Driving home this evening I saw, what I thought was a craftsman carry box sitting on top of a recycle bin/trash can. Performed the fastest parallel parking job of my life and ran back to grab not one but two boxes from the trash.

That sure looks like a UNION tackle box to me. I refinished one and use it for my Dremmel and all its accessories. Nice trash pick!

Hey thanks man I don't think it is a union box (I have one of those as well ) This is built much heavier, metal thickness, latch and all; a real solid box. I'll get some better pics tomorrow. Not sure what I will put in it, but sure I will find something.

Highlights
-Husky CM-45 ratchet, after take apart, clean and lube it is a super smooth little 1/4" ratchet. My only other 1/4 ratchet is a cman RP, sadly it is no where near as smooth as the Husky.
-Indestro 1/4" breaker bar. Nice, but I like my proto breaker bar (from a member here) better. The indestro is a goofy shape.
-Craftsman T&G pliers
-Craftsman V DOE wrench
-USA visegrips without an adjusting screw really good condition, but missing the screw.
-Then there were a few misc japan and taiwan tools, bolts, mic.
-Craftsman crown top box, needs some straightening and missing the tray , but solid.
-Misc black carry box. Great condition, only marking is "Made in USA"

For $0 invested I am very happy, saved from the recycle and now in a loving home.

I had a buddy when I live in Alabama who was a taxidermist, who used an item very similar to this to separate the hide from the cartilage on the ears of white tail deer prior to filling them with bondo.

It might have been one of these cut down for the job.

The thing that caught my attention is the "pocketwrench II" made by Latshaw Tool. I have never seen one before and have no idea what it is for. Do any of you know what it is for?
Also a couple of Cman tools and drivers. A flashlight that works. A flaring tool that is marked UPRR! I have never seen one where the dies slide apart and so well made! And other odds and ends.

JP, that pocketwrench is a key Chain wrench. I wouldn't want to be doing any serious heavy wrenching with it but if you were holding a nut for a machine screw while you were tightening with a screwdriver, it's probably adequate.

What brands are the older DBE and the Lineman's?

I suspect it's a gimmick wrench like mine. Mine even sounds like a gimmick, the "What-A-Wrench". It's kind of like a useful tool, but not.

Yea, the obvious just went right past me on the pocketwrench! The DBE is a V code Cman 3/8 X 7/16 and the Lineman's are Kliens, 1940. It is the nicest flaring tool I have ever seen. The head is just the regular flaring head but I think it should be a double flaring head.

The double part of the flaring tool is another bit that starts the flair in compression mode then you take that out and finish with what you have; the real deal is having a tube clamp that can actually hold the tube securely enough, most single clamps won't hold it for the double.

I found a few items in the dollar bins at a couple of garage sales recently. A set of General trammel points for a dollar each and a P&C 1" combination wrench for a dollar. At a different sale I picked up a couple of aluminum baking pans for $0.05 each. I use them for sorting, small drain pans, and for parts trays when working on projects. I prefer stainless steel, but the price was right!

I'll be posting about the wrench on a new thread. It is stamped "100" which I believe is a production series that I haven't seen before.

Check that flaring tool for the angle of flare, 37 degree for AN or JIC or 45 degree for SAE. I have one like that for 37 degree AN fittings.
