Yea I saw it in the cornwell flier today and was surprised.i wonder how good it is because I'm thinking about getting the ingersoll rand cordless hammerhead.

I'm pretty sure the cordless hammerheads have a much higher torque rating than the Milwaukee. I think it's like 180 ft lbs compared to the 60 ft lbs from Milwaukee according to what I've read.

I'm wondering if I should have bought this instead of the milwaukee ratchet I just got (and still haven't used)

I really like my milwaukee stuff, but it is hard to argue with the ingersoll rand. I honestly don't feel like 60 lbft is enough torque, especially if you are up against Loctite/rust/both.

Reminds me of an M18 version of their M12 cordless ratchet (obviously the M12 isn't an impact, but I've been waiting for an M18 ratchet for a while now.. maybe this is their answer to that)

Just received two of them from TOOLUP yesterday. They are lower torque than the I-R but their heads and the tool itself is much smaller . They are rated at 60 ft-lb and from using them yesterday I think that's about right and frankly that's more than sufficient to remove anything under 14mm bolts. What I like about the lower torque rating is that you can install things with relative confidence that you're not going to strip anything out. Especially if you use setting 1 which is the 30 ft-lb limit setting. Also control is outstanding as you would expect from a cordless variable speed tool. Sadly, Milwaukee is going to have to hire more Chinese workers to produce enough of these things. I predict a major hit. TWO THUMBS UP!

One MAJOR selling point to these that no one is mentioning, is that the head rotates 360 degrees!

They designed it that way so the battery would never get in the way of you working. I will be doing some full reviews on these soon. I got to use them at the NPS14 event this year & they are sweeeet

And......5 minutes later Fedex shows up!

:rocker:

Well....it looks like they changed the design....I guess they just showed us the prototypes for these, because I just checked mine & the heads do NOT rotate.

Maybe I am imagining things again... :dunno:

Ah well, you had me excited! Haha

Woodstockva, YES THEY DO. Read the instruction manual. You need to loosen a bolt to rotate the head but the head can be rotated to whatever position is comfortable to you. It doesn't rotate as a mater of course put if you would like to put it into a different position than factory it's easily done.

Yep! This is one of those times that I am glad I was wrong! Woohoo!

:)

I just watched the COPTOOL video on the presentation again, and yep they do rotate 360 degrees.

Sweeet. I'm so going to end up with one of these sooner or later. Wonder if HD will have them in stores to play with?

I'm thinking about one of these to go along with the 2763 impact I'm looking at

I wish there were some coupons or something going on for the M18 tools right now. Looks like there were some deals earlier in the month that I missed

Looks cute! lol. Not sure if I'll be content with 60 ft-lbs of torque, but it should be great for those who do not want to use the Milwaukee ratchet.

The Milwaukee ratchet has very little torque. You'll never break a bolt lose with it, it's great utility is speeding the lose bolts off and, since it's a ratchet, you can use it to break the bolt free using arm power. However, it's power is nothing close to this. Anything under suspension bolts this will handle and those are normally out in the open so you can get your big impact on them. This tool will change the way cars are worked on.

So buying this to break them loose is a waste?

60 ft-lb is a lot. Everybody gets all hot and bothered when somebody comes out with an impact with 1300 ft-lb. My generator, water pump, power steering pump, valve covers, air conditioning compressor and everything else you can name on my engine are held on by bolts torqued to less than 50 ft-lb. If the engines are aluminum less than 30 ft-lb. I have an impact rated at 1300 ft-lb, a Nitrocat 1250K. Doesn't do me a damn bit of good since I can't fit it into the engine bay. This tool is small and it does fit. Since I don't have to swing it like a ratchet it can fit into some really tight places. I have a version of the I-R Hammerhead. Completely useless. It has 200 ft-lb of too big to fit anywhere torque. Milwaukee really thought this through. Powerful enough to do most of what's needed to be done and small enough to actually get it done. As I stated previously this will change the way that cars are worked on. It's a game changer. It's a cordless air ratchet equivalent (having similar power to a good air ratchet without the broken wrist) and will surely replace a lot of them.

