From the amount of interest generated on just one forum, i'm surprised bob isn't thinking about becoming a domestic distributor. Heck, I'd give bob 5-10% extra just for the hassle and continue to go to him for the consumables because he has a good rep and is looking out for the community.

My money is green, or 1's and 0's, and I know I can afford it. I'm not going to back out, the guys from Classic Broncos who are here aren't going to back out. Thanks again to Bob and Organ for organizing this!

Not to clutter up the thread more, but if the OP decides to trim the list to a more manageable amount I would understand. I have a low post count, 6 to be exact, and 167 on the list, but have been a member for years. I dont post much because i either have nothing to add or dont know enough about the subject to add an opinion. I am sure no one could have guessed this many people would want in on this deal. People signing up to the forum just for this probably wont be back. This thread is cluttered enough with questions about consumables and what not, so I will refrain from posting again. I am willing to pay up in full at anytime with added finders fee for all of the trouble.

New members/low posters joined and piped up because they want to buy a plasma cutter and committed with a solid "I'm in". Lots of old member/high posters with wishy-washy committments and special needs baggage bogging down the thread. And now even some waffling. Require full payment upfront and see who the buyers are.
Hope the Chinese get it in gear before this gets moved to the vintage thread.

Latest update is still waiting on Chinese. I'm working on landing a very large contract for my shop so this is a very back burner type deal right now.

As far as post count goes, I'm not too worried as money is the color green

My take is low post count buyers are fine. Some will stick around, some won't. But they do help make it possible for us to get a better price.
I worry about a seller with a low post count. The are here to make a buck most likely.

Are you only sourcing one seller ? Have you reached out to any others? "North (Nanjing) Instrument Technology Industries Group" seller got back to me quite quickly each time.

You've gone way beyond on this deal already. Take your time and get your own business set. We can wait.

I have a low post count because I've been spending more time in the shop then on the PC...now it's winter I get a few more minutes to play on my favorite websites. I am definitely IN on this. I want one of those, BAD!!!

Just tell me where to send the money.

Been registered for a while but this is my first post. Mostly just a forum reader, a lot of good ideas around here.

A ~$200 shipped plasma cutter? I am in for one please.

Bob, are you going to have the time to ship 100 boxes? It will take quite a bit of time.

The way this contract is shaping up, I won't have the time anymore. I hate to disappoint, but after this week is going to determine if I have the time and space. Saturday was a trial run, and it went well and some more days were ordered. If these days go well I'm going to be so busy with the jobs I won't have time for anything else. Was hoping to have this done before my shop got busier.

Bob, as much as this comment is going to piss 99% of these guys off. Not having time would probably be for the best for you. Don't get me wrong, what you attempted to put together was/would have been extremely appreciated by many. But Having done many group buys myself have lived the misery. Also going past warranty issues and payments, I never saw language discussing paypal fee's and who would pay or absorb that cost. Also all though you are obviously a business, once you exceed 20K in paypal transactions they will report it to the IRS on your behalf. So now you have no choice but to account for these sales.

Anyhow it was a very thoughtful idea and if you decide to continue with it, I'm still in. But if it doesn't come through, you're still a solid guy as far as I'm concerned.

Who knows?
Ditto on LXCam's comments.

Hopefully the complaining is kept to a minimum since no one else but you has actually done any of the work involved.

If nothing else, I know what plasma cutter I'll be buying down the road.

Bob, I'm glad your business is looking bright! You should be commended for taking this on and being as patient with all of us fools. If it ever happens, I'm still in. Thanks again!

I deal with China often with my business and I also have a colleague who does export as his primary job. If you all are open to me taking up the reins, I can get things rolling rather quick.

With my low post counts, I don't mind supplying what you need to be "vouched".

Aquatic Bob. Since you have the contacts already established, and there are a bunch of people interested in this deal, I'll volunteer my warehouse on the logistics side. You can have them shipped to my warehouse and I'll take care of distributing. I think the easiest way would be for you to handle all the $$ side and simply ship me all the labels, I'll take the time to do all the rest. I'm in VA, right off I-95, just south of DC. Happy to volunteer the time for the GJ community. Again, it's up to you, PM me if you'd like to talk about it.

EDIT: don't know how changing coasts might affect cost, but I'll leave that to you.

I'm super late to this thread, but if the buy does happen, and I'm "eligible" (based on whatever criteria are used, post count, first-come-first-served, whatever) I will buy one. Put me on the list if you're still raking names. If not, I understand.
