Pulled the exhaust off the old truck. Should have new mufflers by Wednesday, then I just need some pipe and I can make a new system.

I put a new voltage regulator on the Toro. The neighbor kid came over wanting to learn how to turn wrenches, so I had him replace the rear axle in my 4-wheeler while I swept and cleaned up a bit.

Around the house, I hung what I hope to be the last two shelves for the wife & spread 35 bales of pine straw mulch in the flower beds after weeding them first.

If you never use that lil boat, let me know before you put it on a shelf. I could help run some fuel through the lines.

I've been a little lax on putting bars on my barn windows, but after learning a neighbor down the road outbuilding was broken into, I got busy.

Also enjoyed Killians on draft!

Completed assembly of a media blasting cabinet. Sealed every seam with silicone as I assembled it. Changed lights for a brighter and bigger on inside. Added a dust separator using a partly filled water bucket and hoses. Added an air regulator, water separator, local blow gun. I was worried about all the weight on the fittings so I welded up a simple bracket to support the air handling equipment.

I enjoy projects like this. I even got to use it- that is until the air compressor failed. Plastic line between pump and cutoff switch melted, so I need to redo all that with copper tubing. More projects!

Can you show more details on your dust catcher?

R,
HAP

It's a very bare bones affair, and only does a basic job of protecting the vacuum against the coal cinder abrasives being used.

The only real thing to remember is to make the output from the cabinet going into the bucket should be at a right angle and pointed along the inside of the bucket so you get a nice cyclone effect. This will help the particulates drop out instead of just passing through. You could put another filter over the tube going to the vacuum if you wan. A bit of water at the bottom does a great job at trapping the particulates.

There are better designs, and you can even buy a premade top for five gallon buckets with all the fittings in place on Amazon for pretty cheap. This works for what I need it for so far. It is very effective in clearing the dust from the air in the cabinet.

Hahaha. The Sanger below my coupe is my sons and a very famous boat that he's slowly restoring. ISCA champion from the 1979/1980 season. We've been able to document all of it as well as find many of the original parts and pictures... Here's some from back in the day

I decided to move my "island" against the wall and it free'd up a bunch of space. The motorcycle lift still fits underneath and I ended up with a large empty space to work on toys (the cabinet on the left is the kitchen island out of the van; it is just there temporarily):

IMG_7398-XL.jpg

I was thinking I was going to move the island's light - but on second thought it might have turned out great as it is now over the lift when I pull it out. Just look how lit up the 950 is to work on it (the pic below is at night). Next time I drop a valve shim into the motor I'll be able to spot that thing immediately :willy_nil

IMG_7422-XL.jpg

I think I am going to have to take some time from shop work to working on toys... the 950, the yeti, and the plow are all in desperate need of some TLC. :(

Cool pictures and nice boat. Not that I am a boat person but anything in the "go fast" category I like.

Charged the battery in the scooter, filled the tank with 100 LL from the local airport and fired it up. To bad its raining. It was running a bit rough at low RPM last fall, I may have picked up a tank of bad gas, hopefully the 100LL will clear it up.

Installed four ceiling fixtures upstairs in the garage, four more to go then wire them up.

Put some new rear tires on the mustang. Took the old truck out to test the new exhaust and cleaned up after installing the exhaust last night. Now just watching TV in the garage and about to cut some drywall to finish the basement bathroom.

LOL!

Also not in my garage; assisted my pal with replacing the wheel bearings on his Porsche 914 vintage racer. To get there, in my case, I drove my E92 M3.

Started the clean up on my Craftsman Pre-Block grinder find from Tuesday. Brought the 4 speed Craftsman drill press in out of the car that I snagged from CL for $50 yesterday. Then I helped a buddy change the oil on his F150. It apparently hadn't been changed in a year and it DEFINITELY didn't have 7 quarts in it like it should and it was making enough noise that he thought the cam phasers were out. Turns out it just needed oil!

After that I cleaned it all up and found my buried workbench and headed in for some homemade General Tso.

Made some cardboard templates for my utility trailer sides and cut out the ATP. I was able to get it all clamped and set in place, tonight I will get it drilled/riveted in place and move on to the flooring.

Changed the oil in the daughter's POS Gran Prix and pulled a tire off to see what the clunking was. It appears that it needs an axle/half shaft, so we bought one from Pepboy's using a 30% off coupon.

Swapped out the 3" pulley on my compressor for a 6.25" pulley. Went from just over 400 rpm to just under 900 rpm. Thankful I didn't need to change the motor (only a 1.5hp @1725 rpm).

And then I did the fastest install and balance of a new motor cycle tire.

Not all today, but this week. Converted the CSFI system in my kids Tahoe to MPFI. Seems the factory system tried to fry itself by catching fire under the upper intake and gave out. The car is still a POS, but at least it runs good now.
The last pic is of the conversion unit compared to the original. Very easy swap, should be better on gas too.

Wow, is this my first post? It's been too long.

Finished the El Camino last year, (for the most part).

Working on a Mini Dune Buggy with big motorcycle engine.
Tonight I worked on trying to hide the mass of motorcycle wiring. I could rewire it, but it's easier to just hide the wires...

Getting ready to move to a new place with my own shop. But, that's for another thread.

Replaced an Amsoil air filter with a NAPA Gold paper one. Probably will continue to use the paper type from now on. Absolutely no noticeable difference for a daily driver, and paper is actually proven to filter better.

Fixed my Fuji-Robin line trimmer. The nylon clamp that stops the engine rotating on the pole had snapped over winter for some reason. Took me a while to find a new one but ten quid later it's all fixed and back up and running. Of course that meant I had to go and trim around the garden though.
