^ The "salesman's press" is removing your trousers, lifting up the mattress with one hand, and carefully laying your trousers down on top of the box spring and then laying the mattress back down onto the trousers, so they're "pressed" when you get up in the morning.

^ I wasn't kidding. That's how it's done. Real old-school stuff.

Can anyone shed any light on the intended use of these unusual pliers? The only markings are Made In Germany. As can be seen in the pictures, the jaws are smooth and of unequal size and the tips are angled. When closed, the jaws only meet at the very tips. Overall length is 140mm (5 1/2").

Neighbor brought this down and I don't have a clue. No marks other than 45 or 90 degree marks. Long arm around back roles the cutters for cutting angles. Thanks.DSCF7887.JPGDSCF7888.JPGDSCF7889.JPGDSCF7890.JPGDSCF7891.JPG

I’m always going to pick up an ell handle when I see one at a sale. I kind of expected this one to be marked Snap-on or Blue Point but I haven’t been able to find any markings. Any thoughts?IMG_6210.jpeg

Pootatuck Mfg makes the Lion a big brand, Oliver is another. Beware of the blades, when sharp, they can remove fingers. Many people build blocks to jam in there to keep them stationary when moving it.

This is not a “cut to length” tool. You cut it a hair long, then take a plane type shaving off to get a perfect fit.

Another what the heck. It is threaded on both ends of the lower barrel. And the other looks like a gun sight. Thanks.

That is the gas cylinder from a US rifle M1 Garand that someone has altered (sporterized) removing the front sight protectors, the bayonet attachment lug and stacking swivel. It is only threaded on one end for the gas plug. made of stainless btw.

Thanks a million. I knew someone like you would pop up. I know some guys that may need it.

The fella who altered that gas cylinder probably envisioned something like this,, in the 50`s when surplus rifles were cheap and ammo too,, a few got "sporterized" although a better choice to start with would be the M1903

My father had a sporterized '03 rebarreled to .270. Nice gun, but he sold it many years ago.

I have had few when they were cheap. But way to heavy.

Yes, I know, its a fork and spoon set. Beyond that it gets different:

Camping type, (they had SS versions in plastic "bags" per set as well) these are not steel of any sort. Like those camp sets, these two link together, less than 1/4 turn.

Marked "NickAlumin" and Made in France. Google is not my friend (man is that getting bad...) googling just Nickalumin, got me dielectric characteristics in the microwave GHz spectrum... and a bunch of stuff on differnt languages... some in Russion

I'm assuming a combination of nickle and Aluminum, they are very light. O'ne old Eprey sale claimed it was French military, But admitted it was speculation on no evidence.,

If it was French military I'd expect to see more hits...

So what the heck is "Nickalumin" and where did these come from?

^ Only "military" if you're trying to peddle it on ebay.
Looks like the stupidly heavy, oversize, and cumbersome stuff one of my sisters gave me that came from Eddie Bauer.
WAY too heavy for backpacking, but "car campers" can haul everything.

These are super light. The first thing I noticed when I picked them up:

I did a "comparison" weigh to our SS comparable tablespoon and fork:

Nickalumin: 50 Gr

SS: 100 Gr.
