i was looking through some tools i got when i got my old mac box and noticed something strange on one of them
on an old boxed wrench i noticed it said sears...i thought craftsman maybe
then i turned it over and it says BF JAPAN
how old is this wrench?
and how long did they have japan make their tools?

plus i found a "forged in USA" boxed wrench thats steel not alloy but now name on it

and a few vintage westline wrenches:bounce:

According to member, Lauver, BF = probably Daido, possibly Hozan, Japanese made, ca 1969 - 1987

I've seen quite a few Sears wrenches and pliers here, all made in Japan.

hmm thats cool
it looks pretty vintage by the sears logo but that could just be a basic design

im really curious about the steel wrench....cause its not the typical 11/16...its like 19/something and another crazy fraction on the other side

19/32 and 25/32 were produced by Sears thru the 60's. Not sure when they stopped. I have a whole set of Craftsman metric combination wrenches that are made in Japan, alongside an identical set of USA made Craftsmans, along with a number of other Japan made Craftsman tools.
