I checked out those Husky wrenches in the store, and I have to say I'm impressed with how beefy they are. If I was in the market, I would probably get some.

My mother inherited my grandparents farm recently, and I inherited the contents of the 40x30 workshop & the garage. Still a lot of stuff to go through, but along with it I seem to have inherited an obsession that brought me to this forum :)

Oh wow! Blackhawk!

This is awesome stuff my friend - among (if not the) best ever made!

Use It, enjoy it, and cherish the legacy your grandparents left you! But never abuse it, because it's not replaceable at any price, and never ever sell it!!!

Oh don't worry Dave :) selling it isn't the issue.. Finding places to pick up more is the issue :) after languishing in grandpa's barn for a lifetime it's all getting plenty of love (thanks to advice this forum) and there will be plenty of pictures to come.

Wife bought me this today ...

Told her I wanted to by a tool when were were at Home Depot, she said yes ... I come back with this and she tells me "I thought you wanted that 150 dollar tool?".

That being a 1/2" air ratchet I told her I wanted to get a similar one but not that one. I guess she forgot I said I wanted a IR instead of that cheapy at HD.

I wish I knew what she meant when I went to get the "tool".

Some firsts for me in the hammer department (I previously had a a couple of claw hammers):

10 oz. & 21 oz. Armstrong dead blow hammers (made in USA by Trusty Cook) and a 16 oz. Proto ball pein hammer.

My new toy. If it pans out it will be replacing the 3050A above it which just hasn't impressed me. Its failed me a couple times now knocking out rear trailing arm bolts plus the thing is a ******* to keep on target (I believe the Sioux has a spool valve trigger which should be a HUGE improvement). You wouldn't know it to look at them but the Sioux hammer has a 100mm stroke vs the Snappy 75mm. The Sioux hammer is also a whopping 2 pounds lighter.

No great surprise given Sioux is a Snap-On owned company but the 2050/3050 quick change retainer slips right on. Not looking so wimpy compared to the 3050 now ;).

I returned an item to Lowes the other day, and they gave me back a gift card. I figured I might as well spend it right then.
I got a Swanson 24" aluminum level, and a Task Force T-bevel.

I then went to Sears and grabbed a ball peen hammer. I wanted a Eastwing but the only ball peens they had on the shelf were the Craftsman brand. It'll do for now. I stopped at their clearance section and found some white lithium grease and electrical tape for 97 cents. The tube of lithium grease was yellowed...tells ya how long it's been there.

Ordered Friday night at 11pm and I got it Monday at 1 pm

Ash+USPS rule!!

LOLZZ.

All I see is a lot of expensive taps and burrs/cutting bits in the clear container underneath in red plastic boxes and clear tubes with red nubbin' caps.

:)

Metalwork much?

I almost grabbed that slide puller, but I wasn't impressed with the handle. It was not smooth and polished like the pic on the flyer. I think it has to do with a black case vs a red case? Can you upload a pic of the set please?

Had a pretty good tool scavenging weekend! Managed to score a Proto 5450 at a pawn shop and a Mac AT and Engine Oil Press Test kit off of Craigslist. I paid $5 for the Proto by talking them down due to surface rust and being frozen. I brought it home, scrubbed the rust off with a wire brush and oil, disassembled it, cleaned it thoroughly, lubed it with assembly lube and reassembled. Works like a charm! I paid $10 for the pressure test kit. It shows no evidence of having ever been used, and includes all the fittings.
