I haven't driven my Camaro enough to really say, then again, I'm deaf so what I hear is different than what everyone else hears. But I know Pypes is a highly regarded exhaust system among the second-generation Camaro fan base. I have a set of dual on my Camaro and I'm happy with the fit, it's just the driver side headers which are hookers I believe is too damn low. I plan to put mid-length headers and get the proper extensions to attach the mid-length to the Pypes exhaust system in the future. For now, I'll drive the car with the scraping.
Pypes makes a full bolt true dual for the 64 C10 and it is my next purchase for that vehicle as the exhaust dumping in front of the rear wheels is way too obnoxious and I want it coming out the back. Damn I am getting old!

That's why I swapped out the original dual exhaust I had, it was dumping the exhaust fume out in front of the rear axle under the car. I wanted the fume to go to the rear bumper also.

I wanted a little more power from my Vega GT so I had the jets in the 2-barrel reamed out, installed a ****** header, Cherry Bomb header muffler and a short pipe that exited in front of the rear wheel. Most of the year I drove with the window rolled down and the hearing in my left ear suffered. I'm pretty sure waxy fluid leaking out of the ear is a bad thing.

Headlight upgrade finished up on the Z28...what a nightmare. Built the harness and had everything routed and hooked up ready to put the covers back on...then it wouldn't kill the highbeams...what the hell?! After realizing I had voltage crossing over, 5v to be exact, I realized it wouldn't let the high beam relay open back up. After lots and lots of diagrams and unsuccessful attemps to fix the problem I finally have it working properly, and on top of it have the fogs wired up so they will come on with the high beams as well...maximum nighttime light!

The harness:

That car looks great. I didnt care for that body in my teens but it has really grown on me as I have gotten older. Be nice to have that extra light. I always wire my Jeeps to keep fogs on with high beams.

Thank you! It's what I drove the last couple of years in high school. They are finally coming into that collectable status.

More light is always better!

My buddy had 2 of them in high school and a few years after high school I helped him pull the 305 out of the car in preparation for a bigger engine. Never got back to help with the install but I believe he still has that car.

The 6.0l that I have in mine is definitely light-years ahead of the L98 TPI 350 it had when I was in highschool. Puts 425hp to the wheels... definitely has surprised a few people...including some C5/C6 Corvette owners that had their nose turned up 🤷🏼‍♂️😆

It also handles like it's on rails!

Nice output! Ls2?

I used to not care for that bodystyle, but once you see one that's clean and a solid color they have a a lot of great body lines. I can't wait to see how the restomod community treats them? You are starting to see a few highly modified ones pop up and its wild how much they change with a few subtle tweeks.

After looking at your car and thread I found myself looking at an 88 Trans Am last night. All 1 color but in need of an interior redo and some serious hp upgrades.
Lots of aftermarket available, and more parts coming on the regular. Places like Hawks Motorsports make sure to keep them going.

Well...this weekend got real in a hurry.

Last night I posted my Banks exhaust for sale, less than 24hrs later it sold. No turning back now!

Pulled the exhaust off from the headers back today.

Got my new pipes and muffler ordered and started fabbing with the stuff I keep in stock.

I'm going to miss the looks of the 2OTL, but looking forward to the new adventure.

Mocking up process:

The first y-pipe I ever built. No lift, flux core welder, and new learner welding skills. This is almost embarrassing to show:

We had the wind here too but none of that white stuff. The wind blew so much there was a haze of dust in the late afternoon, like there was a smoldering fire. The humidity was in the teens which it never is here. Still a little windy today but nothing like Tuesday.

It blew up here.

These were in my fence line, but they are actually a transfer line. The power coming to my house is on the other side of the road. We were without power for a little less than an hour, but nothing bad. We are a mile away from the sub station, so we are usually fixed up right away.

Yikes, those poles have needed replaced for a day or two!

Glad you made it through, wind always ***** when I blows hard like that. When we'd have 60mph+ winds back in western NE it was time to "hide" in the basement with a drink so you didn't have to watch the dirt blow!

Exhaust is done and on the Z28. It's quiet...almost too quiet. Rasp is gone, its deep, and the muffler almost covers up the cam. I'll probably end up going with the 20" case Dynomax Ultraflow in the end, but I'll give this muffler a month to burn in.

