- Put a fresh coat of oil on the anvil, vises, and welding table.

- Lubed some Armstrong MAXX ratchets

- Rounded up the bits and pieces for some vise grip fixtures for the slide hammer

- Drank some beer

Did all my typical weekend Domestic BS on Friday night in anticipation of spending the weekend finishing our bedroom (painting and vinyl flooring). Instead, Billy tilled up a 16x20 spot of yard Saturday morning and we ended up putting in a garden. A few tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, watermelon, two new blueberry bushes and my first attempt at growing potatoes. No pics ... 'cause it's just some dirt and little plants right now and nobody cares. :D

Finally got some 110 and 220 outlets installed in my 3 car garage. My old house was a 2 car garage but there were 4 110 plugs and 1 220. My new house is nice but there was only 1....1!!! 110 outlet in the whole 3 car garage. Finally got 6 110s and 2 220s installed. Tomorrow is hook up my compressor and air lines so I can and cruelly use my power tools again. Woohoo

cleaned the damn workbench.

i knew there was an issue when i laid down an m12 x 1 foot bolt turned round and couldnt find it again :D

no more excuses of being busy.

filled the van with old cardboard boxes and such like that were cluttering up the bench/floor from parts arriving for my builds and moved anything that wasnt tool related to my goods inwards section ;) (its not as fancy as it sounds its just an area near the front where i keep all my new parts for projects so they are to hand.

It's been a week of brake jobs for me. Last weekend was the old F-150. This weekend my van got new front rotors and pads so it's ready for the next road trip. So nice to be able to accomplish some jobs that have been waiting for some warm days.

My online printer was having a decent sale and it was time for some new postcards for the shop. (I enjoy sponsoring car shows all over the country.) They're bigger than last time, glossy on the front side and pretty colorful -- they should get some attention on the sign-in tables.

Edit: Oh damn, that's small. Sorry guys. They're really bigger in real life. LOL!

removed the front end of the Dune Buggy, went to remove the rear but didnt have the right tool for the axle nuts. Have to remove them to get to the parking brake cables.
So i ordered the tool....torque meister. Leave it to the Germans to require their own german tool to removed and install axle nuts properly.

Drank and beer and went to my own garage to clean it. Pics to follow when I get to it.

(Sunday) got the rest of the Christmas lights back ito the storage bins & out of the garage. Now that there's some usable weather I can move forward with my semi-reorganization and storage updates...

Finally got the doors hung and some trim put up on the bathroom, office and tool room in my shop this weekend but the best thing is I got the toilet installed. No more using the bumper dumper in the alley, the Sat morning shoppers will be happy about that.

Replaced headlights in the Malibu with HID bulbs. This was the third time a bulb has
burned out in a little more than 3 years. Have to pull the bumper off to get to the
headlights.

Over the weekend I fabricated new suspension links/control arms for my Jeep Wrangler.

Full write-up with pictures can be seen in my shop projects thread in my signature. Too many pictures to post again, sorry.

Nice Chevy!
I'd need a bit more clearance for my taste/terrain... Like this --> (but without the non-dumb/non-flashy rims!)

Cool truck, and congrats on your lift.

Put the heads back on the Puma motor and retorqed all the case bolts. I couldn't believe that so e of the bolts where finger tight. Then for so e extra fun I broke out the angle grinder and started to strip the paint ad rust off the front axle beam.:rocker:

Finished up a mobile base for my **** Blast cabinet. I picked up some nice casters on sale at Woodcraft. The unit rolls around smooth as silk even on rough concrete. I'm happy.

My new Wheelskins cover came in the mail yesterday too so I installed that next. The fit and finish is really nice and the install was going really well until the stitching broke!! It turned out pretty good overall, but would have been great if that didn't break.

Funny (in a way), last fall I picked up a NIB wheel skins cover for $1 at a garage sale. Even matched my car colors, Ford as well. I started on it one day but realized it was going to take a long time. A few weeks ago doing a spring cleaning of the car I went at it again. Going well, keeping the string tight till ~2/3 the way around and the string broke. I pulled the stitching and removed the cover in plans of finding better stitching and shall try it again soon.

My house was built in 1981 and my 3 car garage also had ONE 110v 15A outlet and the entire 3000 sq/ft house had ONLY a 90A service!

I now have 400A main service in the garage and the house is now a 100A sub-panel! At 80% load I've got 240A continuous amps available in the garage alone on 6 50A 230v circuits, 12 20A 115v circuits, 18 twin bulb 4' fluorescents, 6 per bay each on 2 separate circuits. I can now run my MIG, TIG, Plasma, Compressor and 2 post lift all at the same time without tripping a breaker. :3gears:

It's serious overkill, but truly liberating after too many times tripping the breakers when my wife was cooking something in the oven and my compressor started while I was running some other tool...

Yeah it was less that two weeks ago, we got 7.5" of snow here. The last three days have been in the mid 60's. I think it's time to rotate tires and get ready for the nice weather. Enjoy.

SSE1990, that is a good-looking Chevy C20 you have there.

I worked on my Craftsman toolbox resto project... removed surface rust and paint and got the bottom roller box cleaned and primed.

I wanted to put together a welding cart to hold the welder, bottle, plasma cutter, grinders everything I needed right at hand. I put it together with scrap metal that I had lying around. The front casters I already had I bought the rear wheels from Harbor Freight. I have a total of $10 invested and ended up with a free tape measure and set of screwdrivers lol. I still have to add a few more things. A handle to the front hook for the helmet. After that I will take everything off and paint it red of course.

I threw together this table for my dad. I made it the same height as the pallet racking bench setup I made for the radial arm saw a while ago. The Top was a piece of aluminum loading ramp. Ended up decking the bottom with three quarter inch plywood.

trying to figure out what the material is that was on the top of the cabinets setting next to the red roll cart so I can drill holes in it to secure a wood top

also trying to find out where to buy stainless steel sheets to cover the wood top that is going on top of the black stuff

I'm in Toms River New Jersey in case anyone knows a place to find stainless top

Looks just like the top of my bench. I got it from the high school chemistry lab. It's damn near bulletproof. Probably epoxy resin. Careful cutting it, some of the old ones contain asbestos.

Did a job been putting off for too long. Changed the spark plugs on the 2006 Explorer with 122K miles. Only broke 3. Got to agree with Eric (aka NUTTSGT)s post of a week or so ago. Not really that bad of a job.

If changing spark plugs is not simple then the design engineer is over paid.

I 'built' this for my grandson, for his birthday. Upon reading the instructions (I know, I know), I found out it's locked out of 'high speed' from the factory. I unlocked it. He's gonna run circles around his sister's Barbie jeep. hehe!
