the rest are decent names:
Second stop got some fishing gear ($5) and a bike seat (also $5) I hope is padded well enough to allow me to ride a bike...
And Last stop that had anything - 2 pr. shoe stretchers, and a Columbian C-43-1/2 Homeowner's vise, 3-1/2" jaws, 15-1/2 Lbs, I'll clean it and call it good - most of the paint is there. ( also have the C-43; 2 lbs lighter, 3" jaws) $7 all in.

After a good morning with the baby I went out bumming with my Mom. Finally got her to one outdoor flea market but it was late and they were wrapping. I picked up one Snap-On screwdriver. The seller asked me if I wanted to rescue it. Nice handle, needs a blade. $2.
Then we tried a pawn shop I’ve been meaning to try and they were closed! Next we tried an antique store I’ve seen busy and they were closed! Both on Saturday afternoon.
We proceeded to two Habitat stores. I spotted a Wright set with misc sockets behind glass, plus a few doo-dads.
Snap-On former test light and hex keys, a Sparta breaker bar, Bean-X kitchen gadget, Wiha hex,
4 sockets and extension are Wright. Condition is nice.
My big find of the day was at a nearby yard sale when I left the house. Again I was there late as heck, but this stuck out among all the usual garage sale crapola.
Chicago World’s Fair Globe Paperweight, commemorating 40 years, 1893 to 1933. $0.50!
I think it’s great. Missing the felt far as I can tell, but nice condition. The bottom rotates to display different landmarks.

SK diamond ratchet (frozen), Indestro breaker, Millers Falls push drill (needs cleaning), New Britain spinner (needs a ferrule), Mt1 Reamer, Challenger ratchet, Walden nut driver (type never seen before), Armstrong ratchet drill (two lengths) and Stanley 113 (Sweetheart era, rare knob). Everything came from dollar bins, except the plane.

I was running errands earlier today (EXTREME last-minute birthday gift shopping for my wife), and passed by two parking lot sales, with no time to stop (although I DID slow down, LOL).
No signage, so I don't know what they were doing (fundraising?). One was at a Polish (or Portuguese?) / American club, the other was at a restaurant. Looked like clothes and houseware items, no obvious tools or outdoor power equipment.

after not many interesting sales were listed last weekend there were a bunch this week. Nice to have options.
The 14” Channellock end nippers with the old school case is what I’m most excited about. Also got a set of no name import parallels in better shape than my current ones, Blackhawk & Snap On sockets, Indestro and Bonney flare nut wrenches, a Herbrand offset short dbe, Blackhawk ratcheting wrench, Starrett letter drill gauge, a Nicholson handy file- I like these, the ones that are single cut on one side and double cut on the other, Disston file handle, misc nice new taps and drills. The drill at bottom right has a strange pattern to the flutes, I swear I’ve seen it before on some special purpose drill but can’t remember where. Does this look familiar to anyone?

Nice set of metric Craftsman Pro offset DBE from another recently retired mechanic. NAPA ratchet and bunch of Vulcan stuff from folks kind of enough to let me cherry pick from the tool box of passed GM employee.
From the tool box cherry picking, Snap-On, Cornwell, Bluepoint stuff as well as a Klein and Xcelite adjustables

Love finding the empty socket trays because it typically gives me the heads up that appropriate sockets are lurking amongst the sockets strewn about in numerous locations. Snap-On partial 3/8 sets, deep SAE and shallow metric.

Started cleaning up the "Thorsen" set and I mentioned Plvmb; the 12" breaker is a 1/2" drive WF-37.
But the 9-1/2" extension is a mystery - the only mark on it is 3211. This maps to nothing I own, not even as a "32XX" prefix.
Not in Extensions anyway.
