Boy that looks like a real honey hole! Is there dates on the wrench rolls?The other interesting sale was an estate, showing a bunch of lawn mowers and electric motors, and mentioned that it had a "shed full of tools." Well, it sounded just OK, so I went there second. Should have gone first. That shed was a garage, packed with all kinds of stuff, very little priced or disturbed, just the way I like it! So, here is what I found:
Let me tell you, there are few things I like better than a sale were you have to really dig, just get in there and find the gold, and this was one. An ex-mil ignition wrench set, drill bit catalog, industrial switch, Craftsman puller, nippers and a Renault wrench (I love auto marked wrenches).
And after I left (needed to use a bathroom) I went straight back!
a second wrench roll, Williams extension, Blue Point DBE, magneto tool, MT2 adaptor, hex adaptor, and various sockets (MAC, Billings, Walden, Chrome X, Plomb). And what was in that second wrench roll?
A complete set of Vlchek black oxide DOE's, along with a Williams S wrench and a Ford wrench. All together I spent $20 at that sale, and loved every minute of it!
The next sale I went too, well, I didn't even make it too the sale before the piss poor driving of the attendees and ***** actions of the neighbors turned me away. Or, I would have like to turn, but instead had to back down a one lane hill in the rain as people do not understand right of way (person heading uphill has ROW) nor that you and you friend need to allow people to back into your driveway to allow them to turn around. Then I headed home.
Those are my favorite kind. I can find bits in places where others have passed by or have picked clean. I also like catching sellers off guard by thinking outside the box and finding things that they hadn't thought of selling yet or forgot about.
Pretty sure I have that exact same (yellow) power reel. It's buried behind the TV, so I'm not going to dig it out for a pic, but I think I've had it since the 80s!

Finally 2025 pays dividends! $11 for a Leigh D4 dovetail jig, I’ve wanted this 12” guy forever to replace my porter cable.
and a random box of random for $6: of note is the marples cranked neck chisel and a Yankee no 50 which I didn’t even know existed. It has a 3 jaw chuck which is cool though I also found a set of Yankee bits in the $6 hoard.

So far, this year has been pretty dry for me. However, that’s been due to a lack of time/just too beat after work to make my usual thrift store/ReStore stops. However, I did make a recent ReStore stop and came away with a pair of JBL Control 23 speakers for $10. Can’t complain about that. 
. I’m currently waiting on a couple FBM sellers to get back to me about some tools, updates if/when that happens.

FBM seller one of two responded and for $15 I came away with some decent stuff. The top tray has all Pratt Reed Craftsman screwdrivers, RP Craftsman wrenches and one Snap-On wrench. The bottom of the box is mostly import stuff, which isn't a bad thing. 21MM 1/2 deep impact socket and a 1/2 drive HF impact extension will be going to work as I use 21MM there all the time and you can never have enough impact extensions. There is a Diamond USA adjustable wrench and a pair of Craftsman slip joint pliers in there too. Pretty good deal overall 
They do and they sound great. I looked the speakers up before I bought them, it was an immediate "yep, they're coming with me" after seeing the retail price on them.

Today's flea market had a full group of vendors, but weather forecasts calling for snow discouraged the buyers. Despite no snow, and no rain, the turnout was slim. I found some items I liked, and one that was too interesting to pass up.

Not bad for $25.00.
The M.R.S. MULTITYPE WRENCH was too interesting to pass up for a buck. It looks like Herbrand used that name for their earlier combos, but they had a different beam design, and the open end has a larger angle. Maybe a contract piece made later, as the open end angle matches later Herbrand production. The beam design is very different.

Went back to the estate sale for half price day and made an offer on this lawn tractor lift. $50 was too good to pass. The second shot is with a Kubota G2160 loaded up. That tractor weighs 860 pounds. I haven't tried it with a JD diesel but I believe it should take it.

I was able to do a preliminary sorting of the haul I got yesterday. Here's some photos of the good stuff. Top photo is all Snap-On/Blue Point and a metric Mac Tools Sabina, OH combo wrench set/roll. Missing the 17 and 18mm.
Next is a mix of sockets. Mostly Snap On, Mac and SK but also some other USA brands. Still needs sorting.
Next is a box of wrenches. Mostly Mac including a set of SAE saltus wrenches.
Next is a box with screwdrivers. Again, mostly Mac Sabina, OH (wood handle) and a few others.
There's still a few boxes of miscellaneous automotive tools. Overall I'd say I did ok for $200 all in.

Nothing real big. However the first Emporium Specialties (ES Tools) I have ever run across.
Another wrench I did not recognize the name was ROCO. Looked up ROCO tools. Irish company and they make ICON. Looked up their ICON 1100 and it is a multi ton Rock Crusher. I have not seen one in Harbor Freight Stores.
ES Wrenches: 7/16 comb, 1/2 comb and 9/32x5/16 obstruction.
Wrenches: Thorsen 2020C 11/16 comb, ProAmerica 2018 9/16 comb, Wright 1112 3/8 comb, Proto 3018 5/16x1/4 DOE.

Today's Habitat Restore finds. Paid a total of $1. I also donated a heavy box of tools filled with extra wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and some other household goods. When I went to checkout the cashier says: 'This box of screwdrivers just came in if you're interested in more tools'. What a hustler. I guess she forgot I handed her the box of tools just 15 minutes prior.

Nice find. The milled opening sizes are GMTK, or jeep, GMC, and several other onboard toolkits + 1 (the largest, an ISN 33C), but neither came in a rollup. What's the full FSN? I see the 41. A shot of the wrenches would help. I am guessing immediate postwar.

Talk about a small haul. It was an estate sale with loads of tools--but almost exclusively well used Pittsburgh.
Out the door for $1.
I just got through today's haul. I paid $50 for everything from the same seller that sold me last weekends box of assorted Bell tools. Originally the seller was asking $75 and didn't go through the box very well and didn't want to beat them up on the price so I decided to pass. I thought the price was a tad high but I did see the SK swivel head ratchet which was the one tool I definitely wanted from the lot.
Fast forward a couple days later I happened to notice that the seller had lowered their price to $50 and at that price I wasn't going to pass it up or try to get it for less but for the $50 I did negotiate the addition of a box filled with misc. nails and drill bits which they were asking $10 for. That extra box happened to have a rusty 1" Snap On wrench as a bonus.
Snap On: Fairly rough bit of tools here. The ratchet will certainly need a rebuild kit and the ratcheting wrench is shot so maybe I can get these warrantied. The 1" wrench is totally rusted through on the other side but it should clean up. The 1/4 t-handle is mint and is my favorite of the group besides of course finding the 10mm wrench.
A couple of my favorites: I never find ANY Plomb tools around here and a 3/8 swivel head was on my list of basic tools to get. It feels like new.

When not in possession of "the tool", a Sawsall works well to remove Schlage locksets.
Diamondback steaks. Pickled Lubber. Mesquite honey. Prickly-pear jelly. Jojoba butter. Pitaya jam........

Thanks. I can't read it all, but it doesn't matter that much. It pertains to the bag, not the wrench set, and the wrenches are probably original to the bag and contemporaneous to the date on the bag, as I suspected.

I swear that if I ever find a saw around here that isn't a Disston (or a Benchmark/Mastercraft/CT special), I will buy it just for the novelty.
