Walked inside, turned the lights on, stared at my clean work area and tools, turned the lights off, went in the house. It sure gets boring when everything is done and there's nothing to do...

I pulled out some wood from the scrap pile for a project. found I didn't have it all, so went to home depot. Got the one lumber i needed and found another in the scrap 70% off pile that I can use. Then went to the parking lot to find coolant under my truck where it had cracked in the plastic tanks of the radiator. So I ordered everything I needed for that job plus change the belt, tensioner pulley, idler pulley, and water pump. With 155,000 miles on the truck figured it would be safe to just change those parts.

Cleaned up a little. Stripped down a 1 ton rear axle to get started on my Jeep 4 link. Changed the oil & sharpened the blades on my old Troybilt lawnmower.

Tested some rust converter on my lift. With all the salt and snow this year it's gotten pretty rusty over the winter.

This looks like its going to work so I'll have to prep and brush it on. Then follow up with some fresh paint.

Hooked up the winch in the bed of my truck to the battery (now I don't have to carry the jumper box around), found the oil leak in my wife's car (head gasket leaking), replaced the drive belt and idler pulley in a friends Explorer.

"In" the garage....
Sharpened three chainsaw chains, then went just outside the door and installed one of them on the 40 year old Poulan and one other on the pole saw. Then we attacked the 75 foot sycamore with the bottom half rotten out. It took most of the day but now I have a pile of firewood, a trailer full of brush to go to the composting station, and a 25 foot long X 3 foot diameter trunk laying on the ground. The two guys I had hired will be bringing the "big" saw next weekend to cut up the trunk.

In the past when I bring my four jack stands I would have to use an array of four strategically placed bungee cords to hold them in place on the trailer. It was basically a PITA, but I kept putting off a better solution, so I decided Saturday was the day to get it done.

I started by welding a 3/8" diameter sleeve to each jack stand:

Next I welded a pair of 5/16" bolts to a piece of 3/4" wide plate. The bolts serve as pins to lock a pair of stands together once they are slid into the sleeves. I drilled a hole in the center of the plate for the 6" long hold down bolt which provides tension to keep the stands in place.

I used a T-nut under the decking boards to make the threaded connection.

Assembled and in place:

Completed one of two engine stand to body rotisserie conversions

Taller, adjustable height, outriggers, and heavy casters all around. A tab welded to the lower beam to connect two stands together while a body is mounted. I took this photo to show the difference of the mods. Second stand has been since cut apart, rewelded into the new configuration, all parts primed and painted. I'll be able to work on it again in two weeks with only three holes to drill left to do.

Always more stuff to do.

I got the new all-aluminum radiator installed in my Mustang. It's about twice the thickness of the stock unit so should help me stay a little cooler on track. Sadly all the bling of it is hidden though.

I also added a few new bling parts that were powdercoated by Leanna "The Cuda Chick". The first is a billet fuse box cover, and the second is a billet dash badge. The pics turned our crappy for some reason, but here you go:

Ohhhhh awesome!!!! :bounce:

I guess I missed it the first time Larry (it's that time of the year and I miss a LOT lol). I hope you're delighted with the results and get many years of enjoyment out of the work. It was wonderful having a hand in such a fine ride. < curtsey > I appreciate your business and confidence in my abilities.
