In the garage - sharpened four of the Long-Haired General's kitchen knives with my new Worksharp Ken Onion sharpener.

At the shop - finished disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of the Dana 20 transfer case for Project Buckshot and began reassembly.

In the yard - de-thatched 1/4 of the front yard.

Finished these two Barometer holders. The more attractive unit goes to a very good friend, the other one is a way less expensive unit and is on the power panel in the garage via rare earth magnets.. One more to build for the house however the barometer ordered is on back order.

Both are very nice. Putting something on the fuse panel like that gives me ideas. Thanks.

Finally got out to the shop to grab mower, trailer, and chainsaws. Forgot that it was in the middle of an oil change. Finished that up, replaced the air filter, pulled the deck, hooked up the trailer. Gassed up a couple of chainsaws and headed out front to finish cleaning up the mess from storm last november. Parked mower & trailer back in shop, unloaded yard trailer, enjoyed a beer until I got too cold. Locked up and headed inside.

Got Grampa's drill press mounted on the cart of destruction:

Suggestion for the DP/Grinder roller - cut some 1/2" or 3/4" ply to fit the top, then remount.

Two benefits: reduced noise, and you can lose the angle reinforcement for the back of the DP as the ply keeps any flexing of the sheet metal to a minimum.

Not as creative or sophisticated as some of you, but I did replace the air and cabin air filters and the wiper blades on my son's 2010 Impala. Bought it as a high school car back in 2018 and I never expected it to last long, but he's managed to keep it going. The wiper blades were installed in 2019, so his standards may be kinda low.

Changed the small factory battery on my Ariens XD zero turn mower to a U1 L. As I expected, that little project took longer than it should have due to the weird configuration of the battery compartment. I looked up some comments on google after I first saw the arrangement and some people wound up having to make some modifications to just install the larger battery. I joined the club.

Nice work. However, I like that red beauty in the background better.

This was a regular circular saw? What brand and model?
Normal 7-1/4" circle saw, I think its an old Ryobi one.

Impressive! Almost zero burr and only slightly warm to the touch. Cut almost as fast as wood.

Last day of the current flyer sale at PA so gonna grab some more zip ties for 2.88 and heat shrink at 50% off, might grab the bed net too for a future idea of mine.

Then it’s onto MOUNTING brake lines then watching NASCAR. Might find time to put the seats back in, or at least the drivers side one. Some tires and propane tanks need to be moved around in the shop too.

Yesterday I drained the gas out of the snowblower and ran the carb dry. So it'll probably snow next week lol.

Wife comes home and says brakes are making weird noise in her santa fe. Since there is camaro all over the garage, I dragged the quick jacks outside to pull the wheels off. RF caliper isn't behaving. Argh. No one has parts local, so rock auto it is. Dealer parts are stupid $$. I want to get rid of this car by next year before the engine eats itself. Now I have a job for next week lol.

Happy spring!

I have 2 barometers in my garage. None as nice as yours.

One was my dad's, big industrial one, mounted in a simple piece of aluminum. I just couldn't throw it away.

And then this simple cheap one that was at my grandparents house. I took it to remember my grandpa.

Yesterday, my brother used one of these Diablo metal cutting saw blades in his circle saw to cut 1/4" steel plate. UFB how well and fast it cut! I will be buying one.

Those blades are fantastic. I have one on my corded saw right now and one in the case with my M18 battery saw that I've used at work. Cuts 1/2" plate steel like plywood. Very clean cut, just watch out for all the shavings it throws. I wear a shop apron when I use mine and a magnetic pickup tool to clean the area afterward.

Agreed!

I was shocked how it went through 1/4” plate steel like cutting plywood!

Intended to change the oil on my Ariens snowblower and put it away for the year. Noticed a little gas and discovered the fuel lines weren't too good. The small line from the primer bulb was gummy on the end - cut 3/4" off that and reattached it. The 1/4" line from the fuel tank to the carb was all dry rotted and cracked on the end by the tank, and the shut off valve wasn't actually doing anything. Fished a new piece fuel line through there, added a new right-angle shut off, hit all the grease fittings, checked the belts, and changed the oil. Now she's in storage (back of the garage) and freed up some more workspace for spring projects.

I had planned to spend a day (or so) replacing the leaking o-rings in the oil cooler of my 7.3 (non-turbo). However, after removing the front wheel and cowling I discovered it looked more like a week+ trying to get things off and back together. I decide this is one of those rate times I have a shop do the work.
I've done the oil cooler on this one. I went down the path of new everything from Riff Raff Diesel. The flushing of the coolant system is what takes so much time, as I had oil in my coolant. I think I flushed it 10x over 2 days. The cooler on and off was the easy part. It's always been a second vehicle, so if its down, zero concern for me.

There's two kinds of naps. Just a regular nap where you fall asleep and sleep till you wake up.

Then there's power naps. A short nap where you fall deep asleep and get much needed rest in a very short period... setting an alarm if you need to.

At work, I will power nap, I wait till I am virtually falling asleep sitting watching something or the like. I pull my bunk down and set the timer on my phone for 23 minutes. Three minutes to fall asleep and sleep for a solid 20 minutes. Timer goes of, get up feeling rested. Usually a power nap will not screw up your night sleep pattern.
I learned by accident/ default, 12 min is the magic number but you have to elevate your feet. The results called for some research...Google it for a complete explanation. I do it on my lunch break routinely, my guys call it the "My last name 12 min power nap" its not much short of magical. I use an office chair and a table that's just shy of being to tall to be comfortable.

Got out to the shop after noon coffee w/ the inlaws. They come over almost every Sunday for coffee and chat. Took the angle grinder wire wheel to the mower deck and through on few coats of paint. Will see if that help with grass debris. Greased mower zerks, set tire pressures, checked spark plug, and cleaned push mower air filter. Tomorrow I will get blades installed and the deck remounted. Will clean up the push mower deck and swap out the blade and check the spark plug. It isnt due for an oil change yet, I do it every other year on that machine.

I suctioned out some ps fluid out of my wife's CTS PS reservoir and added a bottle of Prestone PS fluid with Stop Leak. (The old fluid wasn't discolored and the level wasn't low)

Amazingly the PS pump growling has all but gone away. Let's see how long it lasts. Hopefully long enough to recover from unexpected veterinary and dental bills.

After 25 years my Ryobi BE321 belt sander drive belt shed it's teeth so I'm rebuilding it. Replaced one bearing which I had in stock, lubed the others, and was lucky to find the toothed drive belt ($$) on Amazon. Parts are getting scarce for these older models. Luckily the wear shoe can be easily fabbed out of a scrap of sheet metal.

Made a mess. Got my **** kicked by a tube. Spent a bunch of time digging under a dash blowing out mouse **** and other debris. then looking for plugs to connect and power to the blower motor.

I've built a cage for an FC RX-7. Tube bending/notching is as much art as science. If I was to do it again I'd just cut the roof off, and weld it back on since it's no longer structural.

When I revisit the COD, and GDP I'll probably get some 7ga to cover the top of that box if I don't find something more robust in the meantime. There was a '50s Craftsman roller cabinet for sale here a while back should have snagged it, but was too busy. This box was gifted to me by one of my co-workers. It was in his carport for years so it's faded, but solid. Had a lot of good stuff in it too among the junk.

Installed some Ciro Bag Filler light on the '15 limited. Im usually not a fan of extra, or add on lights, these are more for safety. I communte in the dark sometimes, and they dont look terrible....

the middle has an amber "plasma rod" for turn signals, as they are run , brake , and turn indicators.

Not enough lights. Where's your saddle-glows and luma-tennas?
