AL` wish I I could find a top box like yours. Still searching :)
"I feel your pain," in my best slick willie accent . I felt lucky to find such a complete setup. But I have been surprised at the number of older boxes of quality showing up lately. I really like those light grey with red drawer cmans and the red with dark grey drawer model that followed right after them too.

I spent some time cleaning on the Mac setup today. It has a lot of grime and my shop vac got a workout in the drawers. Still needs more cleaning too. I don't think the owner ever cleaned it. I may eventually restore it but that is not going to be anytime soon.

Guess I'll add my recent acquisition. The bottom roll cab is an MB920. I couldn't really make out the stamps/roll marks on the top/middle/side chests. They were just too faint even with a flashlight looking from different angles. Also tried tracing with a paper and pencil but no dice. Anyways, I did measure the interior dimensions of all the drawers and the top cavity. Total capacity is 28,494 cubic inches. This box could definitely do with a restore due to grime build up, but it's fully servicable as is. One set of the drawer slides is a little off though. The drawer worked fine, but I pulled it out to move and it doesn't want to insert back in since one of the slides is slightly bent/separating. I'm happy with it overall though.

If that "MB is fir MBC (Metal Box Co.) that's a great box. Looks like a Century I had a while back. I'd have kept it if I had the bottom and intermediate like yours, not to mention the side!

I got this Cornwell set for $40 on CL with tools. I spent a couple days disassembling and cleaning/buffing, and made corrugated liners for all of the drawers. It cost $4.00 to buy ball bearings that were missing in the casters and I had to fix a couple of drawer slides that were balky. They have a June and November 1975 date stamped on them. Here is a before and after of the toolbox:

At some point, I will probably try to strip the paint off. If I do, I will do so very carefully around the stamps with the hope that I can fully read them with the paint removed.

Bought this old chest a few months ago.

Nice setup! I'd have bought something like that! I have a Kennedy setup similar to that. 2 drawer intermediate and basically the same setup on top.

What did you give for it? (I bought min new back in the day...)

Here is a photo of my little vintage stack I have a vintage green Kennedy on top with a vintage penncraft as the lower. Overall not the prettiest stack in the world but they get the job done with 75 invested for the whole thing.

Yeah penncraft was a jc penny house brand. I got it from the grandson of the original owner who used it in his machine shop near Chicago.

That reminds me of the Blackhawk porta-power cart posted somewhere on here but not exact.

This one ?

Awesome tool box - never seen one like it

I vaguely remember reading something about "no links to current ebay auctions" so if I'm breaking a rule please delete.
I have never seen one - thought it was waaaay to cool not to share. I am not associated with this auction in any way.

Not mine, nor any association with the seller. But, it looks like it needs a good GJ home.

VINTAGE SNAP ON TOOL BOX LARGE (9 DRAWER), I believe the Model # KRA-59A. However I do not see the stamp.

I also just picked up a Dayton box with a roller. This Box looks identical to cornwell boxes of the error – anyone know if I am correct?

Here are some pictures of both. I started to disable both boxes, I original didn’t have problem painting the Dayton but I want to try and keep the Snap On and Dayton more original. I was thinking of Spraying the Dayton with the Snap On color.

For The Snap On I was thinking of cleaning up the small pitting on the back (pictures to come) buffing the front starting with WD40 and spraying with a clear coat leaving the bare metal in the back, but…… someone hacked a hole in the top side of the box, should I bondo or weld in a new piece- the whole is a about ¾ of an inch.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Also I could use some 2 new sets of drawer slides, your help and comments are greatly appreciated!

BTW – I barted for both boxes and they both came with tools, doing my best to find the matching bottom for the Snap On.

Now I can finally share!

Box resto courtest of E-Tek. But it's TOO nice to actually use! Perhaps it needs to be in a Snap-On museum.

And the old-dog that I think needs a new home soon. The resto is out of my time / effort level.

Top that old dog with either steel plate or some ply and make it into a welding bench or a portable tool stand.

I have two that style (matching PowrKraft) bolted back to back, topped with 3/4"ply and my 12" radial arm lives on top. The drawers are filled with wood working tools mostly and the bottom "garage" was opened up on the back side of both so blow mold boxes could go all the way through.

Hmmm, never thought of that. I am taking an evening "Intro to Welding" class at the end of April. There is an irony to this, considering my line of work (complete opposite spectrum of welding!). I will probably want to overthink everything.

I was actually tempted to put it into the next local "collectable" auction (which I posted about a few weeks ago). The prices people were paying for things was, ummmm, crazy.
