You won't be the first to do a wide body Gallardo, so there are plenty out there. Some racing in GT3, others just street cars. I'm sure there are a number of high quality body kits or flares "on the shelf" that could be grafted on without the trouble of making custom flares.

So far I have had a little trouble finding something available here in the states. Most of the ones I have contacted are ordering straight from Germany. They are no more than order takers and probably dont even have a storefront. I got quotes as high as $40K for a full kit. I dont want to have to build them but we may have to.

Nice but try tu turn it arounde sow the tip is op, it will then match the lip on the back ...

We made pretty good progress on the exhaust. I say good progress but it takes a tremendous amount of time to do this custom work. This exhaust tip will be powder coated black and have the stainless rivits around the outside.

Mark,
I have invested the last three nights in following this journey from the beginning. Jaw dropping to say the very least. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail is in very rarefied territory. Your buildings are awesome, your cars are awesome, hell, I've never met you and you seem awesome. The day after I hit the powerball I'm coming down to your shop with a 53' trailer load of projects. One thing I'm wondering, do you have any pics of the John Deere 140?! I'm only 30 but grew up mowing with a 400 on my grandmas farm, feet didn't reach the floorpan. Best of luck on the lambo but I wouldn't take one of those cars if you gave it to me, I'd take that 63 split window any day, especially when you are done with it!

Thanks for the "tip"! No pun intended:lol:

Did I see the Bronco still lurking there in the background? :D

I will get some more pictures. The front roll pan is done.

Glad to have you aboard:D The pursuit of perfection is not within reach.....we can only try. I will take a picture of the 140 in the next few days. It is in the Monster Garage up on a 18 foot tall rack. My dads first riding mower was a Wheel Horse but grandpa bought that 140 which was definitely cutting edge in the mid 70's. I still love to mow grass to this day. The 63 is going to be bad *** I promise. Thanks for being a part of this forum!

The first order of business was getting the Lambo into position and to get it wrapped up. At this point we are still wondering how we were going to accomplish the wide body modification.

Our mission is to get the fender "lip" over the tires. I used a sheet of 1/2" foam and cut a radius in the shape of the lower lip, shimmed it, and taped it to the wheel radius to get the amount we needed to widen the quarter. You can see it under the tape back to my high tech blue arrow;) The blue arrow marks the point where the quarter panel meets the rear bumper cover. We can pull the rear bumper cover out enough to match up to the widened quarter panel.

My high tech black line ;) shows where the factory body line is on top of the quarter. There is about 1" wide of metal there so what we will be doing is cutting the quarter right on that corner and pulling (the side) it out so there is a slight curve at the top of the fender. We have built the top of the quater panel out with foam to our desired width and then covered it will tape so we can see what it will look like. By widening the top of the quarter panel we are moving the stock quarter outward so the body doesnt look so modified.

This last photo shows the side vent and where we will cut and add 1 inch. This is another area where we will be moving the quarterpanel out so we can keep the body look as factory as possible.

I hope this makes sense. I will have some pictures of our cuts in a few days.

I can't believe you're going to cut up the Lambo to gain only an inch of width in the rear quarters. Just curious, are the inner sides of the tires near touching the inner fender?

I solved a tire clearance issue on my race car once by putting the rims on a Bridgeport and shaving a bit off the inside of the hub.

I was at the shop today and snapped this picture. Here is the cut on the top of the quarter panel......we will add 1.5 inches in this area. We will bow this out to get the extra 1.5" in width on our fender lip.

Here is where we will add about 1 inch to the side cooling ducts.

I see registration includes a Tee-Shirt !

Gone Dang it, I never thought to buy a Tee-Shirt or any other bits when we visited the shop last month

Guess I'll just have to pay another visit next time we're in Florida.

Enjoy the car show, I would so love to be there

The C10 project is rolling. You know when you get the feeling you want something done.........well I have it with this project and I want it ready for the show. We have spent about 3 weeks on the wiring. I can almost claim this is the neatest wiring job you will ever see. No crimp connections.........everthing is soldered, heat shrinked, and then encased in vinyl split loom. I will get some picks under the dash......it is so clean.....no wiring clutter. I am not sure who wants to pay for this level of wiring but I just didnt want to skimp. The detail of this truck is finally showing its face and I dont think we have missed a lick.

I had an aluminum dash bezel with autometer gauges but decided against using them. I ordered a nice Dakota Digital VHX pieced and will stick with the stock dash bezel. The lighted buttons you see on the dash operate the door solenoids.

We are still working on the C10 and hoping to get it ready for our car show this Saturday. I love the first picture here. For me the old 68 grills are my favorite.

Here are some custom defroster vents we made. Dimple die with polished stainless mesh.....yes they are functional.

Here is my glass man painting the inside of the glass. It has been a tremendous amount of work to do a flush fit windshield but keeping with the clean look it was necessary.

We used eurethane to attach the windshield.

This show and really encouraged alot of work around the shop and the outside of the shop has become another victim of the show. We decided to paint the front and the side of the building. I also ordered a new sign for the front I am installing tomorrow. I will post some pictures once we get the sign up.

The project I am most excited about is our 48 Firetruck. Check out these photos.

unusual for a '48 Ford!!! :eyecrazy:

I would have expected more rust in the cab being a Fire Truck.
Never seen fittings on a 48 that badly rusted. Then I had a good body and cab to start with in my 1948.

My 1969 International as a Fire Truck had plenty of rust round the roof and inside the doors etc. My 1948 Cab had a no rust in the fittings and a little rust in odd places like the vent we removed.
