Needed a spring compressor, the suicide sticks I had were alright but I got lazy last week and used an impact wrench on them, the threads ended up getting damaged. Took them back to princessauto as 1 employee told me that their tools carry a lifetime warranty. Showed up and was told their tools only have a 1 year warranty. Went through the system and showed I purchased them early 2011. Guy said that he can give me a courtesy card for the lowest sales price that they come on. Basically got my money back. Thats good service!

Was looking for a spring compressor that was impacted rated. Only ones I could find were the clamshell styles and they were around $170 off tooltopia. Meaning I would have to make a trip to the US. Locally the cheapest I could find them for was 240 + taxes which would put me at $271. Browsed kijiji and got this like new OTC struttamer for $400. Only thing is that it is missing the strut brigde accessory. This thing is a beast!

And this is the made in USA Chapman midget ratchet I got earlier this summer.

This is one of the pocket packs - I ordered the one with 2 phillips and 2 flat bits and then ordered the 1/4" drive adapter as well.

Going to try it out when removing the fender flares from my truck, since previously all I could use to get the screws was a stubby screwdriver.

You couldn't pay me to use that otc strut tamer. My experience with one is the spring doesn't get compressed very evenly, almost impossible to line up the new strut to the mount.

I've seen one of those type (an older one) fail. I should say I've seen the aftermath of it. fire company was called to a local shop when I was Med squad LT for that one. Messy.

Then you need more experience. Its definitely better compared to a branick or the HF copies. Has loads of wiggle room to allow for offset or broken spings too.

The StrutTamer is one of the safer options to come along. Pretty much impossible for one to fail as both independent jaws would have to simply snap at the exact same time. Strut springs get compressed every day by far more sketchy options.

Bought these to keep in my truck. Fit and finish is wonderful. I would highly recommend them. Purchased these from Tooltopia and it was at my front door in 2 days. If your looking for a great value on USA made socket sets then look no further. I also have snap on sets and I would rank these right up there.