I tend to agree... After using a little 1/4" impact driver on so many things lately I think 60ft lbs is pretty reasonable given the size this thing looks to be

Got a feeling I'll be ordering one of these in the next day or two

This is probably as close as they'll make, in my opinion at least. Why wouldn't this work in place of that? It certainly will for me

Reason is that I can break the bolt or nut loose if the tool doesn't itself. That's how it goes with my 1/4 ratchet. Sometimes the tool will tighten the bolt too much, it can't break it back loose. So the ratchet style allows me to break things loose. I do really like the speed of impact, but not if I have to go back to my box for another tool.

Why would you wonder if it's a typo and not check the Milwaukee site, they make the tool. It's 60 ft-lb. on switch position 2 and 30 ft-lb on switch position 1. I've tried it on every bolt I could reach under my car's hood on a GM 3800 engine and it took every one out except the crank bolt which takes 300 ft-lb. That's good enough for me.

Thanks. Anyone know of any other deals out right now?

I want to go ahead and order the 2763 impact and one of these right angle 3/8 impacts also. I tried to piece it together with 3.0 batteries, etc. so I could order the 2763 as a bare tool to use this discount, but it still doesn't work out cheaper once I add a charger. I thought the charger I had would charge m18 stuff too, but I think I'm remembering my old snap on one that would charge two different types of batteries

SO, that puts me back to just buying the 2763-22 kit at full price and then getting the right angled one at 10% off. Gah, someone save the day with a coupon here already

If it was free shipping at toolup I would have just made the purchase before this post..anyway, you can try Cpo outlets and order a refurb impact kit if you don't mind ( I have the m18 fuel drill/impact driver from them with no problems). I paid $209 for the fuel kit that sells for $367 in HD.. And, you can order the bare tool from Home Depot online, and it's free shipping to home or store.. If you have a 10% off HD coupon u can use it online and in the store when you pick it up.. ( or lowes 10% off if picked up in store) . If u don't have a coupon you can buy one on eBay, and have it mailed to ur home, or find an auction where u get the coupon code instantly after you "buy it now" .. For $15 off for the 10%, and save like $10 in shipping too..

Zoro had like a 25% off thing earlier this week that I would have done, except I was worried that the warranty wouldn't apply to the purchased date since they weren't listed as a retailer on milwaukee's list

CPO sites was out of refurbs today, or I probably would have went ahead and just done that. Maybe one will show back up tomorrow

One side of me doesn't want to save $80 when it means the warranty is 4 years less, but the other side of me knows I've never had a problem with a Milwaukee tool and who knows if I'll even still have it in a year (if they come out with something else new..) so I figure I might as well get it as cheap as I can. Every Milwaukee tool I own so far was a refurb and I've never had an issue

Decisions. If no big deals pop up tomorrow I'll probably wait for another refurb one to show up on one of the CPO sites and I'll go ahead and get that. At least once I have a few batteries I can buy bare tools for some of the other stuff I want

Wish I had just bought the one off of Zoro now. It wasn't far above CPO prices after the discounts and while the warranty may not have been a full 5 years, it would have at least been more than 1

If anyone gets one of the right angle ratchets in kit form and wants to get rid of the case, please let me know.. I'd prefer to buy the bare tool but really want a case for it too

Anyone have a video of this in action? I'm an auto tech and am hoping to get this or the Hammerhead. I've already got a lot of m12/m18 stuff, but want the best tool for the job.

The hammerhead is like 3 times as powerful I believe.. I'm not a mechanic, but I would consider that if I was....unless i had other impacts to fall back on..

That's true but it's larger and not cordless. Who cares how powerful it is as long as it's powerful enough. 60 ft-lb. works for 95% of the stuff sitting in my engine bay. For the other five percent I've got big air wrenches for that.

There is a cordless hammerhead. I've been holding out for Milwaukee, but I'm unsure now.
