your going love the FLEX ive had mines since it came out. and just this past week my backing plate broke i ordered the smaller 4.25inch plate instead of the standard 5inch plate.

I switch my backing plates out all the time.

I use this to switch between 4" and 6" backing plates.

Got these new Koken wheel sockets today. Can someone please tell me what the spring is for? It keeps me from attaching it to the ratchet. Thanks.

Some impacts have hole through the anvil(?) square drive. These will lock the socket to the square drive. If you are using a ratchet you remove the clips.

Yes, usually a steel pin goes through the hole and locks the socket to the gun. A rubber O-ring goes into the groove around the socket top and secures the pin. These clips serve the same purpose. Naturally if you are driving the sockets with tool without a hole in the square drive this is not used.

Had to warranty both my ratchets the heads were really floppy. So they didn't have any repair parts for them. Couldn't even order it. So I receive two new ratchets. My old ones didn't have the lock but I guess they updated the design? Free is free. Bought both off of a member on here.

Make sure you keep your receipt they are iffy about thay. I didn't have it but they let me slide.

I had to buy the stubby ⅜" hex because the regular length one kept getting me into trouble while doing my brakes. Now I should have no problem. I got the hammers, well, because they are green.

Do you know the part numbers to those hammers? Snap on site only shows red ones.

Just received my 3 piece hose pinch pliers from sears. Made in USA. Look great I used a guys at work he had a mac or snap on one. Looked exactly the same as the craftsman ones. I have the matco ratcheting one but it doesn't hold and leaks while on a coolant hose. Plus if I hit it the wrong it would release. Going to try these soon.

47 bucks shippped. Almost used my point and got them for 35 but I held out.

Omega magic jack stands. They have a strut inside of them so they rise by themselves. Not sure if that's a help or a hindrance, but they're cool... And an Arcan extra long floor jack.

More vintage, but new to me. My dad picked them up for me today. First off, a full set of BA size sockets (9/32 drive lol) 8ba to 0ba. Also came with a couple duplicates and a 1/8" Whitworth. A mix of british military marked king **** brand, and canadian gray. Also came with a 1955 military marked extension. Just need to find a ratchet now

And a gray 3/8 Whitworth open end

And finally 5/16-7/16 Whitworth combination wrenches. Real nice britool ones. Came painted but I cleaned them up

Until now I had one Whitworth open end, and one socket. Now I have the full set of BA sockets, and including the one I had, probably half the set of Whitworth wrenches. My goal is to eventually put together a full set of british size tools. Like to have an old land Rover someday, so I'll eventually use them

It actually hurts, I have been selling lots of tools to help offset some of the costs, but no where near what I have spent. :willy_nil

Ask your dealer about them, mine said he could still get them. :D

That sledge is made by Nupla and it is 8 pounds. 16" fiberglass handle ribbed, for her pleasure.

Not like this matters but... Is it just me or does Snap-On have the cheesiest looking packaging in the industry? By the looks of the packaging you would think it it should say "as seen on TV" or "Ronco" or " by the makers of The Kitchen Wizzo on the box. If you were not familiar with tools or the Snap-On name a person would have no idea it contains a $400.00 wrench set.

That was a steal of a deal man! Congrats!

WOuld you mind posting a photo of the selector side of the 3/4 ratchet? I had no idea they made a fine toothed version of the 3/4". The shape of the handle is definitely an older version of the SK handle.

3/8 drive and so far very pleased with its bit of use, almost small enough to get into all the places you need. I can see this being a go too tool.

Well as way of an update, I can report this is a fantastic bit of kit, it is small enough to get into small spaces and strong enough to remove all most everything I have pointed it at. It has hardly been out of my hands while working in the garage.

only 85lbft but has proved its worth :rocker:

Good find! As you probably know, the 9/32 drive was used on some military contracts in an attempt to cut down on pilfering! Some chance!

You may not need to wait till you get that old Land Rover before you start using the BA sockets. When the U.K. adopted the 'Unified' system (1958 for the auto industry) we never adopted the 'numbered' smaller sizes, retaining the widely used BA instead, up till the 1980's for most of the auto industry!

So... you'll find BA nuts and bolts on all manner of machine tools, precision instruments, electrical installations and so on, as well as relatively new cars!

I'm no expert on Land Rovers, but as I understand it, only the very oldest will have Whitworth bolts, the majority will be Unified (SAE) and I assume the newest will be metric! Don't see many new ones in my part of the world though!

Well I live in canada, so I probably won't encounter much of it. My dad picked them up from a Craigslist tool seller we buy a lot from. An early series land rover (I or IIa) and an old triumph are about the only things I can ever imagine owning that could use it. Whitworth stuff is very rare out here! This is pretty much the only I have ever seen for sale
