Spiffed up an old ball peen hammer.

I bought this hammer for $2 at a barn sale probably 35 years ago, give or take, in the condition you see here. I have no idea how old it is, but it's antique plus 35 years; so, old. No brand markings on it. And believe it or not I have been using it in this state from time to time:

I picked up this BluePoint at an estate sale about 15 years ago...It was rusty with a broken handle. Got the head cleaned up a year later. Bought a new handle 4 or 5 years ago. Can't rush these things...

I got collared by a solar guy in Lowes recently while I was in the hardware aisle looking for some screws.
Said he just wanted to ask some questions.
Told him my *consulting fees* were $100/hr(iirc, may have been more), payable right now if he wanted to keep talking.
I held my hand out
He kept talking
Me, still holding my hand out: "$100"
He kept talking
Me, still holding my hand out: "What part of $100 are you having difficulty with?"

I got the sign on Amazon :)
When the "energy selling" folks ask if I pay the electric bill at my house, I tell them I have my own nuclear reactor. Typically, they don't know what to say after that.

I seem to have picked up a flue bug, so am resting and staying hydrated. The tightness in my chest seems to have passed. I was wobbly on my feet yesterday but feel better now.

I am avoiding working with power tools until I feel better.
Remember to feed the machine, it’s fighting a battle, and it needs fuel.

Does anyone know if there a transmitter and receiver dongle that would make the connection?
Late to the party, but I've used this in the past with success. I know HDMI to DVI-D adapters exist. Not sure about the Lightning. Or the item name may give you better search parameters? IDK.

This was mostly Saturday, but finished today by buying the 2nd wingnut.

IMG_5078.jpeg

Woke up with the idea and decided to get it done. Some scraps of 1/8” steel, and a couple of bolts. Except for the wingnuts, stuff I had already on hand. Bent the C shape. Cut the other pieces with bandsaw. Cleaned up the edges with grinders and flap wheels. Drilled some holes. Welded pieces together. Painted on Sunday.

The result is a much more secure mounting for this ladder shelf on my scaffold than what I had previously come up with.

The pin is probably overkill, but dropping a can of paint *****.

Got the desk pretty much done. Just have to put a wall cleat on to hold the backside up. I will also have to cut a hole through it for cords, just not sure where yet. I’ll wait till she gets the laptop on there, and the screens.
Had the wife’s company logo laser etched in then filled with black sparkly epoxy. Well, it was supposed to be sparkly. Looks more like dusty!! 🤨

And after getting it in there, I feel like maybe that back leg should be oriented differently to match the front one?
Thoughts?

I like that, and like that it has a right side "return" so you can rest the mouse arm.

On the legs, as long as she is not crashing into it with her chair or knees, its fine.

I personalty prefer to face the room, but have been stuck in corners at times too.
Thanks outlaw. I fully agree it would be nice but this room is small. Wouldn’t be enough room to get around the desk.
Our other option was to have the desk in front of the window, but it’s south facing and I felt the sun would be in her face when it’s coming around.

Did you try this company for parts?

When I was redoing the height adjusting mechanism they had one piece that many places said was long discontinued.
They did not have the other two pieces but they found them for me from some guy in Tennessee that had several hundred of what I needed!

i found them to provide great service. When I asked a question on their chat feature I got an email answer back the same day.
On the phone I’ve always spoken to an intelligent human that could claim English as their primary language
Thank you! I did get the parts I needed but claimed they were the last. Online confirmed, but I was always suspicious.
Thank you.
