I was rained out of work today so what else do you do on a day off, you buy tools. I bought a 5" cross slide vise for my drill press and a Everlast PowerPlasma 50 IGBT plasma cutter. The fit and finish of the Chinese plasma is as good as my USA made Hobart welder.

Nice. I've been eyeing everlast for a tig machine but haven't pulled the trigger yet

This is what I got from the truck today. Gearwrench flex head ratchets 84 tooth. 1/2" drive, 3/8" drive, stubby 3/8" drive and last 1/4" drive. Also the mechanic impact gloves
You'll love that 3/8 flex I've been using mine every day it it hasn't failed me yet. Any chance I can get the stubby part number.

Got my Mityvac pump kit by UPS and bought a set of wrenches on sale for the Service Cart. You never have enough wrenches & sockets.

Few new things. Color match light, matco tire plug kit, tpms reset tool, and the new butcher block top for my box.

Both sets of the gearwrench reversible ratcheting wrenches for $300 off the tool truck. [emoji482]

I dunno why but that just seems a little steep. I'm not sure what those extra larger sizes run but u can get both sets of metric(10-19)and SAE (3/8-3/4") for a total of $60 out the door from advance auto.
Like I said maybe the larger sizes like I see you have are a lot more money. Dunno

current amazon prices for those sets... 16pc metric reversible is $187.51 13pc sae reversible $153.99

metric set is 8-25mm only skipping 20 and 23
SAE set covers 5/16" to 1" with no skipped sizes that i am aware of

so i'd say $300 for the pair is a decent price if i was on a tool truck with that kind of deal in front of me and the funds to do it i'd be tempted

Got these the other week

Nitrocat-1200k.JPG

NitroCat 1200K and a Williams 1/2" T55 Torx socket.

I've dubbed the NitroCat "Thor's Hammer" since it's a beast compared to my old Craftsman impact. Both the NitroCat and Williams socket made quick work of some rusty, rusty bolts that held the front bumper of my project car on.

Before my Craftsman just didn't have the power and would sit there and/or the Lisle impact torx sockets I was using would just break.

Hopefully the Williams holds up for you. It is not an impact socket.

Yea I bought it since reading reviews of the Lisle impact I had been using people reported that the Williams while not an impact held up better than the Lisle.

It removed those 2 rusted in bumper bolts which is what I needed it to do so I've already gotten my $9 worth from that socket. I don't plan to use it much in the future other than to install new bolts (with a ratchet) when my project car is ready for it's new bumper and other than that the socket will probably sit in my tool box and rarely ever be used again.

(And should I need to use it as an impact in the future and it breaks I'm not going to bother trying to warranty it, I abused it by using it for a job it was not intended for but so far it did a job the proper socket couldn't do!)

I digress then. I didn't know it was that much more for the couple extra sizes. The $30 dollar advance sets skip a size or two that you can use the opposing SAE set sizes for. Good deal none the less!!

The ones I'm talking about at advance auto for $30 are indeed reversible

I believe the sets he purchased are reversible. The ones that you linked aren't.

Good catch.

Personally I think the advance ones are lower quality. Idk why but they just feel different. 2 people in the shop have the flex ones and they feel like much better quality

The local truck has both those sets for 267.00 he says he has sold 40 sets so far. A couple of coworkers bought sets the other day.
