i've wanted a new straight die grinder for awhile, had some amazon money from a return last month and figured i would get another set of bits to go with it since some of mine were lost or showing their age/ usage. wasnt my first choice and iwas a little hesitent to go with import bits but they look pretty nice actually, had really good reviews on amazon and the price was right for what i'll be using them for.

Well it's not new. But I found this old Proto 10in adjustable wrench.

Gave it a soak in some JB 80 a little love with a scotch brite pad this morning and it works amazing and looks good enough to have a place in my toolbox.

Nice grinder.

I bought that same bit set in a combo with a straight and 90 die grinder about 2 years ago. Both die grinders work perfect still and the bits still look brand new. Surprising considering the price and how much I abuse them.

You'll love the hell out of them with that IR die grinder

Bogdan,

At the risk of being rude - did you pay for the flashlight, or was it a freebie, say, with a different order?

Again, not trying to be rude, (more like informative to others here) but there are many other flashlight options that I'd consider vastly superior to that light.

(I'm kind of a flashlight enthusiast)

I fancy the IR, how Loud is it?

Sent from the sticks

my older 90* IR die grinder, that is slightly larger than this straight one, i wouldnt consider loud at all, but most of the die grinders that i've used, i wouldnt consider any of them very loud compared to other air tools. maybe equal to the sound from an air cutoff wheel. i havent had the chance to try this new one out yet but it should be getting a work out this weekend.

Thank you Dirty Diesels. I buy all of that with my student discount, but I regret not having buy more flex ratchet and some blue point stuff.

I like Blue-Point tools myself, the circlip retaining pliers are great, the tool carts are good & the brake pipe flaring set I've got are sound too, trouble is my local Snap-on dealer don't stock much Blue-Point, only stuff on offers.

Those flex head ratchets are great too, I'm finding quite a few jobs for my 3/8" drive one, very useful

assuming he bought an all astro pneumatic kit, looks like they have a couple straight and 90* set ups to choose from

http://www.tooltopia.com/search.aspx?manufacturer=12&category=3628

Yeah. The AST1221 is the set I bought. No louder than any other die grinder I've ever heard. Not the most powerful things in the world either. But they do a good job for the price and what I use them for.

I bought them as throw aways just because I needed the bits bad that day and the only way to get them was with the grinders right then and there. But I've used them daily for 2 years. I have better ones. But my better ones are also bigger so these work great in tight spaces.

Empire Scribe for a buddy at work who is covetous of my empire scribe, USA made. Craftsman 3 piece gasket scraper, made is USA. Master force Cable cutters, made in China but for as much as I will use them I can't justify paying 5 times as much for USA made. New toughbuilt pouch, my smaller one at work is a bit overloaded. Made in China but I don't care because toughbuilt pouches are totally awesome and the best thing going in their genre. New work gloves and hat, my Detroit Tigers work hat is pretty ratty. Made in China but what hats or gloves aren't?

40 bucks for all between sears and Menards with surprise points at Sears and I'll get another few bucks off with 11% back on the items from Menards.

How do you like the Mac 3/8 ratchet. I have one also. And sometimes wish I would of bought the snap on instead. Just doesn't compare to it.

That's funny, my brother in law and I were just discussing can openers. How our moms can opener lasted forever, and the new ones are so cheap.

HJE order - I wanted to order a bunch of pocket screwdrivers for stocking stuffers, but shipping was high for a $50 order. Solution? Find some stuff in the closeout section to get the order cost up and make shipping seem better, lol!

SK pocket scredrivers (qty 20)
16" craftsman 1/4" cabinet slotted screwdriver -W-
SK molded emblem
Air blow gun
Craftsman 4pc offset screwdrivers -V-
Facom 22x24 deep offset double box end wrench

Just picked up a new 1/2" Snap-On TechAngle flex-head torque wrench from my dealer this morning.

He also warranted my 16oz dead blow hammer that the plastic on the handle had split.
