Thanks but I actually sold my Suburban about five years ago when I bought my 2006 Duramax. I would have loved to have had that grille in it though.

I am in the process of modernizing this 1950s Packard Bell television. The picture tube is being replaced with a LCD television. The cable box and DVD player is concealed in the cabinet so it will look very original.

I had some time between paying jobs and waiting on some parts last night so I took a couple of hours and started to detail my new bike. The previous owner took immaculate care of it as far as maintenance/service and many small detail/accessories but had brain fart a couple of years ago while he was painting one of his cars in his driveway he left the garage door open and his bikes were not covered. The overspray completely covered both of them.
He hasn't ridden this bike in a few years but has owned it since it was new in 2004. I mentioned last year that if he ever decides to sell it that I would be interested. He contacted me a few weeks ago and said he was ready to sell.
I tore into the 88ci engine two weeks ago and bumped it to 95 cubic inches. Seems to run well after getting it back together. I then decided to tackle the detailing of the paint and chrome. Last night I removed the saddlebags and started polishing. Boy, that overspray got all over every nook and cranny on the bike. It is slowly showing some progress and will be perfect when completed. I really can't complain because I got a screamin' deal on the bike and he had already bought most of the parts to build up the engine, just never got around to doing it.
Here is the frame, and undercarriage detailed. I also polished the rear fender and the side covers.
Side cover after polishing the paint. The colors are Smoky Gold and Vivid Black.
Saddlebag after polishing. The top surfaces felt like 220 grit sandpaper prior to polishing.
Trunk after polishing. I removed the chrome rack so I wouldn't miss anywhere but didn't snap a picture until after I re-installed it.
After re-installing the saddlebag.

I still have the front fairing and front fender to detail but otherwise she is done. Unfortunately we have a storm rolling through or I would have rolled it outside to shoot the pictures.

got my s-10 blazer backed out, flat tire and all, busted it down, and reseated the bead.
cleaned up the pile of dirt, mud, old insulation, glass, scrap sheetmetal, leaves and oil dry from under the truck.
put my portable heater back up in the rafters for storage.
fueled up and test ran the new weedeater the wife bought me for my b-day
cleared 4 months of accumlated **** off my workbench, put stuff back where it belongs, and reorganized my storage drawers.

Roadtrip to a buddy's shop. Replaced a bad hydraulic hose on his lift then got the TH350 out of his Blazer in preparation for a TH400 and a doubler. Got the doubler assembled and the trans crossmember modified and relocated.

I managed to snap my truck's serpentine belt tensioner in two while trying to get what remained of the pulley off. Turns out the bolt is reverse threaded.

Over the weekend I swapped out a NV246 transfer case in a 2004 GM 1500 for a customer in which he supplied. He was shocked to learn that I could have rebuilt the one he had for a fraction of what he paid for a remanned one. I also replaced all of the u-joints and carrier bearing on his truck at the same time Saturday.
Yesterday I continued work on the 1999 H-D Road King in which is in the shop. I discovered the belt needs replacing so the primary must come apart/off of the bike. This thing should be like a new bike when the guy picks it up.

Only got to spend enough tim ein the garage to get tools for the in-house projects. Had to rebuild the toilet on the mainfloor. Replaced the crappy old light in the kitchen and mounted a 4 foot 4 bulb fluorescent. Replaced a Tiffany light in the kitchen eating area with a light fixture that my Father inlaw had give us a while back. And one more light fixture swap in the foyer hallway. This all made the wife VERY happy. So hopefully this will lead to more time in the garage next weekend.

Made and mounted a holder for my shop towel bin. I buy cull shop towels in bulk from a uniform rental place about $13 per 10#. I usually get 20 to 30#. If they get too dirty to wash then I toss them.

built a grinder stand for my new to me 8" grinder. I used a 10k trailer axle hub/drum as a base and a length of 2.5" sch 40 pipe. Works great and is easy to drag or roll around the garage.

Spent an hour under the car with a pair of vice grips on an exhaust stud going into the turbo. I could turn it so far and it was catching on something, vice grips would spin off. I only have about 1/16th turn worth of room working 1 handed. After an hour last night, I see my mark shift a little bit. Whoohoo!!!!! A 1/16th of a turn at a time and I finally made it about 3/4 around when it broke loose that I could turn it with my fingers. Its out!
New gasket, 3 new studs and nuts in. 4th stud and the soft piece of **** nut VW sold me and it spins and rips out the threads! Nut just spins, can't get it on, can't get it off. Now tonight I have to pick up a new stud and nut and get this one out with vice grips (maybe just channel locks since it isn't fused in there) and finally get the exhaust bolted back up.
Tie rod next, Wifey isn't happy me taking her car and leaving her stranded during the day (I don't mind having heat in the 28° mornings with her car though, LOL.) She insists on grocery shopping on Wednesdays so I have to get the exhaust bolt replaced and the tie rod finished tonight. Hopefully the alignment isn't bad that I can make it to work tomorrow.

It's currently just a weekend Home Depot runner while I get it squared away fully mechanically. I wanted to have it one color for the summer so Rustoleum satin Oregano it was. After its mechanically "done" I'll blow it all apart for "real" paint.

My Triumph Spitfire is home. I tore the whole thing down back around 1998 or so, redid the drive train, worked on most of the body and... then had to move. It sat in storage largely since about 2003. Now it's at the new house, and I have the time and space to work on "Giles" fully. Already pulled the trunk / boot lid to address rust in that panel. Got two rockers to patch up. A bit of rust around the rear wheel well. It's not out of my skill set and should be fun.
But proof that it did actually arrive as a running drivable vehicle back in 2000:

Got some cheap g clamps off fleabay, £10 for 8 clamps, 6 record and two Woden, 6x 2inch and 2x 6inch
They were in a sorry state at first but free'd off and cleaned up ok apart from two due to rust, so I disassembled them for sand blasting, also disassembled my vice, might as well send it to be blasted to make it worth the trip and seen as ill be buying the paint the right colour it was a no brainer
Also some of the g clamps are missing the swivel shoes, does anyone know where I can buy replacements from?
Also how do I remove the tommy bar from the screw collar on the vice ?
