Helped the wife clean the engine compartment in her wagon. Sprayed some Gunk engine degreaser in the back area and then sprayed if off with the garden sprayer filled with water. She then got in and cleaned with All Purpose cleaner and rags and then washed down with the garden sprayer.

Then I decided to clean the garage fans that have never been cleaned before....

I installed the new Protect Pollinators license plates on mom’s car. The other one’s are going on my wall with the rest of my plate collection. The screws almost broke off so I applied a little dab of anti seize to them. Toyota uses metal screw holders in the back and it causes all kinds of rust. We always have to extract the broken off screws at work. Glad these didn’t break off. This is the forth set of plates on this car since 2017 when she bought it.

I decided today was the day I would clean up my workbench... Did a bunch of pitched some, shelved some, drawered some and hid some...
Looked at my clean workbench for a few minutes... Looked good... I knew I could do it....

The clean workbench lasted for all of about 30 minutes...

All set up now to start refurbishing my recently acquired Atlas 618 lathe... Got the ultrasonic tank filled with HF degreaser....

After two decades of hating the entry door knob, I replaced it with a lever handle lock. I actually used it about 30 minutes later as I had both hands full and used my elbow to open the door!
This was one of the best suggestion a guy at the lumber yard had for us when we were building our house.

Isn’t there something so satisfying about completing a task like this?

Cleaned, flung, put away. Reorganized. Installed the casters on the new weld/fixture table. Fixed the timer on the big battery charger. Replaced the evap purge valve on the Escape. Did some analysis on a fried oscilloscope. Organized the CNC laser crate. Started redoing the soldering station case.

Backed things outside to use and surveyed the mess.
IMG_3272.jpeg

Swept up said mess so it doesn’t build up to the point that I can just scrape it out with the skid loader bucket.

Backed the planter in and began to go through it. We usually take lots of stuff off or kind of off to check wear and tolerances. The seed opener discs and scrapers needed to be replaced this year. It’s one of the more expensive wear items on the planter. They were almost 8yrs old and the 24 of them were a tad over $1,000. We replaced a few other misc bearings and a few closing wheels as well. All in around $1,500. Not bad really !!

I placed my snowplow in the rear of the garage and fired up the classic Pontiac,

You're brave. The dogeater, plow and Dingo are right there at the front of mine. Last year I put em away, and we got the freekin late March ice storm.

If I did that, it would guarantee a huge Spring snow storm!
How bad do you guys up there need the Snow/water? lots of places are in drought. Maybe you are missing a bet? :see:

Rain will suffice. Or snow on another weekend. There's no way I'm tempting fate around the last weekend in March. The NWA paid big money for a venue, and expects thousands of attendees. Not going to scotch it.

No picture trust me its ugly managed to break my nose changing slicks on a Jr dragster! These damn things are dangerous!
Knew a guy that got his nose completely peeled right off his face changing an r22 truck tire. They drilled a couple rods into his face and forehead and built him a new nose, it looked pretty good. And as a party trick, he used to bang a beer bottle on it..lol He wouldn't break the bottle, but it made a pretty noticeable clinking noise.

I had a stack of chains to sharpen so I got to work cleaning them. A strong pour of Simple Green and a good hard brush to clean the crud off along with a super custom chain washing board make short work of this mundane task.
IMG_3286.jpeg

Once they’re sharp I soak them in a pail with some light penetrating oil, 2-stroke oil and some 0w-20 for a few hours. I hang them to drip dry and stick them in a ziplock the next day labeled with size and grind specs.

Made some new table saw blade holders.

IMG_2697.jpeg
These were from some 1/4” cheap ply from Lowes rather than Baltic Birch. I 3D printed the center post rather than gluing in a piece of 5/8” dowel like I’d done on my previous ones. Pretty happy with how they came out.

IMG_2698.jpeg

It pretty much fills my blade drawer.

I noticed that my MFT was not giving as clean of cuts, so filed in the kerf with a combination of bondo and epoxy and sanded it flat.

IMG_2699.jpeg

It’s good for another year or so.

You don't just jam a bunch of random blades in the bottom your skillsaw carry box?😁

Or have a bunch of 10" diam blades laying at the bottom of a miscellaneous tool box drawer?😁

Clearly I am not a woodworker as my woodworking is limited to minor framing, making supports for electrical fixtures, spacers and ramps for the cars and other small stuff, with occasional ripping of sheet goods for sub floors.

No way would @kaymccampbell let me attend an NWA meeting.

Last week was pretty nice and some of my grass started turning green so I brought all three of the riding mowers in for an oil change, lube job, put dressing on the belts, and put fresh slime in the tires. I used to sharpen the blades, but someone named "I don't know" keeps taking the mowers and hitting sticks and rocks with them. I've given up on the blades and think I'll just start replacing them every other year.

No pictures, technology isn't allowed in my garage.

Got off my **** and joined this Franklin moving dolly and my garage air compressor.
This little compressor is fine for my present need, typically I only use it to air the tires, nail gun and such tasks.
I am mostly corded/cordless for the rest.

For now I have it zip tied on, should it misbehave I will drill and hard mount.

That dolly has been gathering dust for the past few years, initially I bought it to make my own rolling tool tray.

Idea was to find a well used baking pan and screw it onto dolly. Ended up buying HF tool caddy on sale last year or so.

Loaded up some big pro-audio speakers for a marketplace deal. Soldered up some custom cables for him too.

I was so glad to have finally sold them. These speakers were idiot magnets! I got probably 5 "is this available" and 3 promises to buy per day. No other item I have sold recently has been such a correspondence nightmare. I get that people wanna dream about having big speakers. But don't involve me in your dreams! Dream without hitting "send" lol.

Did some low level puttering today. I needed a home for the miter gauge used with my SWAG band saw table so that I can stop knocking it in the floor. I usually slide it under the table when its not being used, but it gets covered in sawdust and swarf. I took a piece of 2 x 3 tube and carved out a bracket to hang on the work table front leg and welded it on. While the welder was out, I welded a piece of 3/8" plate to the other front leg to attach welder ground clamps instead of the table top. Then I swept the floor and blew out the dust.

You would be welcome. We teach. It's our primary goal, to spread the gospel of good and safe woodworking.
Woodworking safety I'm extremely conscious of, especially when I really had a shop teacher who was missing most of the fingertips on his right hand.

Turning out good craftsmanship while woodworking s a whole different story.

I cleaned up and painted some shock mounts for my 86 Mustang. I also did the usual try and organize, dispose of, and list stuff for sale. I have sold more in the last month than I did all of last year. Last year I had items that were for sale for 6 months and never sold. I only sell on CL. I list a few items on here, but small things cost too much to ship, and large items can't be shipped. I normally think of listing stuff for sale later in the spring.

I stripped apart the rotary drive shaft on the Seadoo Rotax 787 so I could replace the seal and o'ring. Then I went ahead and assembled the low end with a brand spankin' new crankshaft. Of course that was after I wire wheeled the huge amounts of factory threadlocker off of the bolts. These are always just absolutely covered with the stuff!
