Got this Tekton 8inch Vise Today. Didn't have time to find any good local deals and needed a vise asap. It is actually pretty nice. 60,000 PSI Steel construction. Jaws are replaceable.

Very little slop. Made in Taiwan.

They are ****. I bought them as well last week and was hoping they were made in Taiwan and nope, China made ****. Ton of side to side play, poor finish, weak grip. I returned to Amazon asap.

Thanks. After I posted I saw a bunch of bad reviews online with some pictures describing exactly that. I'll probably grab the cheap husky version (I think they go on sale for $7) to have in the box.

Kaane,

That looks a lot like the Yost all steel vise:

I'm pretty sure they're made it Taiwan as well. Same factory?:dunno:

I saw the VDE set, which I'll grab next time but could not find the VDE drivers in the tool section. I'll have another look next week. I was surprised to see them in there, almost tempted to buy some spares!
I bought the Screwdriver set today

Yep same vise, just 8 inch version vs 10 for the yost. At $140 it is still a great deal.

Well I debated on whether to put these in the garage sale thread or here but, due to their immaculate condition, I decided the "New" tool arrivals thread was more appropriate. Another member and I struck a deal on some "clutter" he had in his box.

First, some of his father's old post WWII issued tools.
Second, a huge haul of Proto wrenches
Check out the condition of these next few S-K sets!
Third, full set of older S-K combos
Fourth, full set of older S-K DBEs
Fifth, full set of S-K DOEs
Sixth, full set of S-K Metric combos, minus an 8mm I need to find.
Seventh, some brand new catalogues which may or may not clue you in to where these tools came from.

Thanks D!!!

SK SupetKrome combo set from ebay. Missing a few, but the price was right and soooooo much nicer than the no name china set I have now. Guess I'll have to bid on some singles to complete it. :eyecrazy:

Its been awhile since ive carried a pocketknife, so i decided to treat myself to my first Kershaw. Not very expensive but seems like a nice piece. Im thinking i may supplement it with a leatherman crunch in the near future.

Have had that knife for 3 years and absolutely love it. Carry it everyday.

Ordered some impact swivel sockets and got screwdrivers with them.

The SK screwdrivers are surprisingly nice, and for the price are definitely worth it. Here's a picture next to a likely more common screwdriver for a handle size comparison. Both are 6" #3.

Picked this up from Orielly First Call. January special promo offer for $99.00

Promo came with a stool, shop thermometer, mechanix gloves, pack of stylus pens business card holder, and some counter displays and a mouse pad.

Put all of this at dad's for in his shop / beer hangout. Might order myself one for the house also.

Those sk drivers look pretty good. Remind me of snap on hard handles.

Added to my nws collection, VDE drivers (excuse desk tool collection, tool box is 2800km away).
