Nice vise, good score! I love those kinds of sales, I picked up a 3.5" Craftsman for $1 yesterday from a similar "old and moving, gotta sell everything" sale.

You know, it's that 1 really nice out of 10 sucky sales that makes our little hobby worth while. At least for a little while I guess lol.

Just got lucky! ty

This is a SK 3/4" Drive ratchet!!! I got it for $35 which is kind of high but I hardly see these things floating around and since it would look nice in my SK collection I had to just give up the cash.

Also can someone tell me if these two blackish sockets are impact or chrome ones that lost it's chrome? It was rusty when I got them and after cleaning them I noticed the joint is different then the chrome ones I already had. The black ones are =V= series while the chrome ones are -V- series.

Picked this combo up a few weeks ago. Just getting around to starting to clean the vise.

$10 for the combo at a real selling everything moving out of state cause were old garage sale.

You deserve a heaping plate of YOU **** served with a side of warmHoly SH!T for that deal:eyecrazy:.

NICE SCORE on the vise:rocker:!! Even if the rest of the year yields you squat in the garage sale department you are still ahead IMO.

Madison, 35 is a great price on that ratchet. Prices on good tools, including both S-K and 3/4 drive tools in general have dropped over the years if you're talking resale, but don't let that fool you. That's a good quality ratchet and it's rebuildable.

The Craftsman sockets are not impact, probably lost their plating.

Man, I'd love to add that to my diamond SK ratchet collection as well. You have 3/4 sockets though?

Yeah, I'm thinking it's probably downhill (or uphill price wise I guess) from here unless I literally start robbing people of their junk.

The 3/4" is staying in my SK collection, so i wasn't planning on selling it but due to the rare chance that I see 3/4" floating around I had to get it for my collection. It needs to be cleaned and lubes but it does feel good in the action!

Yea i was thinking the sockets lost their plating but wasn't 100% sure.

I don't have any SK 3/4" sockets but I got a bunch of the Craftsman 3/4" Drive sockets so it has a use along with added to my SK collection.

But I think I'm growing out of my little SK machinist box and now need to look for a bigger SK toolbox!

Those look like regular swivel sockets that got badly rusted and were dipped in a rust converter. I have a gallon of some "Oxpho" something or other rust stopper that turns any rusty surface black just like that.

Yep, you're right the black must have been from the CLR. I figured it had to be lost plating but wasn't sure. I'll hit it with the fine wire wheel and just spray some rust prevention on it.

Not a big deal, but I got a couple of interesting things. Stopped at two flea market/antique shops and came up with a few things. Three c-clamps cheap to sacrifice for welding - then they turned out to be Cincinnati, Brink&Cotton and Adjustable! Nice aluminum tray, big enough for a drip pan for working on my tractor. Two=drawer tool chest, just a cheapie with friction slides, but full extension and fairly sturdy. It was full of old rusty stuff, but had a couple dozen old but usable punches and chisels. Buried was a set of four Barcalo-Buffalo long pattern DBE's.

The most interesting things were two handmade items - a hammer and a punch. The punch is apparently made of rebar, but hammered into a square cross section - unless there's such a thing as square rebar?? (It's the only one I didn't grind the mushroom off of.) The hammer is very small and light - maybe half a pound . I thought it might make a small slag hammer, but the head is made of mild steel, too soft for any serious beating. Kinda cute, though. Total tab: $36

Hit another storage auction over the weekend, just getting around to the tools.

1/4 proto ratchet with SK socket and extension
y9aqytyh.jpg

Somebody had a thing for adjustable wrenches.
Blue point, ridgid, crescent and craftsman. Plus about a dozen cheapy china adjustables. And a pair of knipex alligators
ehaqa3a7.jpg
and this little guy
je9yga6u.jpg
u8yne3ym.jpg

Got excited when I saw this, been wanting a nice meter
umuvy7ad.jpg
2 of everything, no meter.
ugety4u6.jpg

Couple weller soldering guns and several rolls of solder
daqanyte.jpg

Older 40" Murray riding mower, pushed it out of the unit, into the trailer, off the trailer, across the yard and then my son stuck a screwdriver in the ignition and it fired right up. Not the best looker but it mows good.
8anatehy.jpg

Now the best part. I paid $220 for 3 units and my wife sold off over $500 before I went to bed, so tools are free and there's still a 6x12 and a 6x10 trailer loaded with stuff for the flea market.

the wrenches in the roll are all armstrong (except for the smallest), the bar clamp is 3-4 feet long, and the clamps are all USA. i called back the estate sale company the next day and some other items i was going to go back for were sold

Found a good amount of PLVMB wrenches, several Proto Los Angeles and Proto USA sockets, Proto wrenches,Armstrong wrenches, a Snap On Carry box with tray,2 Dazor lamps,This morning I never owned a Dazor, now I have 2.A couple Snap On wrenches,a Par -X wrench,a Lufkin 100 ft tape measure,
a Cornwell ratchet that was assembled wrong, a Snap on shell of a 3/8" ratchet,Bonney line wrenches, feeler gauges, taps, extensions from Craftsman ,SK,Proto, couple Bessey clamps, a Unibit,an empty leather Ideal pouch(thinking my Wiggy might fit nicely) and a screwdriver or two. I really kept expecting one of you guys to snag this thing before I could get it.

Craftsman cart, no-name drill press vise, Little Giant by Albert J Tatu 18" metal brake, and a full set of 1/2" V series Craftsman sockets.

I left some cool stuff as I was out of cash, specifically some sweet vintage sewing machine pedals that are just begging to go on some kids go kart, the obligatory 20 pipe wrenches, some nice pliers, and a really nice pipe threading kit in the original wooden box.

Thanks! I've been wanting one since I learned they existed from this site. I had to email the seller a bunch of times to get a response, I believe it was less work courting my wife (but I didn't say that though).

Stopped at an estate sale this morning.

Penn State Industries berracuda chuck $20 (like new but missing the locking bars)
This was a big score for me considering I just picked up a lathe last week. Looks like it was used one time, then put away. Three of the adapters have never been unpacked. The missing look bars are just straight steels bars which should be cheap the replace.

BNIB Kreg k3 master system $50.
Don't let the saw dust fool you, it is brand new. Best part about this one, it's for my girlfriend's anniversary present. She has been telling me she wanted one for two years now.

Her gift to me was a trip from Georgia to Pleasanton, California to attend the goodguys west coast nationals car show next month. We don't get many tradional hot rods here in Georgia(they are here, just stay in hiding it seems). This particular show we are attending is limited to pre 72' and will have as many as 3500 cars with a focus on pre war hot rods.

The floor and staircase in your garage/shop sure are fancy
