I like vintage Datsun roadsters and 510s (yes, there is a car for everyone) and have a vintage Datsun dealership sign on one wall in the shop:

A newer dealership Nissan sign on the other wall:

Shop specs: 36x48 pole barn with 6" slab with radiant heating. I have a loft built in it now (made with pallet racking) with the cars parked underneath... worked out really well!

discarded Patio Tables make great signs

The North of 49 Garage sign is an old mdf 40" patio table.
The Foothills sign is a steel patio table (the button) and a sheet of mdf (the foothills script).

I had my neighbor's sign shop make this 4 foot sign for my garage. I used a spotlight mounted on the ceiling to light it. It's 3D with the different plaques sticking proud from the white background. The car is actually my car.

I love the old Dealership Datsun sign!

You have quite a collection of roadsters. I got to drive this one at Road Atlanta back in the early 80's when it was in Georgia.

I have my AMC dealership sign temporarily hung above the bar but the more I see it there, the more I like it. My Sunoco flag, my club banner and a 8'x4' American Flag.

guys I found summit racing sells alot of signs and banner if you need to decorate your garage quickly instead of collecting each one.. also alot on ebay but alot of fake banners too.

 

[The Hot Rod Grille]

Here is a pic of a couple of recent additions to The Hot Rod Grille. The large sign was painted by Harley Warrick, the last Mail Pouch barn sign painter and dated 1988. Mr. Warrick passed away five years ago and his paintings have become quite collectible. The smaller sign is a NOS tin with wood frame piece from several years ago. Both signs were acquired from the estate of a local "car guy".

Go to eBay if your looking for old dealership signs or banners of any type. they have a great selection, might have to keep looking to fine the ones you want but sooner or later you will find what your looking for

eBay has been a great source for me. While I have yet buy anything don't forget to check craigslist. Just search signs, you will find some cool stuff and close to home.

This greets me as I enter.

The skis are an old set of wooden Cypress Gardens that were scored in a "bulk" pack at a garage sale for $20 for 3 sets.

The rest are this and that from summit and other places that have been forgotten. I got the round ones for Christmas.

Mostly its decorated with junky VWs and motorbikes.

Hey FL Javelin - did you ever get your lighting for that sign figured out?

Not really. I just hung it up on the rafters to get it off the floor because I almost stepped on it a couple times, however the normal lighting there lights it up pretty good though only one side. I think I will add lighting to the other side and just leave it there, its kinda grown on me there.

Thanks guys for the kind comments about the Javelin. While I love nearly all muscle cars, I just really love the lines of this car, my third I've owned. It always draws a crowd, it even just got featured in an all AMC magazine.

I love this thread, I love seeing all the kool adornments guys put in their garage, keep them comming!
