FOR SALE Wilton 645 parts. Static Jaw, Dynamic jaw, swivel base. includes jaw inserts. What you see is what you get. No main screw, main nut or swivel hardware. I do not see any cracks or repairs and jaws line up good. it seems someone put a pipe on handle and totally stripped the screw. $35 plus actual shipping.

Looking for the proper jaws for a Parker model 273. This is one of the early parkers (ca. 1905) and somewhere along the way the jaws were replaced with jaws from a newer Parker. You can see in my pic that they don't fit right.

They should look like these on a Parker 272 from Catalyze.

I'd prefer actual OLD jaws, but if someone can machine me some new ones I'd be up for that too. TIA!

Just because of dimensions, angles, and fitting, it might be worth trying to find a local machine shop, or even an old retired machinist to do it.

Cecil.....I have done the unthinkable before. I purchased a Parker 974 (normal 4" swivel base Parker) with only One jaw. It took me two months and almost $200 to get a pair of jaws made for it. On the other hand....our faithful Autopts is trying out a fellow now to make a pair of Parker jaws. You might chat him up and see how he is doing.

Throwing this up here in case it was missed in the wanted section. I'm looking for a Reed 204 1/2 swivel base. If anyone has one that might work, please get in touch!

Unless this is a *new* guy, the last guy (from what he told me) took forever, and also kind of made a little oops on a corner. But in the end he did get a pair of jaws.

It depends on what your plan is for the vise. I had been wanting a vise with soft jaws for auto parts; happened to score a vise with no jaws. So I bought a brass stick at McMaster and cut it to the width and drilled mounting holes. It has been serving me well...

I don't suppose anyone has any Wilton swivel hold down nuts...specifically for a C1.

If you have the bolt part:

Swivel nut and handle:

Nut:
For the threads on the bolt up from the bottom for the “stud” get an all thread coupler (long nut about 1-1/2” to 2” long) the same thread. Cross drill it for about a 5/16 or 1/4” clearance hole.

Locking lever:
Get a 5-6” bolt either 5/16 or 1/4” or so (for the hole you drilled, see above) also get a matching Jam nut. Grind the points off the hex of the bolt, and string it through the hole drilled in the coupler (above) and then run the jam nut down and jam it into the bottom of the threads of the bolt. Cut off most of the excess bolt. Peen the remainder into the nut flush as you can and file flat. Grind the points off the now captive Jam nut. You have just made a new locking lever and nut for the swivel base…

That almost looks like something I might be able to do!

Thanks!

So I've spent the better part of the day searching for a freeze plug (or expansion plug, whatever) for the end cap of my Wilton C1. It appears to need a 49mm or 1-15/16" plug.

I have come up completely and utterly empty at the local parts stores and have pretty much had it running around burning $4/gallon gas. So I decided to search the internet and I can get 10packs of either size, at a hefty price + even heftier shipping costs. Am I left with that option or is there some other option I've missed. If anyone has bought a wheel bearing cap or something I'd love to have a part number to go to the auto parts store with. Hopefully someone has something that can lead me to the right part.

I did end up buying the hold down nuts from Outdooroutfitters2008 (ebay name). He's was great to work with.

Thanks!

I go with the 2" deep cup and I have to sand down the outside until it fits snuggly. Catalyst took a 2" and placed it over a 2 3/8 deep socket and actually peened the inside out and did one nice job. His post on that I think is somewhere in the VGJ thread.

For mine I used a 2" fence dome cap for about a buck at lowes or home depot. Requires a little grinding but looks great once painted.

I like that idea! I'm trying it next time I need one that size.

Thanks, but I can get a bag of 10 of them for about $2 more on amazon. Now add in shipping since we don't have advance auto parts in Vegas... :(

I'll try that, though I'll be hand working it to fit since I don't have a grinder. Woe is me.

2" deep cup of what? That's one of my many problems. I don't know what to ask the head teenager in charge of the parts department...other than a freeze plug (not much demand for those in Vegas).

BTW: thanks to all who replied! I appreciate it.

You might try measuring it (including Acme thread pitch) and see if anything Yost or Columbian might work. You can access their catalogs online. Otherwise.....it might be off to the machine shop with cookies to get on their good side.

Looking for a swivel base for a Wilton Shop King 4.5" vise. The one I have is cracked through one of the mount holes form someone over-tightening the swivel clamps.

Any one have parts for a Babco 160? Does any one need parts for a Babco 160? I kinda want to fix it up but if someone needs parts I would let the parts go for a small, small fee.

I have a newer wilton 6" utility swivel vise for parts or a fixer upper. Needs a main screw and is cracked where the front jaw is welded to the slide. It cleaned up very nice and doesnt even need paint but it looks as if someone put a 6ft cheater pipe on the handle and hammered down until it broke.

Regarding HANDLES / KNOBS / SCREW CLAMPS for the vises.

I previously mentioned CarrLane on another post.
They make some items that are useful for vise repairs, so I ordered some items from them.
I cannot say enough good things about this company. Shipping was fast and packaged in a sturdy box.

They offer the clamping nuts that are on the swivel vises. (these are hard to find)
They also have stuff that are available from McMaster-Carr like the threaded balls for the end of the handle or the smaller threaded bars that can be used for the smaller vises.

CarrLane is one of the few places that has the swivel clamps (also known as cam lock bolt, clamping nut, or Tommy bar)
They offer black and stainless steel finishes, SAE and metric
Also with the stud or without.

http://www.carrlane.com

Look under Handles/Knobs/Screw Clamps

They call them bar handle nuts or bar handle screw clamps
I ordered mine with the stud, which has a ball end to attach a swivel foot. (like on a clamp, I am cutting that off and making it flush)

If you order something from them, throw in the trig book for a dollar
http://www.carrlane.com/TrigBook/TrigBookIndex.cfm
you can download a PDF of it also.

My vise is not ready yet, but I wanted to pass this along.

I just picked up a Wilton 300 3" bullet with swivel base that's missing the swivel locking nut/handles. They are 3/8"-24. I have the bolts just not the locking nuts.

If anyone has a set, please let me know.

Thanks
