You have to love boating. The first splash of the toones (sp?) or the hull and my problems all go away. A boat is like a floating cabin with my family. Love every time we go out or sleep on the boat. Yes, they are expensive but the front screen door never needs replacing. 
And the lawn never needs mowing.

Ohhhhh I can imagine! My cousins are there right now. About 14 people. One house, 2-3 boats, I don't know who all took them.
Love that place, this is making me want to start planning a trip!

Remember a couple pages ago when we were talking about our wives and boats and trailers etc.
. But it's just a trailer, nothing to get all worked up about. No damage to the truck at all. You got a learn somehow, sometime. She did pretty good considering you have to pull in our driveway forward and then make a complete 360 to back down a seperate driveway to the barn. It's like a big "h" and the barn is at the end of the hump not the straight.

I am always amazed when me and one of my friends hook up a truck and trailer or back one into a really tight space. It’s usually a non-verbal exercise with simple hand signals and nodding of heads, one shot and done. And we all agree that it is an impossibility when our wife or girlfriend is in either position! My wife now drives and I spot, much less suicidal thoughts that way, for both of us!

She usually just pulls up and leaves it in the driveway in front of the garage and I back around the right awkward corner and down to the barn, but she has been wanting to learn since she takes the girls and the horses out alone and she wants to help more with the boat when we go out. So yesterday when she got home without the usual warning she didn't say anything and just gave it a try. She got around the curve all the way back to the barn to unload the horses. All I had to do was put it back in its parking space beside the barn afterwards, so I'm impressed and glad she's willing to try/learn. When we are at the lake she usually holds the boat while I go get the truck and always says why do I need to earn when I have you and you can do it. I always remind her that when she takes the girls trail riding other people aren't always 100% guaranteed to be nice and courteous and if someone else leaves her in a bad spot she needs to know how to get out.

She has however not yet shown great interest in returning anything to it's proper indoor position after use though
. The boat and flat bed both go through the same door/bay. So the flat bed is a bit tight when that's all you need.

I have made some more progress on the bath. Hopefully I'll have the vanity and the toilet working by days end. (Between bush hogging the field that desperately needs done).

I was going for the booby tassel look to slice up the room a bit
. Hahaha. They are backwards for now so they didn't get bumped carrying it through the house. The string is just so I can open them to fix it later.

I literally just got done beating an almost identical dent out of my neighbors brand new horse trailer. Did it mostly from the inside, used a big rubber mallet, a piece of 2x4 and a couple of different dead blow hammers. Got it 95% without removing the diamond plate. Took about half an hour. The steel behind the aluminum actually made it easier to get the outside dent to the point that it's barely noticeable; didn't worry about the sack of walnuts on the inside.Remember a couple pages ago when we were talking about our wives and boats and trailers etc.

That's what I figured. I figured eventually I would bang it out from the inside, it's easily accessible right there in the tack room.

Ehhhhh it's half done. Good enough for gov'mt work. Yes waiting on more stain to dry. Had to get at least a few pieces done before I couldn't get my nail gun in those spots.

My wife wanted a really deep tub. All the oval, slipper shaped whatever you want to call them that we looked at are fairly shallow. I thought about going with a claw foot which I think would have looked great but they are also a bit shallow. But more so the 2.5x the cost changed my mind on that

The mirror is in the process of being painted black to match the hardware and the medicine cabinet above the toilet. I got the stained casing on the door this morning and next the jam and actual door itself will be stained dark walnut to match all the wood trim. I also have a new black trimmed glass door for the shower.

Thank you. I am in the process of staining, sealing and replacing all the baseboards in the whole house to match those.
. They are 5-1/4. I like a beefy base lol.

