Continued on a side project for the moneypit baja. The typical VWs, used air pressure from the spare tire to push windshield washer fluid to the sprayer nozzle. This was eventually replaced when mexican made beetles came with electric pumps. I cannot find a less than $200 source for these systems. Reading online, at thesamba, others have switched out the pneumatic to electric. So I ordered a microswitch, less than a $1 each. When they arrived I set about converting the mount to hold the switch. Printed a holder to match and utilized the existing plunger system with the new switch and 3d printed mount. Currently made from pla may print from petg. Completed and ready to install! Couple hours and a 10 spot for electrical washer pump switch. The black tubes are the old system.

Today is my 10 year retirement anniversary. It took me about six months to reset but now it’s the best time ever.

Congrats! I'm on year 2 and so I glad I did it. Although 6 months in I took a p/t job which I enjoy and its only about 4-6hrs a week doing contract compliance.
As others have said, I think I'm busier than I've ever been but the nice part is that the priorities and deadlines are all self driven.

the two extensions can be unbolted - then reassembled once you put it back on the cabinet base. Sure it takes a bit more time, but might save you a hernia if you don’t have a hoist or a couple of helpers. I’ve done this exactly twice in the last 40 years with my 66. Once you have it set up, it will last forever.

Congratulations! I am looking forward to that day. Just turned 60, plan is to be done at 62. I feel that I have plenty to keep me busy; big yard, plenty of projects to tinker with out in the shop, maybe work part time and/or volunteer. My younger brother plans to retire in a couple of years but has no hobbies, all he has ever done is work crazy amounts of OT, 500+ hours at least per year for the last 10+ years.

Yesterday, decided to round up all the cast iron parts that had accumulated in the shop over the years and load them up with my scrap aluminum for a trip to the scrap metal yard. I always try to wait till I am sure I have enough to cover the gas and the car wash afterwards - place is always a muddy mess. In the process, I discovered I had a brand new pair of Brembo front rotors for my MGB that have never been installed and which I forgot I had. The joys of retirement!

Stepped inside to get the key to the lawn tractor to bring a trailer full of yard waste from behind the garage. Then hauled it to the dump and put the trailer away. First garage time in 2 weeks. We made a whirlwind tour to Jacksonville, FL, Las Vegas, San Diego, back to Jacksonville, then home. Good to be back home.

Cleaned a cruddy breaker; not much else, but the last working day was successfully completed, and farewell and exit interviews were completed with no tears, but both my boss and Kiley, one of my now former staff, came close!

I will miss them all, and i got lots of nice things said about me, and I believe most all were totally sincere.

Slick ride. I'm too chicken to do coil-overs on my Foxbody, been a few stories of them pushing through the body sheet metal in the rears. Just a shock alone did so on my sister's Mercury LN7 way back when.

I'll be watching... Looking at the design the spring loads in the same place the OEM spring does (on the 1969 Mustang), so I am not that worried about it. Pretty thick metal in that location.

I went with a QA1 kit.

Good to note on the foxbody though. I'm interested in finding one, but haven't found one that I thought was reasonable yet.

Have had on on my wife's Jeep Commander for years. It has been perfect. Makes for a tool-less oil change. I also have a hose on it that I just tuck up into the frame. Can put the hose right into a jug and open the valve. No tools, no drain pan, and no funnel. Filter swap still needs a small drain pan, but the valve is slick. They make different outlets for them.

If your bike engine is air cooled, the engine and oil will run much hotter than a liquid cooled engine. I'd for sure ask Fumoto about such before trying. I'd also only get the genuine name brand one, not an off brand clone.

I have not seen a single report of them pushing through on the front though, and I have looked hard.

I bought a zero-rust 83' T-top manual trans car for $5k last year. Runs and drives, fresh engine. Body good shape, interior compete but 3 colors, which I want to do myself anyway. Also just pulled the trigger on a Tremec T56 Magnum for it with the threat of tariffs in the air, don't need an already expensive trans to get 25% more costly overnight.

It was a very nice sunny day.
Garage door open, grabbed tools as needed.

Rotated tires on my F250, afterwards I was under it checking things out.

Recently I had purchased Hyper Tough 1/2" impact as a backup to my trusty/well used DeWalt DCF899, think I bought it close to 7 years ago or so.

Today was a good test for new impact, 32 lugnuts each at 155 ft/lbs.

It also gave me an opportunity to get a feel for trigger control, pretty good for $99 plus tax.

I did use a battery adapter with DeWalt 5AH battery vs battery it comes with (4AH).

Plan on getting a pair of 8AH batteries down the road, it really uncorks this impact from what I saw on Torque Test Channel - YouTube.

Monday afternoon I found an oil leak on my f250. Couldn't get to it till today. I was 90% sure it was the crank case vent. It was a slow leak just enough to make a mess. I noticed when I pulled the old one out it was broken at one of the studs hold it to the valve cover. That's where it was leaking from. The new ones in just need to clean up my mess.

Well that didn’t happen….didn’t feel all there to cut up a pig tail. Just kick back and order the blades needed that I can’t find.

+12 today so gonna put the one ton behind the big door and run the bronco for a bit. Once I see it get up to temp on the Temp gauge, and the voltmeter proves battery is getting charged I can do under hood wire clean up. Gonna be a lot of wire loom holders and zip ties being used today!

Today was full of ups and downs.

Started installing a filament sensor on the 3d printer and discovered I was out of blue loctite.

Went to clean out the chicken coop and every wagon we have had a blown out inner tube on one tire. Luckily the fertilizer spreader has the same size tire as the smaller wagon. Unfortunately, it's on a different rim. So I pulled the good tire from the spreader and put it on the hub for the wagon.

Started cleaning the coops and one of the doors had rotted enough to fall off the coop, so I had to pause and build a new door.

Luckily, my 11yo son was a big help and kept cleaning coops while I had to keep doing side projects.

So now he and I are out getting burgers and when we get home we're going to race rc cars before I change the oil in the truck.
