Exterior of shop getting close to done. Only thing in my way now of getting back on my projects is will power and the '56 Chevy.
Did a frame off on the '56 starting back in 1997~98 and it has just sat until a couple weeks ago of course plugging up the little space in my garage. It was fine until the Fire Truck showed up . . LOL
We now have the body & paint to the point we started on the interior and adding a real old version of a Vintage Air system. Tight quarters to hook up.
Hoping end of next week it will go off to the upholsterers.
Friend Mel has owned the car 28yrs and counting and has never driven it down the road. Paint looks pretty good for being 17yrs old.
The front alignment on these cars is not fun when parts do not fit.
Started off with stock original worn out hood hinges, then on to a repo pair, then thought if we stepped up to a set of Ring Brothers hinges it would align. They were 700.00 and pretty much junk. Found out the shocks they use have around 1300 psi of pressure EACH! Too many issues so tried a newer better set of repop hinges and they finally allowed us to get hood to fit.
A few weeks back made some progress installing new floor on the 66 427 Box. Just another hour or so of welding and grinding and it will be ready for primer.
As soon as the '56 goes away plan on bringing in either the eco or 427 truck project.
The 482 in the 66 427 truck has been sitting since 2010 without being turned over or even started for the first time so may lean to that first.
Really really chomping at the bit to get the Eco Project back on track. I have had plenty of time to think about how I want to go about doing that.
Does anyone here know of a place that can make me a windshield 1-2" wider than the stock one?
More soon.
I will post further '56 pics in my other thread and just leave the 2 66 projects here.
