I Love the "Ol" Reverse Psychology being Used!!!

And thanks again for all the Feedback!

Here are examples of Two of my favorite Illustrators...
Roger Dean (he did all the YES Album covers) and
Frank Frazetta (just love he work)
I was copying there style, but of course any "touched" on it
(mine of course, is the pencil)

And One More for this Weekend...
This Was the 1999 Family Christmas Card
The Backs always have a logo, title and Rev number.
(according to my family...they have become collectables!)

Funny Story...
My Sister (who is only one year younger) called me the other day. She was getting quotes for a re-roofing job on her house.
One of the Guys that was bidding on the job, somehow, mentioned that his mom lived in a specific Town nearby.
My Sister said, "I Grew up in that same town".
After a little more talking, they knew alot of the same people. Once she mentioned her last name, He said, "I know a Kid who used to ride his bicycle up to Henry's (now an Arby's) on Wolf Road and Cermak Road...and he would Draw everyones Cars!"
My Sister said, "That was my Brother."
Turns out he still had 2 Drawings that I did for him from almost 40 years ago!
Once she told me his name...I remembered his Car...A 1968 4-speed 440 Dodge Charger...Dark Green with a White Bumble Bee stripe and Aluminum slotted wheels!!!
I still have the photograph of his car.
We plan on getting together and talk old times, when everyone drove a HotRod or Muscle Car and I was too young to own one, but was allowed to hang with all the Cool Guys!
Oh, and he gave her a Great Price, so his Company got the Job!

Usually I get my ideas for the Cartoons from situations that I have see or have been involved in.
Lets see what else I can dig up...

KCarGuy,

Amazing work!

How much would you charge to sketch up my car like that? :D

I can pay in cookies or cash, whatever you prefer!

A couple drawings of the same model, the portrait was a 4 hour setting but still not enough time to finish, the full body shots was a 2 hour pose, wish I would have had the time to finish it.

I Love this Photo of a "Large Airbrushing" that I have.
Its Not my work...But 30 years ago, I worked in a large building in Chicago, and this was hanging on a wall (on one of the floors).
A Photographer took a photo of it and gave me one.

The original Air Brushing was 60"x60".
My Photo is 16"x16" and is framed under glass and Hanging in my Garage.

Sorry about the light reflections in the glass.
I wish I remembered who the artist was....

Are you a fan of R. Crumb? My brother & I have a sketch in pencil of the Freak Bros. done for us by Gilbert Shelton when my dad met him in 1974. Oh by the way, as already stated many times over, you sir, are very talented.

Yes...I have some of those Old School Underground cartoonists as Friends on Facebook.
I also became friends with Dave "Big Deal" before his Passing (another Great Artist)
And wrote back and forth to Dennis E. (the Editor of CarToons magazine).
Lots of Great 60's and 70's Cartoonists that i tried to copy their styles.
I would love to see that pencil sketch...thats Cool!
And Thank You very much.

Well...I didnt spend any time in my Garage this weekend.
I did however finish this years Family Christmas Card.

But before I show you this years Card...lets go back to the beginning...

In 1996 my Wife had a Major Surgery right before Christmas.
She Did all the Gift shopping before she was to go in.
The only thing that was left to me was...To Buy the Christmas Cards!
(and her Gift)
I was too lazy and didnt like anything that I did see...So...
I made, what was to become, the First One!

Here is the 1996 Cover...with a Simple Holiday wish inside!

Then in 1997 came #2
Layed out a little better, and with a Back on it to describe How our Year went and Each Card received a Title.
This One was "Dogs with Attitudes"
