I extended again as nothing was showing close by for sales, and I got lucky, (one of two planned sales, today one simply didn't open (after saying "come early, beat the heat!")

I'm guessing early 1930's on the stove - A Prentiss-Wabers Preway Auto-cook-kit Instant lighting stove - Based on paperwork I think this one is a 308?

As found open (under a bench outside):

No help on the tags:

another angle on lighting:

309 and 310 had cast iron grates and the same was true on the 409 series with 408 being wire grate, so this is why I think 308:

Big question is are you going to submit an order for parts? At those prices I'd be tempted to order 1 of each.LOL

Yes correct.
Thx for confirming!
I can’t believe how nice the cord is, condition wise.
Be careful still -a lot of old cords have rubber insulation inside on the individual wires, and can be crumbling apart. (My Old singer 221 did this, and something else recently...)

May be open the swift end and inspect the inner insulation?

1 sale today. Got a nice hitachi 4 1/2” grinder in a Milwaukee box 🤷🏻‍♂️. It came with a hand full of disks and is in very good condition, looks barely used. Also a few small clamps and brush set. Probably paid a little too much for the grinder but oh well. $50 for all

@Patrickm82 is that Hitachi thumb button a toggle type, or the spring loaded version -I'm not a fan of the spring loaded version as It separates the thumb nail so gets painful for days.

Still a very slow holiday W/E here, despite a "block Sale" of 3-4 houses out of over 50 on the block. one of two other sales produced, almost nothing for TOO's. Partly holiday. but I'm sure the heat also convinced many to not bother...

$8 brought home, Wiss #22 heavy scissors, Alum-A Seal, a machinist's protractor head, and a brass Schlage padlock w/key

@Outlawmws its the spring loaded type. I shut it off twice “not on purpose” when I was trying it out.

Do yourself a favor - if using it more than momentary, band-aide over the tip of your thumbnail to try to keep it from separating. That is about as bad as a big paper cut for pain.

That’s funny a guy at work just gave me this one this past week. An excelsior twin reversible. Whos got the 3rd one?
I wasn't going to post this but since we need a 3rd toaster--I got a Sunbeam T-35 "Radiant Control" toaster at a recent garage sale. It was a fundraiser for a women's group, raising funds for scholarships, nothing priced, pay what you want as a donation. Of course that meant we paid more than we might have otherwise, but I came home with a big box of interesting stuff and lots of books for $40 for all.
This is one of the Sunbeam models that lowers the bread when you insert a slice in the slot and then raises it slowly when it's done. There's no manual lift for the toast. I have at least a dozen more odd or interesting toasters.T35 Sunbeam toaster.jpg

Here is my find for the day, a Bauer modular storage box, retails at $40, got it for 10. No intention of using it as designed, but just as a big open box to corral other **** with lots of accessories.

Also got an Orbit sprinkler controller cheap, think it's just like my existing 9 station. A friend w their first house might need it soon.

The kids and grandkids were here for a visit but we snuck out for a few sales while they were mountain biking. We found a rack of mostly 1/2” drive Craftsman sockets at the first sale. FullSizeRender.jpeg
Tahoe holiday traffic kept us from the second sale. At the last sale we met up with a seller that I had passed a bunch of unwanted tools to a couple of years ago. She passed along a few items at practically giveaway prices. The coolest item was a Craftsman buffer/grinder in its original box. I might take a chance and replace the cord. FullSizeRender.jpegIMG_5436.jpegIMG_5437.jpeg
At that same sale I found a brad driver, some K-D snap ring pliers, an unusual Star

hacksaw, Klein crimping tool, some Waldes snap ring pliers and an Outlaw inspired brass hose nozzle.FullSizeRender.jpeg

Lot of running around today with not much to show for it. Most of the day was full of overpriced junk, of course I drove around all day and the two stops closest to home were the best of the bunch.

Day started off good, picked up this Challenger metric set for free off Craigslist

IMG_5789.jpeg

EC Stearns (I think) bike wrench for a couple bucks

IMG_5790.jpeg

Kind of a cool box, couldn’t leave it for $2

IMG_5788.jpeg

Last sale of the day, $10. Almost also bought a box of auto dollies and a Bonney hammer that had one end cut off but I regained my sanity just in time…maybe I’ll go back tomorrow😂

These wrenches are interesting…marked SAE on one side and Metric on the other, clip is Bridgeport. Missing one wrench unfortunately. Also a stamped logo Indestro hex set.

