Finished the up grades to the snow plow.Made up a relitivly quick change round cover for the wear blade so as to reduce the amount of landscapeing needed in the spring. Also put a steel top deflecter, the rubber thing was **** anyway. "V" ed out some cracks in the push frame and threw some wire on top of them.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Not yesterday but over the weekend I picked up a new Craftsman 26" 3 piece tool box plus tools from a local pawn shop for $275! Then commenced to rearanging tools, modifing an old broken tool box into an intermediate section, then rearanging and cleaning the garage up some.

It may not look like much to y'all, but I finally tackled and conquered the North wall of my shop.

Now I’m not saying it was along the lines of the hoarder thread but it wasn’t a testament to non-hoarder status.

Rainy weekends are good for cleaning and now the mowers have a place to hibernate for the winter. And as a reward...

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

With my single garage, space is at a premium so I have been throwing **** out, organizing and with the help of GJ discovered how great Storage can be...I built cabinets over my bench (10' x 24' x 18"). Now that I have that first one I will build two more down each side of the garage. I have a 914 in there and a KTM 200 EXC so tryin to keep stuff from falling on the car has been driving me nuts....lucky so far!

Lots of work to come but feel good about the cabinets.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

This weekend I looked and noticed everyone was gone!!! Ahh time alone - I immediately went into the garage and made this. Actually I made it awhile ago - I just now ball milled the lettering.

It's the fuel lever off my dragster - the black sharpie kept wearing off ;-0

Not much of a project, but I know why everyone loves CNC's so much - it's a tad bit more work on a manual bridgeport ;-)

Pulled the carb off my Cushman Truckster and did a thorough cleaning on it, runs great now! Pulled the blower motor out of my smart, disassembled and cleaned it, lubed it, reassembled and reinstalled.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Replaced a 20 year old garage door opener. For the most part, an easy job. The new one has an electric eye that had to be wired. Had to punch a couple of small holes in the ceiling, fish the wires through the insulation, and remove some attic decking to get to the top of the opener. That added an extra hour or so.

This opener has a battery backup, twin lights, and a motion activated light switch.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Tried without success to find my box of drill bits amongst the many cardboiard boxes holding my garage contents, it seems also the contents of the wifes shed and greenhosue got dumped in my new garage too. I really need a few days out there to sort some basic organisation out and unpack as soon as we've unpacked the bulk of the house. Had a squint at the electrics in the house and think I can use the 60 amp fuse and switchgear that used to go out to the barn thats been sold seperately to run a decent supply out to the garage. Just got to get some armoured cable and bury it across the yard.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Today I broke out the lathe and made a whomping stick out of a 2x4 (or a tire knocker, either way I could beat the **** out of someone - fit nice behind the seat of the car). Cleaned up my mess afterwards too. :)

I also put a new valve core in one of the tires of my Cushman, kept going flat. Took a Cushman load of trash from cleaning the garage out to the street.

Swapped out brake shoes on a car I've got sold. Also fixed the dead battery on the Street Rod.

'89-'90 Turf Truckster - 6spd, hydraulic dump, PTO. Brakes froze up, never worked since I got it 4 years ago. If I need to stop I just keep going til I hit something. I have a master cylinder to put on it but I know it'll need more than that.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Soon I will be fixing mine up. It is high on the priority list.

When I moved up here to the country I bough a small enclosed trailer....cheap. I used it like crazy transporting stuff little by little from my one house up to the country (60 miles). I used it some more a little later on too. Somehow someone set me up when it came time to sell it. I went and checked out his shop and saw the Truckster and told him I'd swap him. I also picked up a 2 Toro Groundsmasters in the same deal.

My Truckster is 4 wheeled too. Nice little truck, does great driving through the woods...except getting clipped by tree limbs. Normally sits all year until the winter then I get it running for cutting firewood.

Put a coat of clear on the shop bathroom floor. Moved some leftover building suppiles around so I can start work on my office/machine shop room. Burned 100 lbs of coal keeping warm.

Got some conveyor off cuts from the friend that I want to use for workbench tops. I still have to trim them and threat the rubber.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Played around with my junker Harbor Freight 90amp welder. Had it forever and it never worked right. Turned out the feed tension was messed up and it had intermittent adequate tension to feed the wire. I tried fixing it and ended up breaking it. Made a new piece, worked like a charm - much better. Now the machine will actually lay a bead. Before it was ALL popcorn. I'm happy.

Next week I hope to finish my mini-trailer, build shelves for the kitchen cabinets, and do some more cleanup on the garage.

I ran Cat 5E cable out to the shop and set up an old router as a slave-router in my shop.
Pretty neat having good internet access out in my shop. Hope to install the new alarm system tomorrow.

I too really enjoy having internet on the laptop in the garage.

Today I removed all the front suspension components from my daily driver. Cleaned everything up while apart and replaced the ball joints. I froze my tail off the whole time. It was probably less than 30F and my garage is not heated.

Spent the afternoon and the better part of yesterday making this. I finally made good on my word to the wife that I'd FINALLY put up some Christmas lights.

Now I gotta make a "christmas" tree ;-)

Began a long, long, overdue garage finishing project by cleaning out part of it and moving a freezer into the house. See my sig for details and pics.
