Wonder if this will become the wonder collector tool for Matco, like the S/O pink stuff..........Saw it the other day online, didn't really see a need for a rainbow bright ratchet!

The only thing is; I don't know anyone who collects Matco tools or paraphernalia! Have you found any websites dedicated to collecting Matco tools?

I saw those a few months ago at our district meeting. I thought it would be cool to have one, but, at the time I had to buy it & 4 other ratchets just to get one of them. I figured that I would just wait till they were available individually to get some for the truck.

It's OK but I think those ratchets are too wide in the hips. With the width in the hips it's probably no more effective than a reg 36 tooth teardrop ratchet.

Snap on offers a kershaw knife with the same finish! Is it gay also? I think. Its a unique finish and a lot of people are runnning their mouths because its not snap on or "the norm"

Exactly. If Matco makes it, then it's a gay piece of ****.

If Snap-On made it, it would be hailed as the greatest thing since the invention of the wheel.

Reminds me of that color you could get on Chevrolet Tahoe's a few years back, GM called it Bermuda Blue or something like that.

Didn't CMan have a ratchet with that same finish a couple years ago?

I think the Cman one was either all blue or all gold.

Overall, Im not a big fan of one off finishes. Although I do like the matte chrome on the european brands.

The Kershaw Ken Onion Leek models with that finish are great. I think it's cool, but looks probably are a bigger issue for knives than ratchets. I wouldn't pay extra or buy it just for that finish. It's actually a practical finish for tools, very hard and durable.

That ratchet looks ok but I will stick to my chrome ratchet's. Hey sorry for the stupid question but I haven't handled any of matco 88's before and I was wondering if they have the crappy plastic forward/reverse lever like Craftsman's? I can never tell by looking at online pics thanks.

Looks cool to me.

It really is a wonder Snap-On hasn't done some in red like those blue Craftsman ones. I mean, red is their trademark color.

Here's a bad try at rendering it...

Its metal. Only Cman that has a plastic selector is the raised panel.

I have the 15", 3/8, 88 tooth ratchet. So far I love (got it a few days ago).
The guys in my class liked it a lot too.

The only problem I see with it is the USA stamp...

I've seen the ratchet and it does stand out in a crowd. The 88 ratchet is a great ratchet on its own with or without the different finish. Will I buy one of the multi hue chrome models, no. I prefer the Green handled version.

I will have to agree with the comments about if it was a Snap-on tool it would be raved about. The percentage of Snap-on tools in my box is twice that of Matco, but a good tool is a good tool reguardless of who's name is on it. I also don't drink just one type of beverage either.

I have seen lots of things with that type of finish and I don't like any of them. Just a matter of personal preference I guess.

I once remember a male friend of mine that wanted a Nintendo DS in pink. I think his reasoning for wanting one applies here as well...

"How many people would want to borrow it if it's that color?" :D

On a side-note, I had a small Craftsman socket that was ready to be warrantied, but for the longest time, my Sears store was out of the 1/2" 1/4 drive in 6 point.

I was bored one day and wondered what would happen to it if I took the weed torch to it, the chrome took on that same patina.
