Joining the trend, my New "B" Techwrench to replace my old ATECH2FR100 with the coarse head (needs repair-probably the damn battery cap). No you're not seeing things, my hunting around ended up with me getting 2, both essentially new. One is/will be for sale.

Can you post a picture of the side of them? I'd like to see the side profile of them. Thanks!!
I like my snap on dykes but wish they had an angled head like my old kleins I had

Are the regular crowsfeet laser etched too?

Not sure...

I talked to customer service today and she said "this is how they are being made now". I explained to her that myself, and most everyone else who saw the laser etching were very disappointed in SO for doing this. She is going to speak with the product manager next week and call me back. I'm sure there is nothing they can/will do about it but they at least know one customer doesn't like their new design. I will probably return them and buy another USA brand. After giving it more thought, laser etching is a deal breaker for me when paying full price on a tool truck. I can get laser etched tools from Craftsman or Harbor Freight MUCH cheaper.

I will post what I find out after I hear back from her, probably Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Oh boy, some additions to the gearwrench collection of wrenches that'll probably never get used. But they were only $50, so all is good.

some more freebies from sears since I had points to burn before they expired. Local ad had 1 set of usa 3/8" impacts half off 6pt 1/4- 3/4" SAE 17.49

T55 industrial 3/8" drive torx bit off the site for $1.50 this is more like the sk bits I have vs the old usa or new caftsman china bits. Its pretty beefy for 3/8" drive. The bit is replaceable unlike the older usa craftsman one's I have.

1" industrial 1/2" drive shallow impact to replace a missing one from my set. think it was $2.50

Placed another order from the Hot Deals section on the Gearwrench website. I bought a set of the electrician screw drivers last month but decided to get another set and ordered the filter wrench to keep at the house. It came a Napa package.

I scored these U.S made Craftsman 3/8" 12 point sockets today at the Sears Appliance Parts & Service Center in San Bernardino. I stopped there hoping they had a ignition switch harness for our stove and I stumbled onto a trove of U.S. craftsman tools. This place is across the street from the Sears store. It's a dump of a place and I had not been in there in years so I was surprised to see all of the tools. It's an 18 piece fractional/metric set. The set is selling for $39.99

They have a bunch if the Tawain made Gearwrench stuff as well as a lot of the raised beam U.S. Made Craftsman ratcheting wrenches. I had never seen those before. If anyone is in that area (passing through I hope and don't be there after dark) and want to scoop up some of the last U.S. Made stuff they have quite a bit. But you won't find any of it at the main store.

I took a picture of the inside of the socket. As you can see the finish quality isn't as good as they used to be.

I would have bought more stuff if they had some 1/2" fractional deep sockets in 12 point or 6 point or if they had some of the larger size sets of the Gearwrench or Craftsman ratcheting stuff.

My son has a really nice indoor custom made BRIO work bench with German made BRIO tools but he needed a cheap setup outside in my shop so he can "help" (he's 2) when I'm out there doing projects or servicing the cars. After he busted one of my headlamps with a spanner I knew I didn't have a choice any longer! Here's my new tool arrival from Amazon:

I agree with you warm pancakes but also there should be no questioning whether I it's snap on or not ..maybe if you have a new snappy dealer that hasn't been around the tools for awhile. He should be able to look and see it says snap on.

It also brings me to a sense of pride/proof of worth when I see someone using a snap on wrench that obviously looks like it's from the 60s
You say wow that's some good ****!! If there is laser etching and it wears off they are almost killing their long term advertisement

Why they just don't stamp them? Is it cheaper to laser etch them? It probably is,but then Snap-On is not a cheap tool.I want to be able to give my tools to my son and the Snap-On name brand name it then a tool with no name. I have my dads tools that were bought 50 years ago with the name stamped on it plus it says made in the USA. So we come back to what I said in first place. Corporate greed and profits comes before craftsmanship and quality at Snap-On....

Hey man, just wondering if this was a score you picked up, or was it a place that has them for sale online at that price?

Thanks.

Woot

But I just checked for you and all sold out. Woot has excellent prices on clearance items. It's a place I look at almost daily as many times half way decent tools can be picked up anywhere from 60-90% off. I've gotten several GW deals there.

I'm trying to think of a situation where they would be handy but can't think of much. Unless I'm missing something I would think that the t handle should be the other direction so you could push on it. With it being lined up the current way it doesn't seem like you could put much force.

Rear shocks on older Crown vic and grand marquis. Had no room for a socked and was very hard to use a regular ratchet.

Rather than moving the handle side to side like a regular ratcheting wrench, you move the handle forward and backward (in and out) allowing the hinge to transfer this force to side to side motion on the short ratcheting portion. Imagine this looking at the top one in the photo. Also, they fit in the toolbox better with the handle like that. :bounce:

I just got this in the mail. It is a mismatched 3/8 drive set. The ratchet is a Husky. The sockets are mainly Kobalt, Allied, SK, Sparta, and Thorsen. The swivel socket is a Bonney.
