I just got done in the shop. I had to remove the tailgate on the new pickup and test-fit the truck camper. The new truck cab is a bit higher, so I had to add to the existing platform to raise everything up. Worked perfectly, cleared bed rail, cab ,etc. Then had to clean up the garage from cutting all the wood then clean the shop from all the mess I made in there........................done for the day.

First I got my bicycle out and rode around picking things up for a project.

Then I pulled the bottom bracket out of the kids' bicycle and started taping it for a repaint. There will be pictures, but at 90 and humid, those pictures won't come today. I couldn't stop sweating while simply masking... Kid wasn't happy we couldn't even prime it today, but with humidity in the 60% range... I'm not wasting time.

Primed and murdered-out.

Neighbor bought a new pressure washer a few weeks ago. Used it a few time. Then it stopped running. It starts with full choke, but stalls when you turn the choke off.

Not sure what caused it, but there was a small amount of a gummy/jelly like substance in the carb. Probably clogged the pilot/primary jet. Disassemble, clean, re-assemble.

I sure hope I have the strength and knowledge (I certainly have the tools !) to keep doing this for a long time.

It's a good day when you get the job done and cleaned up in the same day

I don't believe that !

I have ALWAYS used E10 in ALL my outdoor power equipment and never had a problem.

I don’t believe it either. A couple of weeks isn’t long enough for gas to go that bad. I’d be more likely to suspect shipping goo that didn’t get sufficiently cleaned out at the factory before assembly.

Everything here gets E10 with Stabil added.

I got tired of always tripping over my weed whacker laying on the garage floor...
I was at Menards yesterday and stopped by the "Wall Hanger Stuff" department...
Saw this heavy duty utility bracket and single X- Track wall mount... Had to tweek the arms very slightly..

So because it has never happened to you it could never happen to anyone else?. Such a scientific attitude.
Agree.
Probably left gas in over the off-season. Gums up. The ethanol will eat some aluminum and such too. Pretty sure most of us here have cleaned out the emulsion tube and the jet. 3/4 holes. Adjusted float needle, cleaned the crud and cursed whoever did not put it away properly.
Side note: it did not snow hard enough this season for me to even undo the off-season prep. So I can avoid that.
Now does anyone here have a good excuse why I have them, an excuse giid enoigh to keep swmbo from complaining why we have them?

Just two weeks?! That had to be some leftover slag or crud. Including from the tank.

Smart move. Some even do stabil and seafoam in all cans.

Got a reprieve from working on the bicycle. She want's a *professional* to work on it.. & tomorrow will take it 80 miles to the shop she bought it from. She thinks it takes a special kind of tube because it's an E Bike, I'm not going to argue about it.

Sanded some of the gelcoat/filler on the drivers side of the F350. Noticed a spot I had ground out & forgot to fill on the PAX side. ******. Not too worried though, there's still a bunch of cracks to grind/fill on that side on the steps.
Used one of spiffy soft blocks I bought a couple of weeks back. One of them is the perfect contour for the lower part of the body kit.

Shouldn't, but often is in small carburetors. I sold a motorcycle because I got sick of cleaning out the pilot jets in the carburetors every time I wanted to take it out for a ride. If it sat for more than two or three weeks, it was certain to need a cleanout. Even the marine grade Stabil did nothing to mitigate the problem. I couldn't count the number of small-equipment carburetors I've cleaned out for friends, family and neighbors because they left them sitting for a month or more - often for the entire off-season - with E10 in their tanks and carburetors.

I guess it fits more in the garage thread....................................

It is hot and humid out.

I got done with the modifications to the trailer. I was tired of the little garbage plastic battery boxes on my trailer for the winch. I lost the first cover one on the way to MN driving out for Mopars in the Park this year, bought another, and lost that on the way home............ I like the size of this box. The battery will fit easily as well as the tie-downs for the car. (y)

Also installed wheel chocks.

I have heard from a friend of a friend that if you don't have any wheel chocks your car may roll forward when you release the rear straps.............this may or may not have happened to someone I know therefore I added wheel chocks :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Awesome!

My long stalled project is a ‘71 Barracuda vert being cloned to a Cuda. I have a ‘70 Challenger 440-6 motor and 4 spd, Dana 60, shaker, etc. Life, kids, housing, delays.

I bought the motor and trans in 1979-80 from guy that phone poled the car. Put it into my ‘72 Cuda hardtop. Bought Vert around 1983, 2nd owner.

Final raking and putting it into barrels the back yard weeds prior to the 4th; In one spot I need to hit with the weed eater again, and I still need to leaf blower/bagger for the seed/small chaff to reduce the weeds for next season. That was before it got blazing (74 at 8:30 this AM... Mid 80's shortly thereafter...)

Then I parked the T-van in the drive to try patching a hunk missing out of the bottom edge of the steering wheel -I suspect this is where the thieves forced the steering wheel bar lock over the wheel, but its on the wrong side (the PO told me it had been stolen in the city a couple of times...)

I got a couple of longer ball head pins and pulled the heads off, stuck the sharp end in one side of the padding. pulled it down and back into the other side, til the tip cleared, then went again into the pad again - this was so no pressure on the pad.

two pins and called it good.

Then I taped some wax paper so I had it positioned, and filled the missing chunk/gap with black RTV, tried closing, added a bit more RTV; and finished warping the wax paper so it has the contour of the wheel.

It won't be perfect but its no show van anyway. beater truck/camp rig...

From the Drivers seat waiting for it to cure:

I lucked out on a set of factory seat covers and steering wheel a couple of weeks ago and finally got around to installing them on my Saturn Sky. Of course, the seat covers, and steering wheel are out of Pontiac Solstice GPX going into my base Saturn Sky. Oh well don't hate  I had to get rid of the aftermarket vegan leather (plastic) covers over the factory leather original covers. seat covers.jpgold seat covers.jpg

Had a look at someone else's *garage* today.... There was a PVC line around 3 walls of the shop. Spotted this at the back of the structure...
Not sure exactly WTF the safety wire was trying to accomplish.
It's below the basketball hoop in pic 19:

Shes right! is will cost 3X more - plus labor :see: - from the repair shop because its "Special"....

Good lord, all that matters is the size. :wtf: Fit the size and it fits... - Does she take her car to the dealer for tires?
Nope, we use American Tire & always show up with a box of donuts for the guys.

No idea why she thinks I can't change a tire...
