Applied the second coat to the Bronco frame. Finally sat down and made up my detailed parts list for R&R parts and other misc. parts needed before the body goes back on. I have to also sit down and redesign the body craddle for the body (the one it is sitting on is not sturdy) and I need it safe before I finish up the under side of it (not a good feeling laying under it and it start creaking and moving lol).

That's to bad. Hope the best for you. I thought about moving due to my allergies. But immunization shots helped me considerably. I hope the move helps you maintain your asthma, I cant imagine the feeling of that.

Thanks, I maintain a sense of humor....................It is my belief that you are born either good looking or healthy. Since I am not healthy I MUST be good looking:lol_hitti It is my illusion and I can have it any way I want!

Finished re-assembly then machined up a knob out of black plastic to cover the low speed output on the old mixer. Running good & ready to supply the family with tasty baking for another generation. Job done!

Unfortunately the bowl & stirrers are at Mum's place so we haven't made a test batch of biscuits* yet.

Cheers
Clint

Great job Clint!

I "completed" the final part of the transmission replacement in the Samurai: Larger tires (about as large as you can put on them stock with no lift/mods) went on this AM. And they are reasonably quiet too while still being a decent AT! (I needed the ****** replacement to get a lower overdrive so it's still useable as an overdrive...)

Finished repairing the wipers on my dd Saturn SL. Driver side shaft was completely rusted stuck. Replaced burnt out motor then disassembled the linkage. Got the shaft out and cleaned up the bushings and bore. Reassembled everything and it worked, for 5 minutes. The new motor electrical connections need to be cleaned up, saw the overspray on the pins but didn't think anything of it until later.
and this was all done in front of the garage as I still haven't made any progress inside.

Replaced the air hose in the 25-foot reel. The original 3/8" ID rubber hose was cracked and starting to swell near the 3/8" MNPT end fitting. I already have a Flexzilla 3/8" ID hose so I bought a Flexzilla 1/2" ID hose (also with 3/8" MNPT fittings) to see if it would fit. I have to be a little more careful rewinding the hose but it definitely fits. While I was at it, I replaced the Harbor Freight 3/8" black rubber snubber hose with a Flexzilla 1/2" as well.

The larger hose, along with Milton V-Series high-flow couplers does make a difference, especially with the angle grinders and air sanders.

Last night in the garage I showed my kids how to change a tire. They are 3 and 6. Needless to say, they were mesmerized by the fact that I was taking a wheel off of the car. The right rear on my Studebaker had a flat and so we took it off and pumped it up. I went out this morning and it is losing air again already. I will be taking it in to get looked at. The tire has no more than 1500 miles on it from when it was on my other Studebaker. So I need to get that figured out.

Enjoy! They grow up so fast. My daughter's already 8, but she still loved to hang out in the garage with me.

Yesterday I started cleaning up the rest of the WWII Era steel framed "Crittall" window from the old pig house out back of the garage. It has five windows in it all I suspect salvaged from one of the many derelict WWII airfields around here. All have smashed glass and rust and other issues. It's just used for storage so the plan is to pull them out one by one, de-rust, repair, paint, refit and reglaze them. This one the top hung opener had snapped off as the rivets used as hinges had seized so I've drilled them out and will be replacing them with bolts with the nut welded on for security, the bottom of the opener part also needs a small section cutting out and replacing with new steel as its rusted out.

Not sure if I'm just going to paint them gloss black or go with a more appropriate WWII colour scheme of olive drab.

Wow, that came out nice Clint. I need to do something similar for the wife's Kitchen Aide as its starting to look rather ragged and the cord needs replacing. I was going to tell her to buy new until I saw the prices on those things :scared:!

The new tires ALMOST Clear on the Samurai (a bit over 2" bigger): at full lock they just touch the bumper mount, so I'm half done trimming it from this:

To this:

The pic angle makes it look like its not at the right angle, but it is...

Playing with the new Miller Spectrum 375 X-TREME Plasma cutter just bought to help with the 73 Bird project. WOW that thing can cut some metal!

I borrowed an older Miller 375 for a while and it made me want my own so I bought a Miller 2050 as a brand new leftover. Talk about can cut, its rated at 7/8" and will sever 1 1/8"

I burned a bunch of holes in my OB test stand, while I was trying to MIG weld it. Learned to be aware of the material thickness, especially when you have to different ones at the same joint.

Here's the window, welded a patch on the bottom of the opener, just need to source some longer bolts to use as hinge pins and waiting on a bottle of rust converter as I've run out then it'll get a coat of primer and probably gloss black as I have a big can of a decent black chassis paint in the garage. Then I can fit it back in the hole and reglaze it, then there's only another four to go! (three of which are bigger)

I really need a new mig welder as I just can't get a consistent weld from the one I have, the wire feed *****, it's never worked well from new.

didnt get much of anything done in the garage. i did throw the battery charger on my s-10 blazer this afternoon, car show coming up next saturday.

i've had a sump pump leak thats been flooding an area about 10 feet from the house, so i figure it's a broken cast iron pipe again....

little did i know....:eyecrazy:

f it, i'm drinking now.... :drunk:

the outlet of the tank must be plugged somewhere out in the yard, and i have NO idea where it goes....

gonna bite the bullet and call a plumber in the morning...

probably cheaper than the 911 call for the heart attack i'm gonna have hand digging through the compacted clay..

sorry for the crappy pics, i think my camera was fogged up.
seems to be about 967 degrees, and 300% humidity

Washed and quick waxed the Jeep in the heat. Came out amazing. Carnauba wax loves heat.

While on the topic, anyone who doesn't use a wax-as-you-dry product is really missing out on easy shine and protection.

I replaced the screen for 3 windows on the house.

We just moved into a manufactured home park (just a fancy way to say trailer park I guess) from an apartment on July 1st. I now have a 16x24 garage with storage loft. Soooo nice to finally have a garage somewhere else than up north at my Moms place. One that I can actually use every day. Been enjoying organising it and doing small things but the screens was my first actual project in it. Feels good.

Cut a bracket off of the driver's side front frame rail of my '70 *******. The bracket was for a turnbuckle to keep the engine from torquing against the stock motor mounts. Needed it with the 340, new 440 is being held in with a motor plate. Too hot and humid to do anymore than that.

Shed not garage: I just Ammonia bombed (Three ammonia soaked wads of paper towel under the side that is hard to enter/egress) the family of skunks that seem to be setting up household under it. After they leave for the evening meal, I'm surrounding the thing with Cayenne Pepper. - Fight Chem warfare with Chem Warfare...
