Washed and mounted a recently acquired Vise Grip rack... now the challenge begins to finish filling it. The 10WR is my original pair of vise grips that I bought back in the early 80's and the rest I have acquired since joining GJ.
It goes nicely with my 2 CM racks.

Put the new trigger hose on the auto drain and swapped the ends on a dead air hose to a new one. Tried putting ends on a second and the brass sheared off after I coupled a tool to it. The brass was so cheezy. Lowes is eating this one. The HF **** that died had heavier fittings.

Buddy gave me a GE main switched commercial 200 amp 40 pole panel...technically, I put it in my garage...literally, set it on the floor! LoL, not in stalled yet. And cleaned out my stall in the gar.age we park in... One more good day of living and putting stuff away and it is back to parking inside. And not a day too late either, snowing outside and going to be 0 F this weekend.

Unfortunately not in my garage but someone else's. Muffler on our liberty was shot so it got a new muffler and tailpipe. $300. Surprisingly, it is not only quieter but it also rides better. Maybe the engine is a slight bit smoother? I have no idea how they are related.

I don't have a sink in my home garage, or water cup on my grinder pedestal, so I dug around in my scrap bucket and made a cup holder for a pint sized paint can to cool work in.

Built a new little shelf for my closet. It has a couple of hooks on it and a shelf for my wallet, EDC knife and change can.

Finally sorted a bunch of boxes of home hardware etc into some clear totes. One for eletrical stuff, one for painting, one for plumbing & sprinkler, one for household hardware and oddball stuff. There has been a great culling.
Also got a lot of my offcuts and metal and PVC remnants in some sort of order.
But last week it was some surgery on the wife's Tahoe's engine. Seems that from 2003-2007+ GM in their inifinite wisdom deleted the PCV valve and went with a PVC-like structure that was integral to the driver side valve cover. A sort of welded in baffle, with weep holes. And it seems that in high mileage engines the weep holes crud up and quit weeping. And then your vehicles starts aspirating oil. At an eventual point a good while later, you have puddles of oil in your intake manifold and you start laying your own smokescreen, intermittently.
As she first described it to me, I was concerned she's lost a head gasket. But no water in the oil, no oil in the water, radiator water untainted and full, oil fill cap dry and not enough oil to register on the stick. So I searched around a bit and found a lot of folks complaining about this issue.
So I grabbed my spring-claw tool and a wad of paper towel and se viola
Then I got into the back half of the intake and got a bunch like this -
Then I pulled the valve cover and did find the weep hole nearest the PVC hose to be clogged.
I was figuring I needed to dismount the intake manifold to clean it out properly, after cleaning up the valve cover. But before I made tha tdecision I lost hold of a paper towel in the back chamber of the intake and then I HAD to take it off. Whee. At 160k mi I was expecting to have to need to change the intake gaskets anyway, common issue with vortec motors.
These filthy ports are the INTAKES. The only clean areas were right adjacent to the fuel injectors.
Then I cleaned things up a bit and got it back together. Been a week and it's still running fine
Here's a shot before I dismounted the intake, you can see the remainder of the oil puddle in the front chamber. The small hole in the back leads to the rest of Tut's tomb, where I lost the paper towel. And where the oil accumulation was much greater.
took a lot of work to clean that thing out. There's a fwd chamber, a rear chamber and a upper chamber that bridges both and the intake runners spawn from the upper, wrap around the central chambers and cross under to the opposite sides to the heads. A real hassle cleaning all that out. All because some engineers decided to delete a $4 easily serviced PCV valve.

FYI there is an updated design valve cover For your Tahoe.. i would put the new version on over cleaning the old..as it adresses some pcv issues, just a heads up

Added a length of 2" tow strap to my winch rope on my ATV, specifically for plowing. Then took it out to plow the drive.

I installed some of those plastic condom things that go over fluorescent tubes. I have 8 tubes, but only did 4 for now. I also fixed the wiring in this portable light fixture I have. I'm going to mount it to the wall in my garage. I started to mount it, but the drywall anchors I have ****. I'm gonna get some better ones tomorrow.

yes, I found that out while researching the problem and fix. $120++ vs the 'free' fix. It took 160k mi to become a problem, I expect the vehicle to be gone before another 160k goes by. And the missus' '05 Tahoe has much the same drive train as my '02 Sub, which has a regular PCV. I suspect I could retrofit an older valve cover and change to a PCV valve and change the breather tube and avoid the trouble forevermore.

Today I got an idea and banged out an iPad holder for my garage cabinet. iPad slides in from teh end, leaves the speakers exposed. I have a few different working areas in teh garage, for different hobbies / tasks. I often stream music and videos / movies thru my phone or ipads as either ambient noise or 'how to' vids. This frame / location works well for the 'ambient' thing, where my eyes are busy on something else.
Frame pivots. 2-3hrs and some scrap wood and a bunch of tooling operations. 'Free'. I'm big on 'free', I've got a lot more time than money these days.

Nice .... it's the little things that make a place yours.
Got the new axle blocks installed on the KTM. These make adjusting the chain tension so much easier. No more need to push the wheel up against the stops when tightening the axle.
Also got the new billet oil filter covers installed.
Finished up with replacing the sprocket bolts with new ones on the Supermoto setup and getting the new chain cut to length.

I got the glass for my table project, it was the last thing I needed to put it together.
The Wheel/Tire came of my Harley after an accident a few years ago. I always had the idea to do this but only recently got motivated enough to actually put it all together.

That's an awesome idea and even in the overcrowded iPad accessory market this is something that has potential for mass market. You should at least make some simple drawings and document your design.

What did you use to clean that up? Roloc discs or something? Looks so much better.

Just usual variety of canned degreasers and brakleen. Some nylon brushes, toothbrushes, and a bronze-bristle toothbrush for the stubborn spots.
Funny you mention those discs, I'd never heard of them until just recently, watching 'eric the car guy' youtube vids. I'd been using scrapers and razor blades (and the aforementioned toothbrushes).

Nothing. Kitted one SK 3/8 and one Matco 3/8 ratchet, cleaned the air filter on my compressor.
Did the final sanding on a screwdriver rack. Probably spray it in a bit if the sun comes out a little.
Waiting on parts for a Yam 200.....yawn.

Had a skills test for work today from 7 to 3. I was done with the 10 test by 11 and the instructor said I could leave. So an early start to the weekend projects. 50 hour service on the simplicity was first. Next looking for a clunck on a plow truck. I see a pitman arm and idler so far, but haven't found the clunck yet.

Maybe a crossmember or transmission mount? I've seen that be a mystery steering clunk when everything else is OK.

I think you're on to something. Went and looked at the ****** mount one more time and one of the studs threw the crossmember is broke off.

The wife a "clunk" in her suburban when she made a left turn. I hunted for that for a couple of days until I found the top hinge pin in the driver's door was almost out. Drove it back I with a hammer and punch and it was fine until we sold it a few years later.
