I got it unstuck. Problem is, it unstuck the wrong end.
The lady on the phone said the steel pin went UP into the aluminum casting.
I got it all apart, cleaned it up, and tried one more time to get that pin out, and stupidly broke the casting on the upper portion.
Definitely not life and death, but I could order a brand new one tomorrow morning from the factory for not much more than I paid for this.
I'll give her a call in the morning. I got the pin out from the lower end, but it doesn't freely spin around.
UGH

Might be time to dig out my JB Weld? (Who's going to notice when it's 16 feet in the air?)
UGH

Drove up to Bethel and picked up
24 inch steel tool box for @Shocker
monstrous piece of rail track $10
Packard 1/2 HP 3450 RPM motor $20
Dayton 1/3 HP 1725 RRM motor $10
Fulton eggbeater drill
G.M Mfg. Co. eggbeater drill
Sears Roebuck & Co. 727-12421 5 ton bottle jack with instruction manual and home-made handle $10
Drift punch
Cold Chisels
and the star of the show:
Witehall Products Ltd. cast aluminum weather vane which unfortunately is frozen. The nice lady at the factory said it's just a steel rod going up into an aluminum housing, so I'm guessing it's galled in there good and proper. Soaking with Kroil and crossing my fingers.

Not sure what I was thinking when I picked up the 24-inch-long piece of small gauge rail track. Another one of those "It seemed like a good idea" things.

(* @Shocker - if you're interested in that rail anvil or the motors let me know. BK)
That packard motor sure looks like a kingston-connely motor.

I went to an ES this morning. What peeked my interest from the picture were what looked like out building. One of the buildings looked like it might have been a shop before it was crammed full of storage boxes. When I arrived the property was packed with people, mostly in the house and car port. I went around the side of the house to get to the buildings in the back. There were only a handful of people picking through the out buildings, no lights out there. I had my trusty small flashlight. Looked like the toolboxes had been removed before the sale. I dug through the old wooden cabinets. Lots of Chinese tools. Here is what I came away with, $25 plus tax.

Dunlap 12” toolbox
Proto Los Angeles 1/2 6016 torque with box and paperwork
Frederick Post 1142 drafting instruments
7 1/2” square. [any ideas on maker?]
Super-Quality (Indestro) box wrench 1/2, 9/16
Giller 3/8 ratchet CS43
Lectrolite box wrench 25/32, 3/4.
Small magnetic parts tray
Crucible horseshoe magnet
Craftsman Red Rouge buffing compound 9-2874
Griswold no.8 small logo cast iron DO lid. 1098B

i could not locate the bottom to the Griswold Dutch oven. The lid will easily pay for my purchase plus once I restore it.

One sale today while I was dropping off a sold item at the Post Office. The pictures had shown enough tools to make me interested. Many of the tools came from a briefcase organizer, and some trays on a table. I'm thinking based upon socket quantity the company sent the field tech out with the sockets/wrenches only in needed sizes. The Billing & Spencer set was a surprise when I got home as to how it is nearly complete. I grabbed it after a quick look and the ratchetsockettool was mixed in. Left behind was the camp stove @Outlawmws I can go back if its worth something to someone
Billings & Spencer 1/4” drive socket set 3/16”-7/16” 6 point,1/4”,5/16”,3/8” 8 point
Crossbar, sliding tee, ratchet, offset ignition wrenches
Hinsdale ignition set (partial)
Barcalo DOE wrench set
Indestro Arc joint and slip joint pliers
Vlchek doe
Blue Point Supreme 3/8” x 7/16” doe
Snap On 2@13mm combo wrenches
Snap On 9/16” combo wrench
Snap On 1/4” drive sockets 3@5mm,6mm,4@7mm,2@10mm,4@13mm
3/16”,7/32”,1/4”,5/16”,1/2”,9/16”
(Unmarked) Snap On screwdrivers
Craftsman screwdriver
(Unmarked) 5/16” x 11/32” doe
SK 3/8” dr 6” extension

Challenger 3/8” dr 15mm deep 6 point

Looks like a GAZ? If so, probably not of much interest to anyone. Obsolete, out-of-production canisters that don't reseal so can't be removed until dry.

I accidentally brought home a GAZ stove/lantern combo with a couple of canisters a few years back, in hopes of flipping or trading them in the Coleman community. I still have them after a couple of meets.

Otherwise, nice haul!

Timm nailed in on all accounts. I have one and a couple of fuel canisters, but its a shelf queen (came with the stove transport canister), or emergency use.

3 lbs of black powder.

Are you sure that you want to mess with potentially old black powder? Do they date cans?

You are braver or more knowledgeable (or both) than I am!

I use that model Kennedy as my main box, only I made one small change

I changed the two thin drawers on the left for a second, deeper drawer. Works great for me.

One more from yesterday, between selling, buying, hunting I finally treated myself to the matching dust door for my 1946 Unisaw. Found it on Ebay, paid good money for it, but it's here.
Sweet! Are you using one of the older jet-lock fences on your saw?
