Spent the day under the Zephyr
Getting it ready for the big show (grand nationals in Pomona)
Didn't like the looks of the exhaust system or the sound, so we went to work changing out the big muffler and ugly exhaust tip.
swapped it out for a glass pack and reran the exhaust to exit out in front of the right rear tire

Nigel, the plunger is spring loaded & the rod only acts on it one way, so the follower position has no effect on the pressure in the grease gun. When a new cartridge is loaded, the follower is pushed through the plunger into the new grease.

Makes sense! So I've been doing it wrong all this time by not pushing the follower rod through the grease? On my grease gun the follow rod is attached to what appears to be a disc with a rubber o-ring on it, as grease gets pumped up the follower arm starts to go up into the shaft tube of the grease gun.

Built a cardboard and foam airplane for my Kindergartner's transportation parade tomorrow. He wanted it painted turquoise but I got sneaky and did sky blue instead.

Cleaned up a bit. Scrubbed out the bathroom. Put on a couple new switch plates. Sharpened some sawzall blades. Put some more crappy tools in the recycle bin. Sorted some better tools and materials for donation. Started cutting up a desk phone to become a funky wall phone. Hope it turns out half as good as what's in my mind.

Walked through it to go out the back door and picked up some firewood.
Invited the dog inside and he refused.
Walked back through the garage.
Started a fire in the fireplace.
Had dinner.
Started to go into the garage and realized it's below 32F with a 20 mph North wind.
Walked back through the garage.
Picked up some more firewood.
Invited the dog in again. He refused.
Walked back through the garage and into the house.
Watching the fire and reading GJ by the fireplace. Sometimes it's the simple things that are the best.

I wish I had the shop you do to work on my rig. I would be more motivated to go out in the shop!

Thank you. It has been a long time getting it equipped and setup to where it is now.

Are you by any chance over on JeepForum as well? I thought I remember seeing a username like yours over there.

took apart the MTD snowblower I use at my grandparents house. The cord broke. You have to take apart damn here the whole thing to properly get to the part you need. Don't mention all the rusted out bolts on there.

Me too :)

The car is a ways from starting, I need to purchase the 5spd still so I can install the engine (421" small block) then plumb and wire everything up front before I install the front sheet metal. I'll be trying the Holley Terminator Fi and return style fuel setup.

This is how it sits now, slowly accumulating $ for the next few parts.

Been kinda busy out in the shop this week! My younger son and I finished up a pair of interior door panels for his '84 Ranger pickup. The originals were absolutely trashed. We used 1/4" Luan board and some Desert Storm-era desert camo nylon fabric. They came out pretty decent. Keeps the weather out of his beater Ranger. Changed the oil and filter in it, too.

Sold my lowered '68 D100 Fargo pickup this week and the buyer is picking it up next week, so I've been doing a couple of little things on it to get it ready for the new owner.

Removed the fan and fan clutch from the wife's Dakota this morning. The clutch had locked up, so the truck sounded like a C-130 at takeoff. She's happy, I'm happy.

Did a little brake work and changed out a leaky oil sending unit on my Ford.

Normal week around here!

Adding a couple more vertical braces / hangars before I really load them up, then re-arranging some other storage shelves and getting rid of the rest of the stuff on the floor. Then I can really get my woodworking corner set up.

Have a bunch of electrical rewiring and a couple circuits and light switches to add, too.

Living vicariously through all GJ in warmer climates or with heated garages. Too cold here to do much other than split more firewood for the fireplace in the house.

Looks like you need to build a new or much bigger work bench

Installed a couple LED shop lights, cleaned and rearranged the shop area so I can mount the air compressor that I just finished wiring up. Will spend the rest of day organizing and putting tools away.

Been busy ordering parts/tools getting ready for this season. Paid crazy money for this IR impact & GT3 991 wheel socket but needed it. Porsche is very proud of that wheel socket! The guy from RPXpress total me the price and I didn't believe him :eyecrazy: Plus I paid $185 for a 1000psi air hose for the cars air jack system.

Cut up and reassembled bits of a few desk phones for my make your own wall phone project. Tomorrow I should have a working, but incomplete product. I want to put something in the 3x5 blank space between the receiver and the button pad. I'm open to suggestions.