What's the advantage of fiber Internet? Is it more stable? I have the T-Mobile 5g Internet station that they offer. It's a flat out the door everything included exactly $50 bucks a month. My speeds are 173 download and 97 upload. A guy down the road has privately run conduit and installed boxes at every property corner and is as of this morning in the process of pulling fiber. He is offering Internet to everyone on the street for $49 a month out the door. He will sell you a router at his cost or supply your own and he will direct bury wire to your house from the road box.
First of all. The Vermeer boar machine, the conduit, the wire, the boxes, the labor (it's taken almost a year to get to this point).......how is the venture even make sense financially? He said he will guarantee no rate increases and no throttling ever. It's $49 a month for 100 and $99 I think he said for gig.
Is this worth it for us if what we have is "working"? And then just a curious question how is he going to make his infrastructure money back with so few houses on the line and no guarantee that everyone will even sign up and use it.
The only thing we can think of is he is planning on selling the line later to another company and that's his out and return/profit. But.....he's been putting boxes and conduit and line on private property, there are several places where he's outside of the easement and no permission was ever asked. He's got a line run and junction box a good 10 feet inside my property line, in a field that we hay. He just installed all of this all the way down our road and a few side streets without really anyone's full knowledge. I thought this whole time it was ATT, but nope it's just a dude down the street.

I work in the fiber optics industry and this is certainly very odd, if you were to tell me that he is "helping" people by tapping into a "fiber to the curb" installation by an ISP (internet service provider) like cox, comcast, att, etc., that would seem more reasonable. But from the way it sounds, he would have to be leasing dark fiber from someone, but that doesn't add up to me how he could be installing without an agreement from the county and even more, how is he making the guarantee that rates will never go up?
Not saying its not legit, and I don't know all the answers/angles, but I'd want to understand more, personally.

We went on a walk this morning and he was out pulling cable. I talked to him for a few minutes and asked some simple questions but what questions should I really be asking here? He has plastic boxes in the ground at pretty much everyone's driveway and says if you want fiber he will direct bury from that box to your house. He's a little odd, and it all just seems strange. He says it's all private, not a public utility, it's just his. Why would somebody do this. He's has to be sourcing the Internet from someone and just redistributing it? TO be honest I don't really know how it all works so that might sound ignorant. I'll try and snap a photo but there is a huge box at the corner of his property and that's where all this is coming from.

Here are the mains he's putting in and then snaking under the road and putting these smaller boxes for the opposite side of the road. We went for a long time with just these stubs hanging out everywhere! This picture is about 10 minutes old. This one is still in my field. I asked him about it this morning and he said oh we must have missed that one everything is supposed to be done haha.
Frontier is an ISP, my company works with them all the time, my guess is that he has signed a long-term lease to rent "dark fiber" or formally dark fiber from Frontier and then is building his own network. He must have a certain number of fibers coming into that big box, could be 2,6 or 12 or 24 fibers, just depends on how far he is going and how many, "homes he is passing."
My speculation is he has captured a "small portion" of available homes that Frontier is not willing to deal with....but that being said, this has me very curious, so I reached out to a guy I work with, I think he will have a good idea how this work, but is in a meeting for another 30ish mins.

One house had wire pulled already pulled to the curb, it was 7/22 ? my dad said he saw on the wire ?
The wire on the main side of the road was huge. He's probably passing and trying to capture......about 40-45 houses between the 3 streets he's been doing.

Ok - so I just talked to my coworker, he said that while it is not common, it is certainly possible and he has actually helped work on these smaller networks and that there are actually even large(r) ISPs that have started out just like this.
The big questions would be:
- Who are you leasing fiber from? (guessing Frontier)
- How long of a lease did you sign? This will dictate if/when you could see an increase
- How many fibers did he lease? How many homes do you plan to pass? What is the potential for more fiber to be leased?
- Do you have a list of existing users I (you) can talk to?
- Can I (you) sign up in 6 months / 1 yr?
- How do you address any issues if someone digs up a line and breaks a fiber? What is your repair and recovery timeline? (backhoes win every time)
- From a curiosity standpoint based on the funding:
- Are you being funded by BEAD / BABA, which may explain where the money is coming from
I'm sure there are tons more that could come up in conversation, but those are some of the right questions to ensure you don't get left behind.

ok - so thats not a lot, but that plus some additional rural subscribers could make for a nice long-term revenue stream. The big thing is how does he stay relevant with speeds as equipment ages out, or does he plan to sellout with a guarantee to have pass on these lifetime costs?
