We have a winner! From what I can find, looks like it was offered from Fall/Winter 1948 thru Fall/Winter 1949. Doesn't appear in the 1948 Hand Tool Catalog, and price dropped each catalog (down to 13.50 in F/W 1949) before it disappeared. No drawer slides to speak of, and the locking mechanism is simply a U shaped piece that slides into cutouts on the side.

I will try and find a picture. Currently, it is covered in all kinds of stuff. Three/four drawers on the left, and sliding partition under the middle/right side, along with an overhang (power outlets both below the workbench and on the top overhang).

I did (semi-)recently find out that the peg board back was covering a half-wall, which had separate outlets and a breaker built in.

It was on the site for around 10h when I contacted the seller. Most likely it was somebody local as he wanted to discuss it the next morning (I am working the weekend - was trying to either go on Tuesday or next weekend)

Can anyone ID this vintage toolbox? I picked it up for $15 and it's a nice heavy one like MAC/Snap-on/Craftsman. It has no date/mfr stampings anywhere on the sheet metal. It appears to be 1960s based on the carry handles and the handle on the front cover, both of which are the same on my 1960s MAC. What's different is that I have not seen these drawer handles or slides before. The slides appear to have some type of built-in stops, not the detachable spring-clip type used on Craftsman/MAC and not riveted clip type like Snap-on (and so far I've been unable to remove them with my handy-dandy modified saw blades like I can on my Craftsman/MAC/Snap-on boxes). It's been repainted, the original color appears to be hammered grey for both box and drawers. Any ID help appreciated!

Just got picked this today and thought the folks here would appreciate it. Waterloo rolling tool chest combo from 1976. I'm a new homeowner and was about to buy a US general tool cart but found this on the marketplace instead. It was in decent shape and just did a quick cleaning, polish, and wax.

Welcome to GJ, Singjai! Nice Wilton!

Be careful with this site - RUN BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!! I started with a single Snap ON KR-56 and I am now up to 4 bottom boxes, 2 mid boxes and and 9 chests (with couple of smaller boxes and never mind the tools...)

(...though my tools are mostly in 5 boxes at this point as some of the boxes are awaiting restoration/cleaning/being used...)

On the serious note, there is probably 95% of all tool knowledge between the members of this site!!! They definitely told me majority of what I know about tools and brands (THANK YOU COMRADES!!!) !

This popped on FBMP about 7-8 min away, so dropped by and grabbed it. Outside seems re-painted, has an extra latch on the front and missing the handle. But it has the cover, and hard to go wrong @ $10! Worst case, it becomes a parts donor box for others... The other Heritage machinist box I have is more of a silver hammered, this is a grayer version of the blue-gray wrinkle inside the drawers.

Here it is sitting on the Heritage cart up-thread. It is a bit smaller in width than ideal, but not so much it is noticeable.

Edit: No idea why the inside of the drop front is so blue. Guessing repaint, as it is much a lighter shade than the Long C Blue.

So I finally found an older pic of it, and some others from when I was taking down the pegboard. Eventually, I plan on replacing the work surface and redoing the center outlets to make them more usable (playing around with the idea of setting up an isolation transformer for those to "float" ground when working on electronics).

Oh, and you really DONT want to know what I paid for it...

If people would like any detailed pics, please let me know. As I mentioned (and you can kind of see on the right edge), there is storage space behind the two horizontal sliders under the workbench on the middle/right side.

I think I had posted it in the Pressteel thread before, but happy to do so again.

Hey all, here's one I picked up last weekend, with a bit of help from @Outlawmws getting it into the truck. Didn't get a good pic, cuz I was too busy to make space in the shop for it.

The clean up process was kinda gross, there was lots of grease on the bottom flap, and the slides had tan grease in places where it did no good at all. Over half a roll of blue shop towels, simple green in both full strength and 4x dilution. The drawer faces got some Meguiars Cleaner Wax as @four.cycle recommended in another thread. Took an abrasive wheel to the small knob to remove the rust. Pulled the lock out, a key is en route.

This label caught my eye as I walked up. The New Britain Machine Company , Blackhawk Hand Tools, New Britain, Connecticut, USA "Symbol of Service Proved Quality" label. The lower frame cross member is stamped Made in USA 12-69. Edit: This is slightly before the 1972 Litton takeover.

When Outlaw and I loaded it into the truck, I did not doubt that it weighed more than my old Craftsman roller, but 120# surprised me. Seeing the rollers gave me a happy feeling about its abilities. Once my new shed arrives, this will be moving into the shop with my RemLine circa 1998 as a top cabinet, greatly increasing my tool storage space, and replacing two parts quality cabinets from Craftsman and Kennedy.

Oh, and the goodies found inside. Those books can be yours for postage!

Edit again: I got my new keys, and polished the lock face up, unbent the flap mortise hole, bent the hooks on the 2nd and 3rd Drawers’ latch hooks. The whole stack latches and locks when the bottom flap is closed and locked, now I can move it around safely.

Ok @tool_scrounge

.... the wheels on the each of the slides and of on both sides of each drawer are the stops

The drawers can be pulled most of the way out.....
however, when the wheels hit each other, that's what stops the drawers from popping all of the way out

I picked this one up off Craigslist last year for $400. I felt it was a fair price. It was in good shape, but I had to replace a couple of drawer slides. I can't complain it was manufactured in 1974 and the slides were still available from Snap On. The only downside is the drawers have built dividers.
