Man I hear ya. I ran a few errands before heading to my shop. By the time I got there, it showed 67 on the inside thermometer. I did what I could but by the time it hit 70 inside I was like, enough already! Had to sit down, grab a beer and contemplate my progress for the day (hours). I'll try again tomorrow. it's supposed to be in the mid 60's.
Man, I feel for you!

My shop today:

With the swamp cooler going as strong as it can.
What I want to know is where are the ramps?
Outlaw hit it. Under the car, in the center.

Where do I buy that model? Does it come with a model of the Silver Arrow?

After looking at my Nickel plating solution from yesterday, there seems to be a bit of flotsam and lagan that need to be gone...
Grabbed a coffee filter and funnel and filtered the solution, keeping the good stuff... Coffee filter worked great...

The Caswells guide to plating recommends that you put a filter around the nickel electrode (a coffee filter works, an old cotton sock does too) to prevent that from happening. However, I've had problems with it when plating anything ferrous. Filtering is a good solution ;)

What's your electrolyte? I've been using nickel acetate, either bought or home-brew.

Home brew...
I'm aware of the electrode sock/filters... Figured I'd go without unless it becomes an issue...

I have a project in my attic that I do early mornings, I enter via a scuttle hole in the main house garage.

I have two wireless remote sensors that let me know the temp up there.

I added a wired sensor which is more accurate. This morning before I went up I glanced at the remote monitor.

I feel like it was just Satan letting me know, that while it starts out fairly cool, it will soon be hellish up there this afternoon.

After messing around with my car a few weeks ago with a starter replacement, it resulted in what seems to be a miss. I've checked all the connections and made sure I returned the plug wires to the correct order and all the other stuff I could think of.
This evening, I went back out to the garage and pulled each spark plug on the passenger side and inspected and cleaned them. They didn't look bad to me. BUT, after reinstalling, I think it may be fixed! Did a drive around the hood, and the miss seems to have disappeared. Hope so. I'll check again tomorrow. I'll also go ahead and do the driver'sIMG_2794.jpegIMG_2802.jpegIMG_2801.jpegIMG_2801.jpeg side.

Drove it 25 miles this morning without a miss. Nice and smooth now. Small victories are nice.

Left my garage door open for ten minutes while I ran over to a neighbors. Came back and saw a chipmunk in my garage. They will make me pay for that every time, they must be trying to beat the heat.

I whipped up my special recipe, walnuts halves and peanut butter.

I had him within ten minutes of setting the trap, I gave him a ride to our farm field and let him out with a warning.

He was probably back at my house before I was!

And it makes for a delicious and nutritious snack!

I once worked on capture-recapture studies on rodent populations. Our bait was peanut butter and dry oatmeal (your chipmunk is seriously spoiled). We ran the traplines well before breakfast (and every two hours for the rest of the day), so about half the "bait" we used went into the field workers instead of the traps.

Good afternoon everyone,
86° & mostly sunny.

After work this morning I got the driver's side door panel back on,
spent a couple hours in the woodshop this morning,
this afternoon I cut the grass since it is supposed to rain some the next 5 days.

Dinner is the last of the Chinese food.

Not much else going on here, too hot.
Have a good rest of your day,
Mike.

Assembled a Proof Of Concept planter box to show to the nursery that has been selling my stuff on consignment. The joints are not pretty but they can get an image and make an estimate of the market ability of the idea.

Lessons learned include that the nominal sizes of Cedar Fence Pickets are not uniform.

I will have to check them and resize them as necessary to ensure uniformity. The nominal 6” picket is usually 5.5” wide, I should process them before I try to make them into something pretty.

I had AI make a picture of how pissed the chipmunk would be if he found his way back to my garage.

Chased down a parasitic current draw on my BIL's truck that had been draining a new battery in a couple of days. Turned out it was a courtesy/puddle lamp on the driver's door remaining lit after all delay circuits had timed out. It wasn't so obvious, given its location down low next to the driver's seat - easy to overlook, especially in daylight hours. He was fine with having me just remove the bulb, rather than get into the guts of the door. Draw went from around 290mA to around 10mA. Done.

Yep. Roughcut fence boards have loose tolerances. That can be ad advantage for building a rustic fence, but awkward for building pretty boxes. You'll figure it out.
