Seems like someone from Korea thought it would be fun to create thousands of bots that made accounts on garagejournal.com and then posted spam (in Korean no less) all over the forum.

I've got most of it cleaned now, but you might see some more pop up today.

I'm on it... Just report what you see...

And sorry for the trouble.

I've actually never seen anything like this... They created over 25,000 accounts overnight. Gonna take some heavy lifting to clear them all, but we are getting close.

no man thank you guys for being patient...

What this probably means is that we are gonna have to get off of Vbulletin soon and go to Xenforo like we have done on jalopyjournal.com. It's a **** ton of work and will initially piss plenty of you off, but once you get used to it, it is so much better than VB.

The other forums that I'm on that have gone to Xenforo look really good. The conversion was quick, and no data loss.

Probably Kim Jong Un playing around on the computer and ended up here, seeing we are so popular, so he decided to bomb us. :lol_hitti

Sorry I wasn't around this morning to give you a hand but looks like you caught it all for now. If they hit again like that and you need help, just give a shout.

Thanks to Ryan & Mods for keeping this site virtually problem free.Having been Moderator on a totally unrelated site for the last dozen years, I know it's pretty much a thankless job

Thanks Ryan.

I personally don't like the Hamb appearance. Avitar side panel takes up way too much space. I would hate that to occur here.

I was clicking "report" on them as fast as I could, but my fingers started getting tired... and it was really late and I was tired.

Thanks for your efforts, Ryan. ;)

(*nothing new for me... used to use IRC all the time - channel operator on a big channel - we saw that kind of stuff all the time. finally resorted to broad domain bans, i.e., *.* @*.kw - only way we could deal with it.)