This weekend has completely kicked my ***. I'm not going to post pics of the new y-pipe, because quite honestly, I'm not happy with the end result. Is it better than the original...yes....but, after I tacked it up and removed from the car to finish weld, everything shifted...so, I got to cut it apart and start over. Not cool.

Weekend started pretty rough, I came home at noon on Friday to get a jump start on the exhaust, only to find ANOTHER skunk in my front yard. I had dispatched one Thursday night prior. Pulled a .17HMR out of the gun safe and took care of the stinky varmit digging for grubs in the yard. Realized after I had put the gun away I left the lense caps off the optic, went to open the safe and it made a funny sound as I pushed the first number on the keypad. Dead battery I thought...nope. After a battery change, a 1hr round trip to buy a new key pad, still no joy(and being overcharged by 60% no less)...I'm currently locked out of my gun safe...not cool.

So I focused on the exhaust. Had it all mocked up and paint drying late Friday evening, just ask @XJSuperman & @Blackbyrd...they saw the pics.

Fought it all morning Saturday, finally took 3 steps back, punted and cut/fixed/welded/hammered/heated/etc.

Future SIL for daughter #2 brought his AR10 over and we installed an adjustable gas block that afternoon. Spent some time dialing it in so it would cycle with his new can and got the optic where it needed to be for his hog hunt coming up in a couple of weeks.

Finished the night with some pizza, beer, and the mini and I watched Clint Eastwood clean house in A Fist Full of Dollars.

Son #1 commented he didn't have any brakes on his current K1500. So we dove into that today(Sunday)...it basically went how most of the weekend has transpired. Two initial trips to town, him learning that these pickups have multiple different brake setups, and now me currently waiting for him to get back from St Joe, MO with the correct parts no one local carries.

To say the front brakes were toast is an understatement....more on that later, he just pulled in the driveway, haha, wish me luck!

So yeah...the right front brake hadn't been functioning in quite some time. This is only the second time in my life I have seen one this bad in person...

1000001780.jpg

All fixed, new rotors and pads on both sides...new caliper on the passenger side to repair the exploded unit.

1000001785.jpg

This pickup has had more hackery done to it in previous ownership, it still amazes me every time I have to put hands on it.

Son #1 said it stops really well now 🤦🏼‍♂️🤔😆

A weekend full of busy work. I'll be mowing in 7-10 days, so I went over the Spartan, sharpened the blades and gave it an oil change. The big tractor had a flat tire that was off the bead, so that got repaired and I removed the snow skids from the bucket(tempting fate this early in the Spring I'm sure).

Then the neighbor brought his JD Gator over for an oil change. Went over it on the lift and checked everything out. Pretty easy to maintain, less the oil filter(which isn't terrible, but not the most convenient location).

Pulled the Massey Ferguson 8 lawn tractor out to install the "new" fuel tank that's been sitting on the shelf for a couple of years. To my surprise it fired up pretty quickly and ran well. When I went to shut it off the ignition switch would not kill the engine. Cleaned the grounds and played for a bit, nothing seemed to work. So I started diagnosing the 4 pin switch and let my test wire touch something it shouldn't have...killed the coil. I now have parts on order for the old Tecumseh, new coil, condenser, switch, and a plug. Points looked great and apparently have been changed, I did reset the gap as they were a little tighter than the .020 spec. With the X724 gone from the stable, I'm going to need this little tractor to spread fertilizer this year.

Too bad you can't put the smoke back in the coil.

Cody...that coil and condenser are the original parts from 1975, blew me away. I'm not sure how many hours I have put on that tractor, but from the time I was 10yrs old until I was out of college it mowed the farm once a week during the season, pulled the trailer for garden duty, and got a lot of foolin' around miles put on it when I wasn't on the Honda 185S.

Still battling the MF 8 mower, I'm waiting on a NOS set of points for the Tecumseh. If that doesn't work with a new condenser...I'm done with the Tecumseh. Tractor will get sold or repowered.

In other news, I've been focusing on the Z28 to ensure I drive it more this year. Upgraded the sound system with a Kenwood Excelon 10" sub. Built a custom box for the trunk well. Probably should have spent more on the amp, but this Blaupunkt had really good reviews. Initial thoughts...wow, it hits much harder than I expected. Just a touch under 1 cubic foot by the dimensions. Also upgraded the charging wire from the alternator and the out another heavy ground off the battery.
