Kudos
John; for starting what he must have known was going to be a flame feast and persevering with calm and reasoned responses, for re-entering a filed and doing so with some risk (as no one that I know of has taken HF to this level), AND for being an english major (or at least well enough to defend his use of it).
Bull; for standing true as a Mod in the face of the flamefest and keeping this thread interesting, interactive and productive.
autoace and mrholeshot; for steping up to what could have been bad vibes and in one case repositing his position in such a way as to not ofend and apologise for any unintended offense and in the other case changing his position and fessing up.
Warranty
The HF warranty has less meaning when the closest store is 90 or 300 miles away than it does if it is 4 miles away. I shop a little HF when I pass but it is a 3 hour drive on Interstate for me. Ergo, I shop more Cman.
Receipt requirred
If buying multiple class of tools on one receipt that must later be shown for warranty, try this. I agree, it should not be necessary, but if it is it will make it simple.
Make a database of receipts. Just number them serialy, 1-whatever. Ok, in the db list each item on that #1 (or whatever) receipt. Tools can be listed by name, part number, date of purchase, class or category of tool, etc. This can be indexable and show almost instantly which receipt a particular tool is on. Just file your receipts 1-whatever.
Can punctuate a sentenance, turn a wrench and has an impressive array of tools, wow.
Dave.