IMG_5791.jpeg

Then a bunch of misc, mostly =v= stuff. Armstrong extension, Proto pliers, a few other random sockets.

Just got back from a sale from a nice old man who had very nice tools. Apparently I missed the first day yesterday. He must have had a lot more. His prices were beyond reasonable. I got all this and two large plastic Rubbermaid bins for $36 total.

USA Porter Cable sawzall, CMAN USA gear puller, M. Klein and Sons dykes, indestro 3/8x7/16 offset, indestro 3/8x7/16 DOE, indestro 5/8x3/4 DOE, nice old PLUMB 48 oz hammer, barely used CMAN crowntop sharpening stone in the original box, and Klein and Sons Chicago 1604-20 cable puller which I will never use but for $1 couldn't leave it there. This is probably the first time I've ever gone to a yard sale and not tried to talk somebody down in price.

I picked up a Sanyo "turbine" fan cheap on FBMP for my son. The fan on the left is the "new" fan and the fan on the right is the original that has a burned up motor. The "new" fan is very quiet and moves a lot of air.

We hit a FM this AM but came up empty - I just didn't see anything I needed or wanted.

Well, it has been hotter than the hinges of Hades around here the last few days, which has seen my wife and I both milling around the house, as we are totally disaclimated to the heat. Which, in turn, as had me getting out to find a few sales and get out of her hair.

On the 4th, I unexpectedly found a few sales, as holidays are not very productive for me. The first two had tools, but nothing I was interested in, while the third was fairly interesting.
53841551971_750d8a19d0_b.jpg
New Britain breaker bar, Crescent articulated pliers, unknown T-handle, smallest spud wrench I have seen, Plomb tappet wrench, Starrett inside and outside calipers, Pexto wing dividers, and small as yet unknown wing dividers. $10

And on Sat, when we were looking at triple digit heat, I decided to head to the other end of the state, were it was even hotter! But, with nothing going on around here (no one is used to the heat) there were a couple interesting sales going on down were they are used to the temps.

The first of the two was a whole house clearout sale that happens weekly, but this week it was mostly tools. Here I found extra Plier wrench tips, VACO plier wrench set (missing wrench), Xacto drill in box, Xcelite ratcheting T-handle, Yankee #15, Mayhew pin punches, Craftsman DOE, Combo, DBE and flex driver, unmarked hand vise, Fulton driver, turnscrew, Vacuum Grip ignition pliers, Williams black oxcide sockets, and Plomb adaptor. $10

Then I hit the sale of an old picker, way out in the hills. By the way, this was a sale that Outlaw would have gone nutz over. Lots of old camping gear, fishing gear, shooting and hunting stuff, cast iron, tools, etc. Just not too much I was interested in. I picked up the auger handle and AMES runout gauge with an interesting mounting system for $20. But talking to the old guy was interesting and worth it. Native, an ex-cop, ex-machinist, hunter, ran pack horses up in the cascades, had a million stories about a million topics.

Wish I could have seen that one BMW!

One Estate sale - one date 5 hour and Clear-out prices.

Mostly tools; I did leave behind a 1977 Coleman 2 gallon jug. Original box, nice shape. Just no interest.

Bridgeport hex drivers, Stanley Hurwood No 20 and SO drivers, Mac pick, Utica lineman's pliers, Bat post cleaner, A window molding removal tool, and a Whatzit...

E1-Bridgeport-Mac-SO-Utics-BP-cleaner.jpg

the Whatzit is solid steel; no moving parts, maybe for a tripod stand for a transit?

E1-Whatzit.jpg

A 1965 AA map of tte USA, Leviton GFIC, and an aluminum eyeglass case

E1-map-GFIC-Aum-Glasses-case.jpg

Brand is "Eagle Eye"; turns out not that cheap - I had to reinstall the lenses and they need a good cleaning. I'l give thme a try. If nothing else spares to keep in the rig when I lose or destroy a pair...

E1-Glasses-case.jpg

Wrenches: Thorsen Partial Conmbo set, A coupel of DOE Toyota's, and igniiton wrenches, 2 Meteor, 2 Cornwell, 1 Herbrand, 2 Vlchek, and a Craftsman: -- $25 all in for everything.

bmw, that Ames indicator on the sled is a cylinder bore gauge. There were various tips and extensions for the indicator plunger to accommodate the range of bore sizes.

Edit to add a photo of the Ames kit:
