Well I got called off an inspection I was doing at a power plant today @ 12 o'clock for a breakdown at another customer...
and

The kids can have Tommorow Land and Frontier Land, etc. This is the latest Disney attraction - Tool Land. I am so going there. Is there a height restriction?

my 15 dollar box from the other night , redone to match my other Kennedy boxes.

That is an awesome setup. What is the floor to top box height?

Just me, but I think it would look cool if you put the blue craftsman next to the kennedy. Or... arrange them based on DOM.

Got a couple of clamps which worked out to $2 each. I am not thrilled with the japan made blue clamps, hopefully they don't fall apart the first time I use them. The C clamp is a post wwII 2 hargrave. The weird clamp says Saxton Kant twist on it haven't seen one before so I threw it in, not sure what it's for really.

Jere, the Kant-twist clamps work very well. They come in handy when you don't have a clear area for the screw of a c-clamp. Most (perhaps all?) also have v-grooves that come in handy when clamping round stock. I find them handy for clamping flat stock together when drilling holes in the drill press. All the ones I have encountered have been of high quality and made in the USA.

Like a dummy I did not check CL for a couple hours last night...and missed out on this CSPS Box...or whatever that initialization is...the Costco one. CPPSUSSR-Somethin-or-other.

From the add:

"Huge heavy duty tool box. I bought this box from COSTCO for $800. I am selling it for a Great deal at $200 Works great, text me if interested. 909.908.xxxx"

Madison, nice haul. Especially that Craftsman brick set. I have one of those blade balancers as well. How the heck do you use it? Do you grind material off the blade an the heavier side? Was the balance of the blade a common problem back in the day? Is there any use for one in this day and age?:dunno:

Cool thanks for the info! They are USA made and have the V groove. That V groove was throwing me off as to their purpose, like maybe they went with some other tool somehow. Good to know that's not the case :bounce:

It is a lawn mower blade balancer. You set it on a level surface and in theory the blade should be parallel to that level surface. If one side dips down it is heavier than the other side. Remove material from the heavy side. DO NOT remove material from the cutting edge. Sharpen it first then balance it. Also make sure to clean it well so you don't have any clumps of grass messing with the balance.

of course zkling. Everytime I se something on CL I go to Firefox at top left and "SAVE PAGE AS" and then put it in it's appropriate folder. Everything I've bought from CL in the last year or two has the ad, and I type a quick story of who I bought it from and any history that went with it or if he's a cool guy and likes to fish, hunt, 4x4 etc.

There's been times I thought, "oh hey, I should call that one guy about this or that", so I find the ad and call him up. Made some cool friends through CL for sure. And met some weirdos. lol

Ha!

But at the rate tools are bought, swaped and exchanged "behind the scenes" here on GJ, I bet many would be in awe.

Hell, I have new Knipex linesman pliers and several other tools already in the SecretSanta dwr. for whomever I get this year.

And it's only Sept.

And 8 more weeks of garage sailing. :)

Yes, nice vise Shadow!

No GS love for me today, had to find my fix at the pawn shop. Snap On socket and two DBE wrenches, two Plumb DBE wrenches, Craftsman from the extensions down, highlights are the Long Handle 3/8 ratchet and 6pt wrench(I'm building a 6pt set). There is also a 1/4" matco impact swivel and my first pair of Channel Lock 347's.

Edit: Paid $10.90

I went to an Estate Sale during lunch today. I picked up a set of Fleet SAE wrenches for my nephew. The PO had apparently misplaced the 11/16" so it had been replaced with a Craftsman. The set was $5.00 which works for me.

Now I need to keep an eye out for a Fleet 11/16 5922 to round out the set and some more toys for the nephew.

Cheers

Jim

So this is from last weekend, I pulled into this guys drive way and this was sitting there in the drive way, I wonder over to it and the guy asks me if I know what it is because no in the past two days has had a clue. I tell him yeah I have a pretty good idea what it is and what it was used for. he tells me he wants to see it gone, he's got 50 dollars on it. I tell him I not really loving it for 50.00, he says make me an offer and i'll help you load it....

20.00 later he helps me load it, 2 timing lights, 2 other allen testers (i'll post pictures later) and I am on my way
