Not exactly garage related but my wife got me a Garmin S3 golf gps watch. Pretty cool and since I play about as much time playing golf as I do in the garage I had a 50/50 shot of which the gift would be for. All is good as my MIL gave us cash which will go for some cabinets and raw materials for a new bench.

Merry Christmas!

This year, I learned the value of providing the spouse with a specific list of desirable gifts. After receiving a bunch of junk I couldn't use last year, I made up a list with links to each item, covering a price range from $10 to $200, and sent it to my wife via e-mail.

It worked!
She shared with my daughter and SIL, and every gift I received was from my list.

Woohoo!

A set of number drills and a set of fractional drills, both Norseman, from Harry Epsteins.
A set of metric and a set of SAE Gearwrench indexing wrenches, from Tooltopia.
A 3/4" SAE socket set from HF.

I did good this year!!

Oh, and I got some good Belgian ale from my stepbrother, and a few nice bottles of wine from other relations.

Where did your wife purchase the Bahco pistol grip ratcheting screwdriver?

I purchased the pistol grip, straight handle (with integrated bit blade), and the stubby ratcheting screwdrivers under the Britool brand from an English eBay reseller.

Thanks,

Dave

Wife got me a Kobalt hydraulic shop stool, grinder stand and a 9'x4' rubber mat 1/4" thick for in front of my workbench and a headlamp. My step-father drew my name for my wifes family and got me a 14" Maglite and a set of ChannelLock MaxForce ratcheting wrenches with the 90 degree twist in the handle.

Wife and my mom got me some other non-tool related presents as well.

It wasn't all tool related, but what tool goodness there was, I've grouped together for a photo. Got a nice 4 lb. Estwing that I've wanted for a while, Swedish pattern pipe wrench from Knipex, some US-made brass drifts and some nice NOS Craftsman drag link sockets. woot.gif

What I received for Christmas was more valuable than any tool could be. We took 8 of those Husky tool bags from the hot deal index and a bunch of jewelry Julie made and a bunch of other gifts to the family gathering and handed them out. In return, we received the love of our family, the knowledge that they were all right and doing well, and the good feeling from seeing them again. Things beyond value. Tools we can pick up anytime.

I did good. The wife got me a 40" Wide 21 drawer Craftsman roller box and the 200 amp barrery charger/starter from Sears on Black Friday and my Dad hooked me up with a bunch of Proto stuff. I got a 3 piece set of Ball peins, punch & Chisel holders, a pry bar set, some cotter pin pellers and locking pliers (all Proto) and a couple of Blackhawk 1/4" socket and 1/4" hex bit driver handles. Miraculously, the Blackhawk handles were sourced from France instead of Taiwan.

A fellow forum poster named Bigcaddy (from the Vise threads) just sent me a jar of his family's home made Pomegranite jelly!!! This was a total surprise since I haven't ever sued him in court nor has he ever picked me out of a police line up. I fear this may be an insidious plot to take over the word by him but for now my buttered toast and I don't care. Thanks Bigcaddy!!

My fiancée got me Kamasa K6390 impact driver. I gave her a list of tools and other items I wanted and this is what she got. It was a toss-up between that or a big nylon tool-bag for work.

My FIL got me a fleece workshirt. My brother and his family gave us two very good glass plates, and he sent me a Wera bottle opener.

This was supposed to quote speedcoaches post from page one, but I hit the wrong button on the phone.

Be careful when cleaning the probes on that thermometer. I'm on my second set after getting the first ones too wet... Use only a damp paper towel. Otherwise that thermometer is awesome.

I got an 18 volt 1/4" Dewalt driver, a two port charger, a pair of tongs engraved with a&M logo, and a deep freeze.

I did ok. I received $250 in Lowes gift cards from my kids and the following Snap On ratchets from my wife. I told her I wanted the blue 1/4 and 3/8 hard handles. She also got the micro box thrown in. Our Snap On guy knew that I had been looking for a 3/8 orange hard handle so she bought that one, too! He also threw in the Snap On overnight bag and the two pairs of socks. The micro box, socks and bag are now open for trades! I will post on my thread in Classifieds if you are interested.

several years ago in my first apartment my mom thought it was a good idea to get my buddies and i all marshmallow guns for christmas, i still find random dried up mm here and there. only thing worse is airsoft pellets.

i did pretty good this year, Gf got me a few things from my amazon wishlist, nieko e-torx set, nieko 5-point tamperproof torx driver set, and metric mid-depth 3/8 impacts from sunex. some fancy snap-on 4 to 1 pliers, and some snappy chisel tip file toothed long noses from dad. and some magnet mirror light and tool bag from mom. and the best thing so far, this heated throw mom found me.

is a 30/06 a big enough round for moose? i figured 300 winmag would be more of the round for that purpose

30/06 180 or 165 grain is plenty for moose. Smallest maybe 7mm Rem Mag. 300 Win Mag will for sure get the job done though. Close range (150yds) and good placement can significantly reduce the need for the big boom sticks. . .

well this year I may have gotten the best christmas gift ever.
my daughter has many tallents some of which include singing, playing music and art.
this year she did a self portarate in charcoal for me. framed it and I never had a clue.
she even signed it so I guess its concidered an original artists signed work.
the picture dosent show the level of detail in the work that was done but I was not just impressed but blown away as this is the best work I have seen her do to date.
