The loft area is going to be my wife's area. This building is bigger than we visioned but we'll probably not have any problem filling it up.

This is a look out the loft with a little deck outside, a sliding door will go here.

Here's a look from outside in the back.

Finally, the windows are going in. Short days means get the lights out to finish the job.

nice looking! Now get siding on there and break out the insulation.
The siding is another issue, its not here yet and it seems to be up in the air as to who is putting it on. If its me it could be a long winter!

Thanks Jason , still got a long way to go, I'm digging the ditch for electric now doing it by hand because we've got a septic line going out there right in that area along side of the garage, trying not to get into it.

Time to show a little progress, not a lot getting done with cold temps and Christmas here. We did get all the windows and doors in.

And Ive started to do the rough wiring. Thats our siding on the floor that just got here, we went with Vertical Board and Batten Vinyl.

rinker1,

If it's not too late, you might want to consider changing the electrical boxes to hold a pair of outlets. Run one set on one circuit and the other on a second circuit. you would be able to run a couple of tools at a time without overloading the circuit. Mine are labeled, but someone here suggested using different colored outlets.

The build looks great, do you want to adopt????

:bowdown:What a sweet build!!! Once again I'm amazed at how little it takes to keep a man happy - you get the shop and she gets the loft space....to the women folk, we're not much harder to please than the GD dog!!!:bounce:

I was thinking the very same thing! On my build, I made a run per wall, to equal 4 circuits. If you are like most of us, we don't have more than a tool or two going at once which shouldn't overload the circuit.

Great looking build!!

Ray,
I've ran the wire with being every other outlet on a separate circuit, total of three twenty amp circuits so far.

Nice looking place  How long did it take the Amish to put it up? I know that around here, and I'm not too far from you, that they are some workers. Hardly ever take a break except to eat. And with that foundation, I can pretty well guess where you are located. It seems like all of the foundations in that area are done with the brick texture. My buddies basement is done that way, but the have the brick look both outside and inside the basement. It really beats the look of smooth concrete or block walls. Can't wait to see the finish pics. Saturday would have been the ideal day for working on that. :bounce:

This project is looking great, but I'd like to disagree with Kevin54 on the concrete form issue. I prefer the smooth concrete forms, and I especially dislike the faux brick work when you're inside a basement where you are close enough to see the detail. In my opinion smooth forms give a modern look without pretending to be something they're not.

Thanks Kevin, Once the walls and floor was in it then about 3 1/2 days to get it up and under roof. My two sons and myself put the windows and man door in.

Finally, after far to long of delays work has started again with the cupola and weather vane being installed.

Not a easy job with the roof being a 12/12 pitch!

Siding will go on next week weather permitting.

Thanks for all the compliments! It sure has been a lot more worries, stress and decisions than I ever dreamed it would be. Still a lot to get done but I think we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel.
